“ | Lieutenant Commander Series: (*held down by Lanthanum's men*) YOU BASTARD! (*fast, almost incoherent*) Why did you let them fuck my family?! Why'd you fucking do it, huh?! What the fuck did my love and my kids do to you?! What did they, what did they, what did they, what did they- (*breaks down sobbing*) Commander Lanthanum: (*completely unaffected)* I didn't order them to torture your family. I merely said to kill them. Regardless, the job is done. Series: (*quivering*) You demonic fuck... Lanthanum: I valued you greatly. You were a nigh-indispensable asset. But if you're going to act like this, I can't have you around anymore. After all you've done for me, I hate to do this. (*to his men*) Take him away. Series: (*being dragged away, utterly defeated*) No, no, no, no... Lanthanum: A long time ago, you told me to "toughen up." Well, how about now? |

“ | I didn't enjoy what I did. It was...grueling, quite frankly. For innumerable months I've been wrestling with myself over whether what I was doing was worth it. But now I've finally decided...I wouldn't have done anything differently. I’ve no regrets. | „ |

Fraser Lanthanum, more commonly known as Commander Lanthanum or simply Lanthanum, is the heroic-turned-villainous protagonist of ACT4583's unnamed space war story.
He was a high-ranking military commander of humanity's space force. Initially, he was the most moral among his fellow military officers (including the trigger-happy Lieutenant Commander Series and the brutal Lieutenant Vargas), guiding his soldiers, punishing unnecessary cruelty, and overall fighting the Distroidians with humanity's best interest in mind. However, as the war becomes more brutal, he becomes increasingly willing to dispense with more of his soldiers or use extreme tactics, to the point where even his allies begin to question his methods. Any semblance of good intention is quashed when he covertly sends a gang of his most sadistic soldiers, led by Guy Quintard, to murder Series' wife and children so he can pin the blame on the Distroidians and emotionally manipulate the childish Series for his cause. When he is ultimately imprisoned, Lanthanum admits that he didn't derive any sadistic joy from the atrocities he committed, but he was still fully willing to do what he did.
