Jane: That Claude Daigle is a serial killer with a black hockey mask on, but why?

Henry: Once, ten years ago, your best friend, who, to me, is my girlfriend, repeatedly attacked him by beating Claude Daigle with the shoes, and he drowned in a quick amount of time in the river. Now, which is ten years later, Claude's been killing people at random, while going after Rhoda.

~ Jane Waltzingham and Henry McConnors on Claude Daigle and his motives.

Claude Daigle is an unseen character in the film The Bad Seed and the main antagonist of the fanfiction Return and redemption. He will return in the upcoming sequel Claude Daigle Lives.

He is the son of Hortense Daigle and Henry Daigle who won a penmanship medal, which resulted in Rhoda beating him with her cleated shoes, until he drowns, which kills him for the first time.

10 years later, he somehow is revived, and starts to kill people at random while chasing Rhoda. He is the archenemy of Rhoda McConnors (née Penmark), Jane Waltzingham, Henry McConnors, and Leroy Jessup.

Biography[]

The Bad Seed[]

For what lead up to Claude Daigle becoming the serial killer that he is during the events of Return and redemption, see here.

Return and redemption[]

Resurfacing[]

Somehow, Claude returned from the dead, and is first seen as he hides in a bush until seeing a man pull up in a white 1958 Plymouth Fury. He killed the driver by hurling him into a brick wall, then made off with his car to go to the military office where Kenneth Penmark, Rhoda's father, works at.

First kills[]

After Claude Daigle arrives at the office, Kenneth asks him how his day was going, until Claude killed him with both of his machetes at the same time, as Kenneth was screaming at his hockey masked wearing attacker. After Claude left the office, he sped off in his getaway vehicle. After arriving at Rhoda's old home, he saw Monica Breedlove, and after she asked him if he was the Daigle boy or not, Claude beat her with a frying pan, then he slashed across her left leg with his left machete, eventually killing her. After Claude saw Miss Fern, she tried to bring out his old self, but after he approached her, Claude twisted her hear 180 degrees, killing her, much to Leroy's fury.

First fight with Leroy[]

After Leroy screamed in rage, he fought Claude using his black glove with razors. Claude used his two machetes to fight Leroy. After some time of them fighting, Claude flings Leroy out the window, causing him to land in the dumpster. After that, Claude drives off in his stolen car.

Killing Christine Penmark and his second fight with Leroy[]

After Claude drove himself to the laundromat, he was asked by Christine Penmark if he was the Daigle boy, and he responded by poking her shoulders with his two machetes, then kills her by impaling her in the midsection with a laundry cart. After Leroy arrived, he was screaming in frustration for Claude to stop killing his intended victims. This results in them fighting for the second time, but while the two continued fighting, they showed more agility. As Leroy was preparing to impale Claude with the glove, he knew what would happen and dodged the attack, which caused Leroy to jump into a trash can.

Killing the random jogger and the twelve people at the Empire State Building[]

As he left, he saw Rhoda, Henry, and Jane. Then, he saw a random jogger, and killed her by crushing her with another garbage can. It was later revealed that he killed 12 people at the Empire State Building.

Final battle at the Empire State Building[]

Claude and Leroy were fighting one another at the Empire State Building. During the midst of the fight, Henry uses a cable to trip Claude, causing Leroy to feel that killing him for the second time is all too easy. However, Claude manages to knock Leroy over, and the[1] two continue fighting until Claude defeats him by grabbing Leroy by the legs and slamming his face onto the roof, then shoves him off the building. Rhoda grabs a crowbar that she had found during her second day of hiding, then she and Claide battle one another. Just as he is about to kill Rhoda, Henry shoots Claude on the left side of his head with an 1865 Spencer carbine rifle. After Claude got back up, Rhoda whacked him in the forehead with her crowbar, then Claude pushed her onto the roof. Rhoda then asked for a look at his face, causing him to take off his hockey mask, where he showed a scarred face.

After that, Claude reaches out to hoist her back up. but he goes for his machetes, and is about to kill her. Rhoda dodges, and Claude puts his hockey mask back on. Some time later, Rhoda whacked Claude's left hand, causing him to drop both his machetes (The left one fell on the roof as the right one fell on the streets). Rhoda picked up the left machete, and delivered the finishing blow to Claude by swiping him diagonally, causing him to fall 1,454 feet onto the street and then into the sewers.

It is unknown what happened to Claude and Leroy next, but it's likely they survived, and might appear in a sequel.

Personality[]

Claude started out as a timid and sensitive boy who rarely stood up to others. After he drowned, he became a monstorous serial killer, and wants to kill everyone that he sees, but is also determined to go after Rhoda and her friends.

Trivia[]

  • It is unknown what happened to the car that Claude stole, but since the original owner is dead, Jane or Henry might end up becoming the new owner of the car.
  • The reason why h2023graduate had Claude Daigle portrayed as a serial killer is because after he heard about Claude drowning, he felt interested in the Friday The 13th franchise.
