Chomper Mudbeard is the main antagonist of the 1999 novel, The Magic Garden, and its 2015 animated musical film adaptation. He is a sadistic carnivorous plant who serves as Tomato and Mr. Peng's arch-nemesis, the murderer of his father, and Potato's former boss.
In the 2015 film adaptation, he is voiced by by Kevin Spacey, who also played Micky Rosa in 21, John Doe in Se7en, Keyser Söze in The Usual Suspects, Frank Underwood in House of Cards, Buddy Ackerman in Swimming with Sharks, Dave Harken in Horrible Bosses, Rufus Buckley in A Time To Kill, Clyde Northcutt in Fred Claus, Hopper in A Bug's Life, Jonathan Irons in Call of Duty, Dr. Nerse in The Cleveland Show, and Lex Luthor in Superman Returns, while his singing voice is provided by the rapper Tone Loc, who also played Juice in Blank Check and Lou the Goanna in FernGully: The Last Rainforest.
Chomper arrives at the garden, when killing and eating vegetables (including Tomato's father, Bob) but is willing enough to give the animals a second chance; if all of the animals in the woods do bring him enough food, Chomper will became a king, if not, he will kill them. Before dying, Bob stands up to Chomper, and Chomper doubles the order of food that the animals must prepare.
That night, Chomper break into the henhouse and kills a few of the flies, frogs, and raccoons. He forces several animals to serve him in order to became a king of the yard. Chomper goes around threatening various forest animals to bring him enough food or he will kill them. He later kills humans that night. As Chomper continues to eat, he slowly turns red, and growing bigger muscles.
After the tiny heroes battled it out to defeat King Potato and trick him that Chomper had used him, in order to defeat Chomper, they must steal the bomb seeds. After retrieving the bomb seeds, Tomato and his friends travel back to the Yard, and upon arriving, Chomper tries to kill them. With the help of Ninjin (a Chinese grumpy mouse who helps lead the rebellion against the carnivourous plant), Tomato throws the bomb seeds into Chomper's mouth. When Chomper eats it, he is killed in a explosion. After defeating the villainous plant, the animals is freed from his tyranny.

In the 2015 animated film, his role is pretty much the same as the comic book, and he became far dangerous than King Potato, and had his henchmen, the Piranhas, to do his bidding.
