Corpse_01 also known as The Hobo was a minor character in the video game Half-Life 2 (more prominently in its leaked beta). As well as being a more major character in Garry's Mod, specifically it's DLC, DarkRP.
Half-Life 2 (leaked beta version)[]
*NOTE: The following passage is non-canonical*
Corpse_01, whose real name at this time was unknown, was a normal guy, until the Combine invaded Earth and he was shot point blank in the face by a particularly trigger happy Metrocop. Unsurprisingly, such an attack proved fatal, and his dead body was disposed of into a sewage drain. However, soon a local Cremator was on its break when a can of Pepsi that it had just downed five minutes ago returned to him, with a vengeance. The Cremator then urinated into a nearby sewage drain. The same drain which contained Corpse_01. The radioactive urine of The Cremator caused Corpse_01 to return to life. Corpse_01 was alive again, however, his face had been completely destroyed, his skin had been severely damaged due to the Cremator's radioactive urine, and his frontal lobe had been severely damaged, causing him to forget most of his past life, including his name, as well as driving him insane. Although when the radioactive Combine-brand urine coursing through his veins did make him immune to the poison gas that polluted the skies. From this point forward he went by the name Corpse_01 and spent his days terrorizing the streets of City 17 and generally being a violent nuisance to the citizens of the city, who were already miserable enough. At this point, the city's suicide rates skyrocketed. Several years later, when Gordon Freeman and the resistance began leading their crusade against the Counsil, Corpse_01 wanted in. Corpse_01 began stalking Gordon Freeman throughout his journey, narrowly avoiding death several times himself, in the process. However, his plan came to an end when the G-Man, who was also stalking Gordon, killed him, himself, after getting tired of Corpse's shenanigans.
Half-Life 2 (final version)[]
Corpse_01, whose real name at this time was unknown, was a depressed hobo when the Combine invaded Earth. Due to the Combine not counting for the number of Earth's citizens, Corpse_01 was forced to wear a particularly old, obsolete and outdated uniform, much to his humiliation. Corpse_01 was always looked down upon and was harshly treated by City 17's citizens for his societal status, this was only doubled down upon with the recent changes made to his lifestyle. He began lashing out against the civilians, when they would torment him. Whenever, they're abuse towards him would get worse, the punishment would follow. Before long, he had maimed over 50 citizens of City 17. He became avoided at all costs by most citizens. He enjoyed his newfound power and began randomly harassing powerless citizens for no reason, other than to experience the rush of power. Eventually, a young girl would arrive. She was very well liked and was very kind to all of her fellow citizens. Corpse_01 hated her with a passion. One day, he thought it would be a funny prank to shove the girl into a particularly short-tempered Metrocop. Other townsfolk caught wind of this plan and where horrified and disgusted. They decided that they had enough of his abuse, and this was the final straw. One day, a citizen ran behind him and shoved him into the Metrocop. This led to the cop blasting Corpse_01's face off, killing him. However, this was not the end of him. A bored scientist named Issac Kleiner would find his body and was saddened by the death of a fellow human. He decided that he would use his technology to bring him back to life. He, with the assistance of Barney Calhoun, would do this. Corpse_01 was back, but his face had been completely destroyed, his skin had been damaged due to the experiments that was done to his body, and his brain was fried, causing him to go completely insane. After this, remembering his betrayal, he then made it his mission to make the citizens of City 17's lives a living hell, as revenge for the painful death they caused him. He would do this. Stalking, attacking, stealing from, and generally torturing whoever he pleased. The Metrocops and fellow Combine didn't care enough about the citizens to do anything about it either. When he heard of Gordon Freeman and the resistance's plan to take down Wallace Breen, he was mortified, as this meant that he would lose his grip on City 17. He began stalking Gordon and attempting to thwart his plan and even kill him, killing countless others in the process. However, his plan came to an end when the G-Man, who was also stalking Gordon but for other reasons, sent him to another dimension, where he wouldn't interfere with his plans anymore.

