Daddy Dearest is the main antagonist of the mod, Friday Night Funkin': HD, serving as the main antagonist of Week 1, the unseen overarching antagonist of Weeks 3 and 4, and one of two main antagonists (alongside his wife) of Week 5.

He was originally one of Mommy Mearest's many Imp henchmen until the latter made him into the Daddy Dearest he is today. He isn't the first, and won't be the last.

Appearance[]

Daddy Dearest looks mostly the same as to how he did in the vanilla game aside from the different artstyle. However, he is noticeably sweating during "Dadbattle".

Personality[]

Like most of the characters, this version of Daddy Dearest has more of a talkative personality than his original counterpart. He puts on a rough and intimidating demeanor, as he immediately showed a dislike towards Boyfriend when meeting him and challenged the latter to a rap battle to be with his daughter. Despite this, he can be somewhat immature and childish. As after being defeated and humiliated by Boyfriend in Week 1 in front of a crowd, he hired his ex, Pico to assassinate him, to which he even admits that it was petty.

His dislike of Boyfriend extends from him simply dating his daughter. In Week 5, Daddy Dearest reveals that his singing talent is "entrancing" and that he has special abilities he isn't even aware of. This makes him afraid that he could kill both him and his wife, so he wishes to be rid of him either by scaring him off or killing him. This also shows that, even though he is a (seemingly) powerful demon, Daddy Dearest can be intimidated and afraid of others if they pose a threat to him.

While he does care for his wife and daughter, going as far as to cook two meals for the latter, he does not always get along with them. As such, he doesn't care about his daughter's feelings whenever he tries to kill Boyfriend, even gleefully smelling when it appears he died at the end of Week 5. Furthermore, he and Mommy Mearest start bickering when they can't decide whether they can't decide if he should die or become their slave.

Trivia[]

This version of Daddy Dearest is confirmed to have hung out with and killed Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.
- In a twitter post revealing this dialogue, the main artist for the original FNF game, PhantomArcade, replied and said this was canon. However, he may have been joking.
