Death, also known as The Darkness is the overarching antagonist of the entire DLC universe, specifically the overarching antagonist of the DLC book, as well as one of two overarching antagonists (Alongside Ace) of the DLC Extended Universe.
IT is the humanoid version of death and the ruler of HELL, as opposed to the devil in most stories. IT is also the creator of both Dallas and Caleb, leading to the events that follow.
Biography[]
Caleb and Dallas find themselves seated at a table with Death, who reveals that he has created them for a special mission. Death explains that they have been tasked with locating the treasure of Bermeja, promising to fulfill their dreams and allow them to meet two girls they desire if they succeed. However, Caleb and Dallas wonder how they will get from their current location to Earth. Death proposes creating a massive storm that will transport them to Atlanta, Georgia, the closest place to the treasure's island. He sets a meeting in three days and instructs them to be present in the room. Excited by the prospects, Caleb and Dallas leave Death's presence, eager to embark on their adventure.
Later, Death calls for Caleb to meet with him for instructions about his journey to a new world. He was told to go to Atlanta where a ship would take him to an island. Death showed him a picture of a stone structure where the treasure would be located. Although, Death doesn't know that Caleb planned to use two girls to double cross him. Death gave him a book called "Bermeja: The Treasure Within" and a necklace with a heart and two crossed swords.
While Caleb is in the meeting, Dallas reads a book that states: Death was a life stage, all right. If someone manages to kill Death, they can BECOME Death. It was unclear to Dallas why Caleb wanted to be Death, but he never gets an answer.
When Dallas goes to meet with Death, he gets the same information as Dallas. However, Death does not give Dallas a book, assuming Caleb will give it to him (Which he does not).
Death is later seen making the storm to send the boys to Earth. With some magic spells, he makes the storm and sends them away.
