Crackers is a major antagonist in season 1 of the Adult Swim fan-show Rhetorical, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Eat Thy Ants".

He is the evil temporary pet parrot that Bowie adopts, but later turned out to be a slave owner that enslaved at least one hundred anteaters to find a treasure that never actually existed.

He is voiced by Bruce Dow.

History[]

Crackers was owned by Antarctic refugees that rescued him while fleeing from the Amazon. Everyday, he heard as his owners talked about a treasure in Antarctica and soon, he became their map coordinator. However, the refugees where later found and executed, leaving Crackers alone. He was very depressed for a while, however he vowed to someday find the treasure and avenge his late owners.

Years later, he was adopted by Bowie as a temporary pet while the animal shelter. While Melissa did not approve of this, Cracker proved to be a good companion as he listened to all her stories and watched Modern Family with her. However, one day he talked Bowie into taking him to the Sahara dessert, promptly named "Old Antarctica". Once there, Crackers revealed his true, villainous self. He tricked Bowie into taking him there so he can continue the search for the "Treasure of Old Antarctica", but his methods are very cruel: He had enslaved around one hundreds anteaters from the amazon to dig for the treasure. However, they can't eat any insects or they shall be punished by being killed and sent to China to be turned into products and medicine.

Bowie, of course found this unethical and told Crackers to stop. However, Crackers then ordered his right-hand-man, Dick to knock out Bowie and take him back to New York. However, on the way there Bowie managed to fall conscious and attacked Dick. He then steered the helicopter back to the Sahara to stop Crackers. Once there, Bowie lured the anteaters out of the giant slavery camp, and Crackers caught him. Crackers then attempted to claw Bowie's neck open, but Bowie fought back and the two fall into a hole. Crackers then noticed that the treasure was found, but it was not real treasure as it was actually a very old book. Crackers felt devastated about what he had done, and felt awful for all the cruelty that went on. He then promised Bowie to make things right, and as we see at the end of the episode, Crackers had convinced a new, permanent owner to open a funding to save anteaters of all kind.
