Demon Steves are major antagonists in the Steve Cinematic Universe. They serve as major antagonists in Rainbow Quest and Steve Legends, and cameo antagonists in Twisted Rainbow.
In Rainbow Quest, they serve as unseen antagonists in Seasons 1-3, the overarching antagonists of Season 4, the secondary antagonists of Season 5 and mentioned antagonists in Seasons 6 and 7. In Steve Legends, they serve as unseen antagonists in Season 1 and the secondary antagonists of Season 2.
They are a race of demonic, interdimensional entities that originate from a hellish realm known as the World Below, a parallel world to the World Beyond where the souls of evil Steves go when they pass on. The Demon Steves are figures of ancient legends, having apparently invaded the overworld several times through the usage of portals, kidnapping Steves and mutating them into Demon Steves.
The Demon Steves were also responsible for invading the overworld thanks to the death of Dread Steve and gaining their powers from The First Curse, resulting in the Steves creating the first Rainbow Steve who would later go on to become Void Steve, making them partially indirectly responsible for starting the events of the series and leading to the creation of the Darkness.
They are based off their original singular counterpart.

~ M talking about the Demon Steves. |
The Demon Steves originate from a world that can best be described as the epitome of evil itself. The Demon Steves are territorial, predatory and single-minded entities that rely on their power and the ramifications of their power rather than actually thinking strategically.
Despite their inability to act as truly cunning enemies, the Demon Steves are in no way stupid, and although they lack the proper preparation skills for planning, they're extremely intelligent when it comes to psychologically tormenting their victims. In the case of Sabre, they were even able to temporarily make Sabre question if what he was seeing was even real or just a figment of his imagination. The Demon Steves have even shown that they're capable of utilizing their abilities to pay mind games with their enemies, such as Sabre's aforementioned second visit to the World Below as well as his first visit, with their most notable victims being the surviving residents of the outskirt village left near-abandoned due to the Steves they had made disappear. The Demon Steves are capable of inflicting severe trauma into their victims, as the memories of several Steves who tried to remember their friends were greeted with sadness, pain and even emotional conflicts, such as questioning their own identities.
Due to his constant persistence against the Demon Steves, they appear to view Sabre in low regards, seeing him as more of an annoyance with his constant failed attempts at reaching the World Below. Even when Sabre is able to escape the World Below, the Demon Steves aren't worried about him, as they appear almost confident that Sabre will eventually mess up and cause another shift in reality, ruining his plans to fix the issue surrounding the Demon Steves.
Despite their ruthless nature, after the death of Void Steve, the one who began leading the Demon Steves, the Demon Steves seemed to understand that Sabre and his allies were much more powerful than they fought, as well as the fact that Shadow Sabre, a being of pure Darkness, was able to singlehandedly strike down Void where he stood seemed to hit the Demon Steves with the realization that the Darkness was much stronger than all their efforts combined if their most powerful member could be so easily killed with a weapon forged in it.
Biography[]
Early lives[]
The Demon Steves have existed for a long period of time in the depths of the World Below, being the souls of Steves who were banished to the World Beyond after death for their misdeeds, they became ruthless and violent, and have been kidnapping Steves through the usage of portals connected to the overworld and brainwashing them into becoming Demon Steves. Not only that, but the Demon Steves have been dwelling in the overworld for ages, turning invisible and using this to their advantage so they can stalk and gain information on the Steves.
At some point a scientist found a way to enter the the World Below and managed to make a name for himself by discovering the realm, and although not much is known about what happened to him, the experience from entering the World Below drove him insane, possibly because of the Demon Steves.
Within time, the Demon Steves invaded the overworld, forcing the leaders to bring the crystals together to create a hero, and chose a Blue Steve to become it. The Blue Steve was transformed into Rainbow Steve and managed to fight back against the Demon Steves, however, the Demon Steves proved to be extremely powerful threats and their conflict put massive dents in Rainbow Steve's confidence, resulting in his mental health deteriorating. Ultimately, Rainbow Steve realized that there was another way to hold of the Demon Steves, and transformed himself into a dark being, calling himself "Void Steve" and creating the Darkness, a parasitic force meant to infect the Steves and protect them from the Demon Steves' wrath. However, the Darkness was eventually imprisoned alongside their leader, allowing the Demon Steves to walk free undetected by everyone. Despite this feat, the Darkness were once again released, this time by a human by the name "FavreMySabre", although he was able to defeat and kill Void Steve and the rest of the Darkness, it once again allowed for the Demon Steves to roam free and manipulate reality as much as they pleased.
