~ Codename to Luigi, Toad, and Toadette |
Codename 3 is the secondary antagonist of the YouTube channel Pixelcraftian, serving as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Codename 2) of the Gate to the Multiverse arc, the overarching antagonist of the Super Mario and the Green Thunder arc, the main antagonist of the Beyond the Bounds arc and a major antagonist in Super Mario Super Challenge. He is an artifact from the multiverse hub, alongside Codename 2 and the Otherworld Leader. After the two latter's deaths, Codename returns to get revenge on Mario and the others.
Appearance[]
In Gate to the Multiverse, Codename is based on Mario's appearance from Super Mario Bros. 3 but with a purple hue and blank eyes.
In Beyond The Bounds, Codename's clothes appear more worn and textured and his overalls are ripped slightly. His neck is covered in dried blood and is stitched on with a metal wire thanks to how he was killed by Future Mario.
Personality[]
Codename 3 is an unfeeling and sadistic man, whose only goal is the destruction of Mario's world, and complete control of the Multiverse Hub. Originally he served as a minion for the Otherworld Leader, alongside Codename 2. After both of their deaths, he becomes the new leader, going by the name "The Dealmaker." He is a determined and stoic person, but also very manipulative. He is very serious, but can also be shown to enjoy hurting others, as he is shown grinning after brutally murdering Solve and the Tally clone.
History[]
Origins[]
Codename 3, along with Codename 2 and the Otherworld Leader, were artifacts. Byproducts of the creation of the Multiverse. They were lucky to spawn near the center, with access to various portals. Not much of their early days are known, but at one point they partnered with another group of Artifacts, Objan, Steve, and Tumble. Upon learning about Objan's powers, the Leader and Codename 3 grab their hammers, with Codename proclaiming "it'll be just like old times." Steve suspects the Otherworld is up to something, when the Leader approaches Objan, asking him a favor. He tells him to 'snap his fingers.' It can be assumed whatever happens next leads to the deaths of both Tumble and Steve, as they do end up perishing.
Gate to the Multiverse[]
Codename, 2, and the Leader's first chronological appearance is in the five-episode animation series Gate to the Multiverse. They show up in the post-credit scene of Super Mario Combat, appearing through a portal. In the next episode, all three chase Mario through dimensions, before inevitably catching him. Codename serves as a goon in most of this series. He stayed by the Otherworld Leader's side during the Super Mario War, until Mario goes back in time to the events of Episode 1, right before the three Otherworld appear. Future Mario, along with the past versions of Mario and Luigi, take out Codename 3 by beating him to death and ripping off his head. They eventually manage to kill Codename 2 and the Otherworld Leader as well. However, Codename 3 had 2 extra lives, and respawned after Mario and the others had left. He used a spare wire to tie his head back on. Codename 2 and the Leader hadn't had any spare lives, so they died for good. Codename 3 was going to get revenge, but he needed to play the long game.
Super Mario and the Green Thunder[]
He makes a very small and limited appearance here, being the one to supply Mr. L with his weapons and parts to the BroBot. Codename's hand can be seen behind a bush, but other than that, he doesn't reappear.
Beyond the Bounds[]
Codename makes a much larger appearance in this series, being the main antagonist. Codename is first seen in the video Death's Demise, where is heard speaking to MX offscreen. As they are being eavesdropped by Tally, MX notices. As Tally runs, he is hit in the head with Codename's Otherworld Hammer, effectively putting him out of action. Codename's next major appearance is in Mario and the Great Chase, where he meets up with MX and Syobon. However, they are interrupted by none other than Mario (not the future one, but the past one.) Codename reveals himself to Mario, and explains how he survived. The party is crashed by Mr. L and Cherry, who also serve Codename's cause. A fight breaks loose between Mr. L, Cherry, and Mario. MX wishes to jump in, but Codename stops him. He assures MX that Mr. L and Cherry are surely able to take Mario out, but MX joins the fight. Mario does quite well against all three, until Codename sends in a clone of Tally. The clone overpowers Mario, but doesn't kill him. Codename approaches, demanding Mario get up. Mario tries but fails, falling back down. Codename calls him pathetic, before hitting him with the Otherworld Hammer, causing him to be encased in a glitchy black substance. Codename gives Mario's unconscious body to MX and Syobon, who leave through a portal. However, Luigi, Toad, Toadette, and Unfair Mario steal Mr. L's BroBot, confronting Codename and his goons. Another battle breaks out, but Luigi, Toadette, and Unfair Mario are all beaten and encased in the same glitchy substance. Codename and his minions capture all of them, but leave Toad behind.
