It’s been a while, McLean. You left them there to rot. Why are you here again? Because of guilt? Because of sympathy? Or is it because you can’t stand the blames being sent to you for something you did? You’re just doing this because you miss being the good guy in the eyes of others. Who cares anyway? Just find them. Hope you find good news. And pray you don’t end up the same way you think they did.
~ An unknown narrator to Chris as he arrives on the island
Very kind of you to set up a medical tent to help the participants. But, in the end, who ended up being responsible for putting them in danger?
~ The same narrator to Chris while the two are in the medical tent
Did you really think you can run away this time? And avoid the consequences again? What a fool. This is the punishment you deserve. And you will be locked out of heaven for all eternity.
~ The ghosts of the contestants, presumably before they kill Chris.

Chris McLean is the main protagonist of the horror art story Island of The Slaughtered, a horror AU based off of Total Drama, which was made by Eavee-ry on Tumblr. He is the host of Total Drama who causes the events of the story by fleeing the island and abandoning the contestants, before coming back to the island a month later to bring the contestants back home.

Personality[]

He is described and shown as a greedy, egotistical and cowardly man who cares for little than the safety of people and rather cares more of his own self preservation and survival.

After witnessing the first contestant's death, Chris flees the island with his workers and abandons the contestants to leave them for dead. He later comes back on the island a month later, but it was not out of the interests of the contestants well being or to soothe his guilt, but rather to launder himself as a hero and get his reputation back in order, showing a completely unrepentant man who doesn’t feel much, if any, remorse for the situation that he caused.

Biography[]

In 2007, Chris invited 22 teenagers in a dingy summer camp on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean called Camp Wawanakwa to compete in a reality show called Total Drama, where they would compete for large money prize.

However, Chris nor his producers didn’t bother to scan the island, failing to find an unknown man who was hiding in the island. When Ezekiel gets murdered and chopped up by the killer, Chris and his workers find blood smeared message warning him to get everyone off the island. Chris proceeds to have him and his men leave the island on the boat, abandoning and deserting the contestants on the island with the killer for a whole month.

One month later, Chris returns to the island with Alejandro and Sierra. The ghosts of the dead contestants are angry at him for leaving them to die, leading to Chris to have to follow the rules of the ghosts to avoid them, most of which involved avoiding said ghosts. During which, Chris, Alejandro, and Sierra wandered the island to see the carnage that took place as Chris is given the rules. Presumably, if Chris broke all these rules (some testing his morality), he would be killed by the ghosts.

However, due to his cowardice and negligence, he eventually is caught by the ghosts, and is presumably killed by them as it's said they locked him out of heaven for eternity. As the ghosts took their revenge, it allowed the surviving contestants to escape, presumably with Alejandro and Sierra.

Trivia[]