Now that they were once again able to freely warp reality to their liking, the Demon Steves severed all ties and connections from the World Beyond and the Middle World, forcing the Blue and Indigo Steves to migrate to the overworld and to the Rainbow Kingdom.
Revealing themselves[]
From unknown causes, the Demon Steves were found out by M, who saw Sabre, the person who had defeated the recently deceased Void Steve as the most likely person capable of helping him stop them.
During the rebellion lead by Sol and the Corrected Sun, Sabre approached the portal in the citadel of the Rainbow Kingdom and intended on visiting Time and Elemental Steve to ask for advise. Sabre entered the portal, but instead of being greeted by Time and Elemental, he landed in the World Below. Confused by his surroundings, Sabre didn't have much time to take in what was happening as he heard the Demon Steves' feral noises emanating form behind him. Sabre turned around only to see them step from the shadows and reveal themselves to him, causing Sabre to flee down the narrow cave he had been teleported to, all whilst screaming for Time and Elemental to help him. Within seconds, Sabre was met by a dead end leading to lava as the Demon Steves hastily approached him from behind. Seeing that there was nowhere to go, Sabre begged for the Demon Steves to leave him alone, but they ignored and kept inching closer. Fortunately for Sabre, he was teleported to the Inbetween unharmed. Time Steve hadn't detected Sabre entering another world when coming through the portal, stating that Sabre had just come straight from the Rainbow Kingdom
The Demon Steves would be encountered by Sabre a second time after being teleported away by the Red Leader after their meeting. Although he was prepared to arrive in the Rainbow Kingdom, to Sabre's shock and horror, he reappeared in the World Below on a platform surrounded by lava. As he realized the familiarity of where he was, several Demon Steves emerged from the lava as they began to climb the platform and approach Sabre ominously as he frighteningly asked who they were. Before the Demon Steves could reach Sabre, the teleportion the Red Leader had performed on Sabre fully activated and transported him out of the World Below and into a forest, much to Sabre's distraught and irritation.
Returning to the world[]
Eventually, the Demon Steves opened a portal to the overworld which was around half a mile away from a village inhabited by residents who chose to live in the outskirts of the Rainbow Kingdom. The Demon Steves attack and although what they did is unknown, they likely kidnapped the majority of the village's residents and memory-wiped the survivors to ensure that they're knowledge of the Demon Steves arriving in the overworld remained a secret. However, Sabre quickly gained wind of their actions when Green Steve arrived at the Rainbow Kingdom, distraught that the village he went to visit when he went to trade was suddenly devoid of most of its inhabitants. Within a short amount of time, Sabre discovered the cave where the Demon Steves came from, as well as an injured Corrected Sun member. Sabre entered the cave and was greeted by a Demon Steve guarding the deactivated portal. It turned around to face Sabre as it approached Sabre, enveloping him in a white light as it shifted reality, bringing Sabre back to the moment where he was preparing to imprison the True King Assistant.
As Sabre met up with M, M revealed that he came to talk to Sabre about the Demon Steves and not the Corrected Sun. However, Sabre's continued and in-depth explanation of the Demon Steves caused another shift in reality, teleporting M to the World Below and erasing anyone's memory of him, excluding the Red Steves and the Red Leader, which resulted in several recent events being altered, such as the abduction and interrogation of Sol. Seeing that there was only one person to turn to, Sabre visited the Red Leader disguised as M and was given information about the World Below, along with four redstone blocks that could be used to power the portal leading to the realm.