Mario manages to escape their prison, and meet back with Toad. As they're planning their rescue mission, Codename meets up with Mr. L and Cherry, tricking them into entering his cloning device. Subsequently, they get imprisoned inside of his machine, and get cloned into Otherworld-like copies of themselves. Mario and Toad return to rescue their friends, but Codename and the clones defeat them, taking Mario prisoner. Codename reveals his master machine, a large device with Luigi, Toad, Toadette, Tally, Unfair Mario, Mr. L, and Cherry inside. Just as he's about to activate it, MX returns with Lucas and Solve. Codename asks for MX to throw him Solve, as he needs to set an example. Codename then stabs Solve in the neck with the sharp edge of the Otherworld Hammer, permanently killing him. After the murder, he throws an Otherworld Cherry into the machine, and activates it. The machine is about to clone Unfair Mario (which may be an attempt to revive the Otherworld Leader) but because of Unfair Mario's glitch life count, the machine breaks, much to Codename's surprise. This frees all of the prisoners, and another battle breaks out. Codename tries to strangle Mario, but Future Mario returns, stopping it. Codename uses the Otherworld Cherry on himself, powering up. He and Mario battle through a portal, ending up in various dimensions. After a bit, Mario uses the hammer to send them back to the Multiverse Hub. Codename laughs at the foolhardy move, but sees that all of his clones, plus MX and Syobon, have been defeated. He's surrounded by Mario and his friends. They all tag-team, beating Codename to a pulp, before Cherry shoots him in the back, making him loose the power-up. Codename is bloodied and dying. MX shows up, having not really enjoyed being in the real world, and refusing to help Codename. The heroes part ways, while Future Mario stays behind to talk with the dying Codename. Future Mario taunts him, but Codename tells him to save it for the next artifact. Future Mario is confused, but Codename explains that the Otherworld was merely one of the artifacts, and there are many, many more out there. Future Mario uses the Otherworld Leader's severed hand to finish Codename off, ending his life. However, after Future Mario leaves, Codename respawns using his last extra life he'd saved up. He laughs to himself, remarking about how he'll only return stronger, but he is impaled through the chest by Pixel, using a pickaxe. Pixel tells him he can't do this whole thing a third time, and Codename loses his last life, dying for good.
Beyond the Bounds (Bad Ending)[]
The following events are non-canon to Codename's story.
In the bad ending, everything plays out like normal, until right after Codename defeats Luigi, Toad, Toadette, and Unfair Mario. He gets a call from MX, who says Mario is dead. Codename is surprised, questioning it, but MX assures him that Mario is completely dead. Codename, still a bit taken aback, orders everyone to head back to the Multiverse Hub. They all head back, and Codename loads Luigi, Toad, Toadette, and Unfair Mario into the machine. He orders Mr. L and Cherry to go fetch Syobon, when MX returns, holding Lucas and Solve hostage. Codename commends MX's efforts, but betrays him, and hits MX with the Otherworld Hammer, knocking him unconscious. Codename then tells Lucas and Solve to get in the machine, or he'll make their deaths slow and painful. Mr. L and Cherry soon come back with Syobon, whom Codename throws into the machine instead of Luigi. Lastly, Codename takes Mario's corpse, and puts it in in place of Unfair Mario. Starting up the machine, Codename laughs to himself, remarking "the destruction.. of all creation!"