G-Man's pocket dimension, also known as The G-Mod, was a state that was ruled by G-Man, himself, that he had been sending random people that got in his way, generally annoyed him, or just because he felt like it for the last several years. When Corpse_01 arrived in this dimension, he awoke in the center of the town that was called Rp_downtown. Here, he resumed doing what he did best, which was being a public menace to society. Unable to find any jobs willing to hire him due to his psychosis, unsightly appearance, and odor, he returned to his life as a hobo. The citizens of Rp_downtown where far crueler than the citizens of City 17. The police force where both more sadistic and were totally incompetent. This all fueled Corpse_01's rage, or as he was now known as The Hobo. He began publicly terrorizing the citizens, in even more sadistic and cruel manners than before. One day, a gun salesman arrived and, using the small fortune he had stolen, Corpse_01 bought the gun seller's entire stock. This made him far more dangerous than he had ever been before. His kill count immediately skyrocketed. The citizens of Rp_downtown where totally helpless against Corpse's wrath, and the police where too incompetent to oppose him. Even the most talented thieves, hitmen, bounty hunters, and vigilantes where too terrified to attack him. This angered Mayor G-Man, who saw the society he had built being destroyed by this man, as well as the many others that followed in his footsteps of chaos and anarchy. Mayor G-Man was also the head of Rp_downtown's mafia. So, he would make several plans to send his best mafiosos to attack Corpse. This seemed to be the perfect plan, and that after this, everything would return to normalcy. However, none of his mafiosos would prevail. Corpse would continue his reign until one day deciding to kick back and take a brief hiatus, to focus on himself more. After all, since the invasion of the Combine, he hadn't had much time to himself. He found himself frequently meditating, using medicinal marijuana for recreational purposes, and taking scenic walks through town, after all, no one would dare bother him. One day, he would fine another hobo, but not just any hobo, but a man that was known as the Hobo King. Hobo King, whose real name was Charple, and Corpse_01 soon found an understanding with each other and found each other to be solid partners. Charple was once a man much like Corpse, actually being a serial killer during his days before being taken to The G-Mod. He was known for his cruelty and anarchy. However, one day he decided to invest in large amounts of marijuana, which gave him a more peaceful outlook on life, although he would still kill if the situation called for it. Corpse and Charple would soon become known as a dynamic duo in Rp_downtown's criminal underworld. A hitman, bounty hunter, thief or kidnapper could not strike one without striking the other. Ironically, at some point they were likely more feared than the mafia. This would anger the thieves guild, who before this had a tight grip on the town, being the mafia's one rival. The guild saw this as a declaration of war and would follow suit. Frequent brawls in the streets, attempted assassinations and heists would break out between the two sides. With Charple and Corpse gladly taking part in foiling the plans of the guild and murdering their members. However, this high was short lived. One day, the guild would hire the infamous kidnapper brothers, to capture the two and bring them to the guild's sewer base. The kidnapper brothers struck Corpse and Charple while they were resting at their compound. The brothers engaged the duo in battle, with one of the brothers dying in the process after being shot in the face by Corpse. Charple fought the other to the best of his ability, but it was futile. The surviving kidnapper brother proceeded to sedate and capture Charple. This deeply angered Corpse, who then proceeded to follow him from afar, even infiltrating the guild's base. However, it was all for not as Charple was executed by the Guild's leader, Atomic. Filled with rage, Corpse would open fire, murdering several thieves, the kidnapper, and mortally wounding Atomic before having to flee the premise due to his own injuries. But, by the time he escaped the sewers, the police force were awaiting him. Attempting to fight them off proved to be a terrible mistake, as Corpse would only be further wounded before being thrown into a jail cell. Corpse would spend the rest of his three remaining days in this cell, before his cellmate, Skully, would murder him.
Personality[]
Corpse_01 was a cruel, sadistic and bitter person. Every action of his was fueled by hate and wrath. He was a particularly violent and unhinged person, that was also willing to kill or destroy anyone or anything that stood in the way of his achieving his goals. He despised compassion, as it was a feeling that he was totally void of. He also wasn't particularly intelligent, with most of his escapes being more so due to luck, then quick wit.
Appearance[]
Corpse_01's face, his most identifiable feature, was totally destroyed, leaving only fried or roasted skin remaining. The rest of his body was also brutally scarred either due to the Cremator's radioactive urine, or due to Kliener's experimentation. He is always seen wearing his old and very dirty City 17 uniform.
