Darth Maul, also known as The Lipstick-Face Demon, The Man With Fire In His Face, or simply Maul, is the main antagonist of the 2010 film Insidious. He was once a sith apprentice who became a sith lord and a dark ruler. However, after his fall from grace he became trapped in The Further, until discovering that he could teach children the ways of the sith, in order to gain enough power to break free of his prison. He thrives off creating fear and chaos through the galaxy. He enjoys causing terror, pain and suffering.
Biography[]
Darth Maul was once a zabrack sith apprentice, trained under Chancellor Palpatine, who later became Darth Sidious. He was trained in the ways of the sith. He became a cruel and sadistic monster. Eventually, he was hired to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui Gon Jen. He managed to kill Qui Gon, but was sliced in half by Obi Wan. He fell into a large garbage disposal where he rebuild his legs with mechanical parts. After many years he became all the more evil, and soon found himself losing the sanity he had left. He soon found himself on a planet that had been turned into a intergalactic dump. It was here, that he found a vinyl record by a musician from planet Earth, who called himself, Tiny Tim. Maul was particularly fond of "Tiptoe Through The Tulips". He soon began doing research on the people of Earth. He discovered that no force users inhabited the planet. He hatched a plan that he would attack and enslave the people of Earth and become a all powerful force user. He was visited by what appeared to the a elderly woman who claimed to be from the planet Earth, she called herself the bride in black. She promised Maul that she would transport him safely to Earth. Maul took this opportunity only to discover that this was a lie. He was actually transferred to a planet called the further. He discovered that he was now trapped in this planet, with no way out. He soon hatched a plan to kidnap and train yyoung children in the ways of the sith, so he could create a army of apprentices and gain more power. He discovered a boy named Dalton Lambert, who was unknowingly a force user, and the son of a another unknowing force user. Maul saw his opportunity and took it. He tried numerous times and eventually succeeded in kidnapping the boy. After this, he began to train Dalton in the ways of the dark side. Dalton would be forced to train everyday by Maul, who gained more power from his sorrowful parents' fear. Soon, two ghost investigators named Specs and Tucker arrived. Maul took interest in Stephen, nicknamed Specs, due to his higher intellect and vast knowledge of members of the star fleet. Maul decided to start training Stephen in the ways of the force as well as Dalton. However, he found it more difficult to do so as Stephen was a grown adult man. Along with this, Maul was incorrectly identified as a demon, by Ellie Rainer and Tucker. Maul began sending ghosts from the further to haunt the people who where staying in Dalton's house, as a way to create a distraction. He tried to kidnap Stephen during this time, and almost succeeded. He managed to find a object very similar to that of his lightsaber called a sword. He used the sword to attack Tucker, but he was overpowered by Josh Lambert, Dalton's father. Daul was cast away back to his home planet, and began hatching yet another plan.
