Man: That serum.. I inject myself with that thing every single day. It is not supposed to brainwash you. It is supposed to evolve you. Turn you into a new version of Superman. That’s why I am so strong. However, I did this for revenge.
~ Daniel revealing his motives and true identity to Maximillian and Liana

Daniel Obson, also known as The Ordinary Man, is the secondary antagonist of the 2024 fanfilm Bull.

He is the son of the Russian ruler and the famous doctor John Obson as well as the brother, former ally and second arch-nemesis (after The Bull, of course) of the protagonist Maximillian Bane.

He serves as the right-hand commander of his father, intending to accomplish their goal of eliminating the carnivore society of Ukraine and later, the rest of the world, not caring how many lives his operations cost. He works closely with Vladimir Tekerov and is affiliated with his deceased brother.

He is portrayed by Chris Pratt, who also portrayed Gaston in Beauty and The Beast and will portray Tom Masters in the Marvel Fanfilm Universe feature Amazing Grace.

History[]

Daniel Obson is the son of Doctor John Obson and the brother of Maximillian Bane, who went to live in Ukraine and ever since they haven't seen or contacted each other. Despite this, Maximillian still thought his brother is a good person.

Daniel at first seemingly came to show support and help both Maximillian and his wife Liana on their tasks. He asked an old woman named Katina where Maximillian is. She told him his address and also said that he might not be at home. Daniel then entered Maximillian's flat and warned them that the Russian authorities know he is the abandoned son of John Obson and that under their father's orders, Vladimir Tekerov and the Russian forces are currently looking for them. During the entire beginning of the fanfilm, Daniel pretends to be an ally to the heroes. However, he only does this to gain their trust so he can lore them into his own trap.

He gets dressed up in a mechanical supervillain suit and disguises himself as The Ordinary Man, which is his identity as a Russian secret agent. He enters a Ukrainian farm with his guards and Vladimir backing him, which is where Liana Bane works together with the farmer and her employer Adam Jacko. The Ordinary Man declares that the farm now belongs to the Russian vegan society, and prepares to take Liana to be experimented by his scientists infront of The Tsar of Russia. Liana says she's not afraid of him and that he keeps hiding behind his mask. Out of rage, he kills Adam Jacko and attempts to sabotage Liana, just before she throws at him and his soldiers a grenade, and she runs off, leaving him alive and well but Vladimir injured and the other soldiers dead. She runs into a corner in the farm's control room, where the security cameras are. Shortly after, The Ordinary Man enters the place and the two start fighting each other. The battle is rough, and The Ordinary Man reveals his motives, claiming that she knows nothing about him and his true identity. Meanwhile, under Daniel's orders, Vladimir pays Maximillian's boss Boryslav Muduo ransom, causing him to join the vegan cause and side with The Russians. After Borylsav's death scene, Daniel succeeds in sabotaging Liana with the help of his soldiers. To make matters worse, Vladimir hands Maximillian as a hostage over to Daniel. Daniel places the couple inside a truck, and drives to the facility along with his two captives, his soldiers and Vladimir. As Maximillian explains to Liana that he wants to experiment mainly on her to mold her as a new deadly sentient weapon, The Ordinary Man intervenes and he claims that he injects the serum into his body every single day, just to prove his point that it doesn't fully brainwash anyone. He then reveals his true identity to his brother and to Liana. He also states that his top motive is to have his revenge on Maximillian for succeeding in life more than him.

He then puts the two captives off the truck and starts his attempt of killing them, experimenting on them and reviving them as zombies. However, before he could harm the two protagonists, The Bull enters the facility and toggles with the electricity of the place in an unknown way. He firstly blames Maximillian for turning the lights off, but quickly realizes that it's The Bull itself doing this. He sees the enraged bull and tries to calm it down, claiming that he's on it's side and offering it to kill Maximillian and Liana instead. However, The Bull sticks his horn into Daniel, before shooting laser at him, causing Daniel to burn on fire and his soul to disappear from the entire existence.

Personality[]

Daniel Obson is believed to be a good man according to his brother Maximillian, who claims that Daniel was trying to do right on the wrong side of the battle. Daniel even seemed to come and try his best to save his brother from harm. However, this was only at first so Daniel could gain full trust from his brother and Liana.

He later dressed up as The Ordinary Man, as he was shown to be a warmongering, ruthless and power mad commandant of The Russian forces, believing that vegans should rule the world at all costs. He is a ruthless killer, who intended to do his father's work, not caring who he has to kill and how many lives he should take.

As he revealed his true identity, he stated that he wants revenge on his brother despite his brother trusting and loving him for who he is. Daniel's facade ended and he eventually payed his price for what he did, as he was no longer even existing after his death.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being the secondary antagonist of the fanfilm, he is the most hated and cruel villain in the story and he did much more personal damage than The Bull in some ways. While The Bull was a tragic monster, Daniel was a merciless traitor and double agent.
  • It is unknown if he knew that his father is anything to do with Satan or not, as he seemed to serve his father with no question but without knowing and/or caring the full extent of his father's evilness.