  • The rules Chris had to follow were:
      1. 1: Find him quickly (Ezekiel Miller)
      • References how Ezekiel was cut to pieces and parts of him had to be found on the island.
      1. 2: Backstabbers get what they deserve (Lindsay Top)
      • References how Lindsay trusted and considered a lot of people friends, including Chris, who backstabbed her and everyone else.
    • #3: Be aware of the differences (Sadie Unda)
      • It is currently unknown what this rule is in reference to. It could reference to how Katie and Sadie are almost the same. It could also be a reference to the fact that all the presenter Chris knew about the two was that they were both friends, not knowing how to differentiate them.
      1. 4: Don't look at his face (Justin Kalani)
      • References how Justin died by having his face cut off, as well as how looking at Justin would lead to giving into temptations, as demonstrated in Total Drama Island.
        • Sierra is seen as the one who is holding the mirror containing Justin's faceless reflection.
          • The ghosts are hostile towards Sierra and Alejandro for being with Chris, but they aren't their targets.
    • #5: Once you see her, don’t turn around (Beth Yentsten)
      • References how when the killer looked at Beth's smile, he hated it so much he killed her for it, as well as giving her a permanent disfigured smile. In this rule, if Chris sees Beth, he is not to look away, ironically being the exact opposite of the previous rule.
      1. 6: Everything is okay (Tyler Kenard)
      • References how the killer states "Chris, if there’s something you don’t know about Tyler, it’s that he is not just a dumb jock. He has feelings too."
      • The rule also calls to not interact with Tyler (similar to Justin's rule), in spite of his horrifying condition.
      1. 7: Mind your business (Noah Mudaliar)
      • References how Noah wanted to be left alone, which led to his death. However, the detail is that Noah didn't want to be alone by everyone, he only wanted to be alone by bad people.
      1. 8: Don’t start a fight you can’t finish (Bridgette Summers)
      • References how Bridgette wouldn't forgive someone like Chris for starting fights he can't finish, as it would be disrupting the peace, something Bridgette evidently loves.
      1. 9: Give him what he wishes/#10: Give it to him now! (Owen Burnham and Geoff Algolen)
      • References how Owen is usually hungry and is getting impatient due to his hunger.
      • References how Geoff (labeled the party guy in the story) is also getting impatient.
        • Ironically, Owen was the one labeled the party dude in the source material, though Geoff also liked throwing parties.
        • Owen and Geoff share their rules due to them literally dying together.
      1. 11: Don't ever harm nature (DJ Benson)
      • References how DJ loved nature and animals.
      1. 12: Never interrupt him (Trenton Cooper)
      • References how Trent loved music and singing and how Chris McLean made light of the young man's love for music, even calling his guitar trash.
      1. 13: Don’t mess with things that aren’t yours (Harold McGrady V)
      • References how Harold tried to take a weapon to fight the killer, but also the act of Chris taking things that weren't his just because he thought he could.
      1. 14: Never deny your wrongdoings (Courtney Satella)
      • Doesn't seem to clearly reference anything Courtney did, but does mostly target Chris and his wrongdoings. With this in mind, it may reference how Courtney always wanted to be a lawyer, and it would be illegal to deny your wrongdoings in court.
      1. 15: L̴҉̴͙͖̞̳̜̖ͣͧ̑̑͜͞͠͞͠e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞A҉҉̦̣̤͔̟̩̋̿̏ͦ̈́̍͟͠V̶̝̐̀͟͟͝E҉̰̰͎̆͞T҉̘͙͖̠̓ͦ͑̄͜͜͟͞H̴̶̵҉̨̡̛̼͎̫͓̒́̔ͩ͜͟͠͞͞e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞i҉̧̯̤̙͔̑ͧ̅̔ͦ́͜͟͢͝͠s҉̝̭̦͚̑ͯ̌͡l̶҉̰͚͖͕̍̈́̅͗̏̇͢͜͜͝A҉҉̦̣̤͔̟̩̋̿̏ͦ̈́̍͟͠n̸͐̈́͟͟͝d҉̴̷̧̢̛̖͔̤ͯ̔̑̄͢͟͡͠n̸͐̈́͟͟͝o҉̢̡̲͇̌͗̀͢͝W̵̶̸̻̼͉̱̄͗ͭ͟͢͢͠ [unglitched as "LeAVETHeIslAndNoW"] (Heather Kasuga)
      • Doesn't reference anything Heather did or her death, but it more references how this is the final rule before Chris is taken by the spirits, especially given the glitchy text, showing how the ghosts are now hellbent on killing Chris at this point.
  • The entire story is in Chris' point of view, with the narrator telling Chris about how everyone died, as well as shaming him for their deaths.
    • The final death, being Chris' own death, implies the narrator was the spirits of the deceased contestants, who were guilting Chris about his actions before deciding to kill him when it was clear that Chris was feeling no remorse.
  • Like most of the other characters, the only visual shot of Chris is his own death, where he is being grabbed by the spirits of the dead contestants.
    • Chris' artwork was one of Eavee-ry's favorite artworks in the series, next to Trent's.
  • In the official and more clear descriptions on how each character died, Chris' says "bait. it was kind of him to distract them for everyone to escape."
    • This implies the ghosts probably would've targeted the still living contestants for unknown reasons, given that the contestants should realistically be on the same side and the ghosts therefore would not want to kill their friends. Eavee-ry has even stated that they'd be friendly to the survivors as long as they did nothing wrong.
