We'll come around. We'll drive ourselves onto their skinny fucking throats, our Hordes pouring into their world like puss from an open wound. Our children taking what little what they had, showing them just how...how human...nature truly is. How fallacious life can be. Like...like Hell, almost. And we'll spread. And grow...until everything is red.
~ Engard to the Chthonic Hordes as they begin their occupation of Earth
Everything rots...figuratively, literally, however the fuck. Rots until their's only soil resting between you and us. We've always been here. A mangled little figure in your head, teasing those wants, those lovelies, those pleasures...we're simply a little closer now.
~ The Red Hordes

Chthonics, also known as the Bleeding Sun, Hellkin, or simply Demons, are the demonic races, spawns, and factions of Hell, aligned under the longing to infest and spread out into the Multiverse. Like a twitching wave of mismatched flesh, they carpet Hell's floor, tearing at the stems of reality. Their red hordes scurrying through the surface things' worlds. Mongering the animosity raking within all conscious life. Wether through manipulation, war mongering, blood drive, regardless, they have dominated a third of the recognized Multiverse, all creatures they occupy wiltering. They are one of the three central factions that dominate the Seventh War arc, as well as well as the true main antagonists of the Deadskullable universe as a whole.

Be it directly or through other means, the Chthonic race wishes to "make all things whole again", to join Paradise, Hell, and Earth so that they may spread throughout all worlds freely, which they nearly accomplish beneath Zombros Engar's direction. In part because of their nature, the clans and hordes of the Bleeding Sun are very thinly held together beneath the guidance of the Twelfth Circle, as conflict within the empire is a daily occurrence. Currently, the Chthonic Hordes are formed of the Six Pillars of Hell, those being the Twelfth Circle, Luem Eleven, Wilter, Morning Star, Blightspawns, and the Underhordes, with the Twelfth Circle holding the most influence.

All things in Hell worship Engar with little less than a Stockholm febrility, masses of Chthonic priests gathering on the surface to give a communal praise to their Father. Their desires and Zombros' are interweaved with one another. Restless, driveling for an opportunity to delight their god, they bide time as the gateways inch to an opening. Waiting for an opportunity for intercession. Their numbers, technology, blood drive, and monstrous swarms alone allow them to rival the strength and gallantry of the Administration, as well as the combined effort of humanity. The faction itself was created by HeresJosh.

Personality[]

Beneath you, we stir, we repose, our eyes raising like a haze from the black. All things here are so...so careless. So primal. I long to be with them. To step on even ground. To feel the air.
~ The desires of Hell

By birth, the creatures of Hell are morally deformed, their views of reality and pleasure twisted beyond understanding. They're lives are described as endlessly tiring, their existences physically paining them to a point where they seek to escape reality through the sudden highs they receive from abusing others and themselves to an extent. Every fold and angle of their society centers around the wanting to consume and harm. Though their own desires and raptures vary, each demons view of life is grounded by their faith in Engar and their tempering hatred for everything that breathes on the surface. As to discourage free thought, a Hellspawn is kept dependent on its rulers for the entirety of its existence, fashioning it into an instrument the Clans may use however they desire. Any thoughts of preservation or compassion are completely alien to them. Of course, demons are capable of brushing through surface human emotions, such as anger, fear, drive, and shock. In the episode "Liability", a Hellspawn begins to experience emotion and reaches out to Katrina, though he soon becomes a culpability and is killed by a Wilter cultist.

The more depraved, primal creatures of the Chthonic race maintain a much simpler mindset, being conditioned and abused into a constant state of anger. They don't appear to have any sense of agency or consequence, pitching themselves into pits in hopes of tasting the treacly of a rival's flesh. As with all Children of Engar, they operate on a horde mentality, influenced only by an endless, chasming hunger growing within them. The only release they feel is when streaming through the temples of their god. They serve and slaughter with a mechanical simplicity. Their only faith placed in the marks scrawled onto the walls of their treasured Hellrunes. Blightspawns follow a much more matured line of thought. Dribbling for opportunity, they horde possessions, things of value, often abducting rival clan members to expand the slave culture their society has come to flourish off of. Greed and sloth are nearly admirable traits, with ones social standing determined by the "lovelies" in it's possession.

By fault, Engar's "inner circle" (mainly his closest allies including Ashley, Blomsky, and Mr. Hat) are subjected to overseeing the tortures of traitors, most of whom escaped. When put in a position of persecution, the higher class are shown to be cowardly and cunning, bribing their torturers with incredible amounts of power and wealth (although this rarely seems to be effective). As a collective race, the spawns of Hell are little more than impassive, raging instruments of Zombros, slavering at the idea of watching all society decaying once again.

Sub Races[]

The Chthonic Race is made up of several, smaller species, all native to Hell:

  • Ghalo/Janitors: The Ghalo, referred to as Janitors, are the base caste of Hell and form the labor-work force of the Chthonic Race. Weaker in their build, the Ghalo people were annexed into the Chthonic Empire through a terror campaign stretching through a ten year period, where they were rebred and biologically tailored by Hell's leadership. They live in a dazed state of mind, servicing their higher classes.
  • Akumi/Hellkin: Akumi are the unremitting backbone of the Chthonic Empire and the main antagonistic species of the Deadskullable canonicity. A ruthless, calculating armed force, the Hellkin impose Engar's will within and beyond the Empire's borders. Even at lower rankings in the Chthonic Military, footsoldiers make habits out of harassing captives and overseeing mass burnings being carried out. Hellkins serve as an extension of Zombros' presence, encouraging compliance in their occupants. They will often take advantage of their superior equipment and sanquinity. One of the five base sub races of the Chthonic species, no Akuma is left unmarked by Hell's warping energy and technology. The race as a whole has been reengineered and bred to the Council's liking. Hellkin Footsodiers are the first of Hell's inhabitants encountered by Katrine.
  • Ulkums/Orcs:
  • Druth/Colossals:
