Finding Nemo[]
Marlin and his wife Coral were enjoying the view of their new reef and anemone home with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The two are seen having fun and admiring the nearby neighborhood and later watching their eggs sleep. After goofing around inside the anemone, they leave only to discover that the barracuda was watching them, and that everyone else has fled. Marlin orders Coral to go inside the anemone, however, she ignores him in favor of the babies and swims towards them, attracting the barracuda, which speeds towards her and the babies. Marlin in shock reacts quickly and immediately swims to his wife's aid, only for the barracuda to engage in a short battle with him leading to him whacking Marlin with his tail, knocking him unconscious. He eats Coral and all of the eggs except Nemo due to him not noticing him. The barracuda was not seen again, however, his impact on Marlin led to the latter becoming incredibly paranoid and overprotective, which caused Nemo to get tired of his father's overprotectiveness and becoming rebellious, and thus led to the entire story.
Finding Marlin[]
The Barracuda returns as the main antagonist of Finding Marlin, and is now known as "Cuda". Having learned of Nemo's existence, Cuda tries to find and eat him in order to make Marlin's life more tragic. While Cuda is trying to make Nemo fear him some more so he will suffer the same fate as his own mother.
Trivia[]
- He was originally supposed to have a small amount of more screen time. However, due to those working on the film fearing that children would be frightened of the barracuda, these ideas were dropped.
- Most eager fans are still struggling for Finding Marlin to develop soon because they had enough of Cuda for being responsible for making marlin felt overprotected and traumatized since he didn't save coral on time, while nemo is unaware about this horrible disaster.
- In real life, barracudas don't eat clownfish. Which iconically Cuda is similar to Hopper from A Bugs Life both have last names of their species, both want to be more superior than others, both hates being questioned, but yet they are cowards to someone who's the real apex predator.
- Cuda served as the opposite to Gill: Where in the first film unlike Marlin, Gill was trying to teach Nemo how to escape on his own out of harm's way without any help or the words becoming brave on his own. Cuda on the other hand wants Nemo to fear and traumatized in terror by him just as Marlin had, just to make him submit not everything in the ocean is safe.
