Biography[]
Cruella De Vil was a fashion designer with a particular obsession with animal furs. Seeking to create a luxurious coat, she had her henchmen, Jasper and Horace Badun, kidnap ninety-nine dalmatian puppies with the intent on skinning them. However, the puppies were saved by the dalmatian parents Pongo and Perdia. Cruell attempted to give chase, but crashed her car and was left empty-handed on the side of the road.
Later on, Cruella is among the villains gathered by Maleficent and the Evil Queen, working on a way to undo their fates. Sharing a distaste for Ursula the Sea Witch, the villains cast a spell that banished her away. Cruella, despite lacking in the mystic arts like some of her allies, seemingly contributed items to use in magic spells.
Cruella schemes with the other villains on how to get revenge. Newcomer Dr. Faciller reveals that he knows of a way they can change fate, encouraging the villains to cast a spell to reverse time. Though the spell seemingly fails, it actually frees Ursula.
Faciller tells the villains about an item known as the Sundial of Cronus, where the ancient titan of time Cronus was imprisoned, that allows its user to control time. They discover that they would need to use the dial under a blood moon for it to work, and Maleficent reveals that she can make one with her magic if provided the sundial. Faciller tells them that the dial is protected at the Princess Academy, and the Evil Queen goes in disguise to try and retrieve it.
While she waits, Cruella talks with Yzma, Gaston, Mother Gothel, and Dr. Faciller about how they have made "bad look good" with their beauty and fashion. It is then that Faciller introduces Vanessa, really Ursula in disguise. Despite knowing about Vanessa's true nature, Cruella and Gothel elect to not tell the others that she has been freed.
However, the Evil Queen returns unsuccessful, revealing that a supposed envoy from Atlantica came and took the dial. They then realize that the spell that seemingly failed was one that Faciller used to free Ursula from her banishment, and Ursula has the dial. Cruella and Gothel attempt to sneak out, but are stopped by Maleficent and chastized by the others. Ursula reveals herself, and she and Faciller reveal that the dial can only be used by a god or the direct descendant of one, and as Ursula is the daughter of Poseidon, she is the only one that can use it. She offers a deal, but the other villains refuse and she and Faciller leave.
Cruella and the others ponder what to do. While some want to consider Ursula's offer, the Evil Queen realizes that they could resurrect fellow villain and god Hades to use the dial for them. However, his soul is trapped in the River Styx, and the only magic strong enough to bring him back is that of the Black Cauldron in the land of Morva. The villains plot to invite the Cauldron's keepers, the Witches of Morva, to them in a fake exchange for the Magic Mirror while Captain Hook and Prince Hans Westergaard go to Morva and steal the Cauldron. Cruella is forced to go as well despite her objections, serving as her punishment for her betrayal. Before leaving, she goes to the Lair's tavern and shares a drink with Yzma.
The ship sets sail, but is attacked by Ursula. The villains escape, butCruella opts to stay behind at the shore and watch the things they were able to save.
