Clóvis is the titular main protagonist of the Brazilian YouTube series Pokémon Clóvis.

Despite his role as the protagonist of the series, Clóvis is known for being a very aggressive and villainous character who constantly commits crimes in order to win battles and become a pokemon champion. Through the series he kept mistreating his Pokémon, stealing, cheating and killing in order to win battles and reach his goals, making him the main villain of the series.

He was created and dubbed by AlgunsBits.

Personality[]

Even through he is completely obssessed with Pokémon, he is a dimwit that barely knows anything about it, as he doesn't know what moves a Pokémon can use, thinks Dragonite is a terrible Pokémon and uses Magikarp all the time despite it being useless. Whenever he battles he never plays fairly and always cheats by either using illegal items or simply killing the trainer/pokémon.

Along with cheating, Clóvis is also willing to steal, assault and even murder people in order to reach his goals. When he killed a Pokémon for the first time, he felt bad about it and even gifted the owner a pokeball, but as time went on, Clóvis slowly lost his redeeming qualities and kept constantly cheating and commiting crimes while feeling zero guilty about it. Clóvis is also traitorous as he incriminated his partner (who helped him win the third gym), indirectly causing him to die just so he could win the Elite Four.

Biography[]

Start[]

The story starts with Clóvis on his room watching TV. His father appears and rants at Clóvis for being a jobless 28 year old that stays on his room all day, but Clóvis ignores and keeps watching TV. After a few days, Clóvis decides what is gonna be his job. He then tells his dad that he will become a Pokemon Trainer, his dad finds the idea ridiculous and starts laughing, but Clóvis ignores and goes on his journey.

Clóvis goes to Professor Oak's lab, sees a magikarp and states he wants it, but Professor Oak denies the request saying he owns the magikarp. However, Clóvis manages to knock out Oak, steals the magikarp, nicknames him "charizard" and runs away. After a while, he encounters with a bug catcher that he has meet with before. Clóvis reveals that he has become a Pokemon Trainer, but the other trainer says he is too old to be one and challenges clóvis to a fight. In the fight, Clóvis sends out "Charizard" and the trainer makes fun of Clóvis for not knowing the difference between a magikarp and a charizard. Then, instead of battling, Clóvis throws a pokeball at the trainer and succesfully catches him, making the trainer his second "Pokémon".

Collecting Gym Badges[]

Following his journey, Clóvis goes to the Rock Type Gym in Peter City and challenges Brock to a fight, with Brock saying he is too old to be a trainer but still accepting the challenge. Brocky sents out a Onix and Clóvis sents out his Magikarp. He keeps telling Magikarp to use moves he doesn't know such as "Thundershock" while Brock makes fun of him for knowing nothing about Pokémon. Angry, Clóvis throws Magikarp at Onix, making Onix choke and die. After witnessing the death of his Pokémon, Brock starts crying, Clóvis feels bad for him, picks up his badge, gives him a pokeball and runs away. The Bug Catcher from before comes out of the Pokeball dirty while screaming.

Later, Clóvis goes to a Pokemart but is unable to buy anything since he has is broke, and the owner advices him to get money by battling other trainers. Clóvis finds a random trainer but, due to the logic of the Pokémon games, he cannot move unless a trainer walks on his front. Clóvis takes advantage of that and steals all the stuff from the trainer, with the trainer not being able to fight back due to the Pokémon mechanics. After stealing all the stuff from the trainer, Clóvis puts down the trainer's pants and runs away. At some point, he encounters a trader, which asks for Clóvis's "Charizard". Clóvis denies but offers a Dragonite instead and, since he is really stupid, Clóvis trades it for a Kakuna. After walking for a while, Clóvis opens the Kakuna's pokeball and a defective Bulbasaur comes out of it, meaning Clóvis was scammed. Despite being scammed, He thinks the Bulbasaur is cool and gets happy over getting it.

With the Bulbasaur, Clóvis defeats the second gym leader off-screen and, after coming out of the gym, he encounters with the bug catcher. Clóvis asks who he is, and the Bug Catcher gets angry over the fact his rival already forgot about him. He reveals himself to be Clóvis's brother and asks for a battle. Clóvis sents out his Magikarp while Bug Catcher sents out his Kakuna and, since both Pokémon don't have attacking moves, the battle lasts hours. After a while, Clóvis realises nothing is effective, he spots a Team Rocket grunt, steals his gun and shoots at Kakuna, ending the battle. Clóvis's brother gets sad because his best Pokémon died and promises to get revenge.

After walking for a while, Clóvis encounters a tree, which is supposed to be cut by a HM, but since he doesn't know how to use Hms, he tries to destroy it by using magikarp, which fails since it doesn't have any useful moves. Clóvis then has another idea, he picks up a voltorb and tells him to self-destruct, and the area explodes. Along with the tree, three wild pokémon are also killed because of the explosion, but clóvis doesn't notice and moves on.

At some point, Clóvis goes to the Cerulean City Gym to try to get a badge, but keeps losing since his Pokémon are too weak. A old man then goes to Clóvis and advices him to get some rare candies while explaining what they are. Clóvis misundestands the advice and buys a lot of anabolic asteroids instead of rare candies. He applies all the asteroids to his Magikarp and it ends up evolving into a "bigger magikarp with a mustache" instead of a gyarados. Clóvis gets excisted and tries to beat the gym leader with his magikarp and, after a off-screen battle, he wins and gets the badge. The Gym is then shown destroyed and on fire, meaning that Clóvis destroyed it while battling.

At the Mall store in Celadon City, Clóvis attempts a heist with his gun but fails and gets arrested by the police. At the prison, He meets with his brother (which got arrested for being a Team Rocket member) and both start trash-talking each other. After a few days in prison, they end up forgiving each other and Clóvis' brother claims that Team Rocket is gonna raid the place and set the two free. However, instead of simply escaping with his brother, Clóvis steals his clothes while he's sleeping and escapes the prison with team rocket by pretending to be his brother. After his brother wakes up in prison and realises that Clóvis has abandoned him, he gets angry and swears revenge on Clóvis.

Trivia[]

  • Clóvis is very similar to Rusty, as both are villainous protagonists who constantly commit crimes in order to be a Pokémon Champion. However, Clóvis can be considered worse since rusty has plenty of redeeming qualities unlike Clóvis.
  • Despite all of his crimes, Clóvis was a well-liked character and many of AlgunsBits fans got sad when he died, and many wished for him to get a sequel.
