Costume is a minor antagonist in the Friday Night Funkin' mod Mario's Madness, serving as the antagonist of The End. He is also the final opponent fought in Classified Castle and the overall final opponent fought in the Warp Zone.

Despite appearing in Classified Castle, a world dedicated to SM64: Classified, Costume's appearance in the mod has elements taken from a different story entirely, a Spanish creepypasta known as Mario Bros Asesino.
Mario Bros Asesino Story[]

According to the story, a man named Mike Robertson was a megafan of the Mario series, who, despite his age, was eagerly anticipating the release of the Nintendo 64, hoping to win one in a competition. However, when it turned out that the game was rigged, Mike got upset, causing him to be made a fool of and beaten. In retaliation, Mike donned a Mario costume and took his revenge on the host's family using a knife before disappearing into the night.
Whether or not this is the real Mike Robertson or it is even Mike Robertson, a copy created by Stanley to get rid of Boyfriend and Girlfriend, or something else entirely is unclear, although it should be noted that Costume is in Stanley's domain.
The End[]
When Boyfriend and Girlfriend celebrate getting away from Classified Luigi, the couple decided to pose in front of the local Mario-a-thon merchandise to take a photo, when Girlfriend suddenly disappeared. The Mario mascot starts moving on its own, getting up and challenging Boyfriend. When the rapper proves himself as a notable opponent, Costume reveals that he has Girlfriend in his clutches. By the song ends, Boyfriend and Girlfriend get away, and Costume fades away once more.
Appearance[]
The Costume itself is a grayscale version of Mario, albeit with a much broader appearance, hollow eyes, and a handlebar mustache. It wears a black shirt, gray overalls and shoes, and light-gray gloves. Costume wields a bloodied knife in the final act of The End.
It is unknown what the person underneath the costume looks like, if there is anyone at all.
Personality[]
There is very little to say about Costume's personality, due to his only spoken lines being reused voice clips from Mario himself. He does not seem to have any qualms with attempting to kill Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but that is about all that is known.
If he truly is Mike Robertson, or at least a representative of him, then his role as a superfan of the Mario series has led him to don a Mario costume, becoming a twisted facsimile of the plumber. He may seem threatened by Boyfriend and Girlfriend taking what he believes to be rightfully his.
If he is just a part of Stanley's A.I., then Costume lacks any sort of agency, serving only as an extension of Stanley's desire to force Boyfriend and Girlfriend out of his land.
If he's something different altogether, then it's unknown what his personality is. Likely, he'll be resentful and angry and would want Boyfriend and Girlfriend dead in his hands.

- According to NateTDOM, The End was originally just going to be Costume and Boyfriend singing while Costume was only sitting in a room.[1] It was changed later on when the song was finished.
- The scream before The End is taken directly from Half-Life 2, specifically from a Zombie. This was present in the original video that Costume was featured in.
- In Seek's canon, he and mike from the creepypasta still are the same person and many people should know this.