Sabre entered the World Below, but before he could begin to take in his surroundings, several Demon Steves noticed him and approached, using their lightning powers to teleport Sabre back into the Rainbow Kingdom. Confused and determined to save M, Sabre went back to the portal in the cave and ran through it many more times, with each outcome ending in the Demon Steves growing tired of Sabre and sending him back to the Rainbow Kingdom. Eventually, Sabre's last attempt resulted in another shift in reality, with the Demon Steves now present in the overworld. When Sabre arrived back at the Rainbow Kingdom and was greeted by the Yellow Assistant, Sabre sprung into action when he saw the Demon Steves wandering around the kingdom, however, the Yellow Assistant claimed not to see anything out of the ordinary, causing Sabre to realize that only he could see the Demon Steves and that they could see him.
Sabre entered the citadel and arrived in the Time Dimension, where he saw more Demon Steves wandering around, although Time and Elemental also weren't able to see them. Sabre tried numerous times to get to Time Steve, although all of his attempts failed as he knew the ramifications of the Demon Steves' effects on reality. Fortunately for Sabre, Time Steve eventually understood what Sabre was talking about and froze all of time, including Elemental and the Demon Steves. Seeing that this could be his only opportunity to explain the situation to someone else, Sabre blurted out that the Demon Steves had been resetting and altering reality whenever their existence was brought into question. Time Steve then brought up an idea; seeing that Sabre had been repeatedly forced out of the World Below by the Demon Steves, Time Steve enabled for Sabre to become invisible for a short amount of time before sending Sabre out of the Time Dimension and unfreezing time.
Sabre arrived back at the cave and entered the World Below. Upon entering the dimension, Sabre saw that the Demon Steves were surrounding the gate, now well aware that Sabre had entered, although they were unable to see him due to his invisibility. Sabre eventually came across a path that lead to a large facility where the Demon Steves were holding M and were patrolling. As Sabre was talking to M, his invisibility faded, resulting in Sabre having to rush as he broke the glass of the test tube M was in, setting off a security alarm and forcing the two to flee to the underground sector of the building. As the two went down, they discovered a room filled with portals, figuring out that these were the access points the lead to the overworld. Sabre and M went through one of the portals and arrived at the ruins of the Yellow Kingdom, with a few Demon Steves roaming and watching them progress through the ruins.
Sabre and M eventually arrived back at the Rainbow Kingdom, although Sabre was still unsure of how to discuss the issue of the Demon Steves without reality being reset. Suddenly, Sabre realized that the Demon Steves wouldn't be able to hear them if they weren't in the same room or nearby vicinity. Sabre took M from the Rainbow Kingdom and ran all the way to the abandoned library where the two first met and where Light Steve had created the Rainbow Bunker. As a Demon Steve noticed the two enter, Sabre blocked off the entrance with cobblestone, ensuring that no one could enter, which would allow them to freely talk about the Demon Steves.
Sabre and M retreated back to the Rainbow Kingdom, now infested with Demon Steves who could now be seen. However, the Demon Steves mass-kidnapped all of the Rainbow Kingdom's residents, including the Orange, Yellow, Green and Violet Leaders. With most of their citizens vanished, the Demon Steves were able to affect the memories of of Light Steve and the Blue and Indigo Leaders, resulting in them forgetting that the missing leaders even existed. Despite this achievement, the leaders and Light Steve were informed about the Demon Steves' true nature and what they had done by Sabre, causing them to begin planning to get rid of the Demon Steves. Before Sabre could plan on taking his allies to the World Below to solve their problem, the Demon Steves broke into the bunker just as Sabre was talking about them. Sabre turned around, coming face-to-face with one of them and panicking, turning around and seeing that Light Steve, M and the Blue and Indigo Leaders were gone.
Facing the threat of defeat[]
Sabre left the Rainbow Bunker and went on to talk to Void Steve, who had been sent to the World Below after his death and was midway through his transformation into a Demon Steve, who revealed that the Darkness was the only thing keeping the Demon Steves from harming anyone. With this knowledge acquired, Sabre went back to the long-abandoned Rainbow Hub to retrieve the Shadow Sword, a weapon forged by Darkness, alongside Shadow Sabre, a dark reflection of him. After retrieving the sword, Shadow Sabre and Sabre found a Demon Steve wandering around the abandoned Rainbow Hub before locking eyes with him. With nothing left to lose, Sabre struck the Demon Steve down with the lightning of the Shadow Sword, killing it.
After destroying a Demon Steve, Sabre returned to the Rainbow Kingdom, now populated with Demon Steves, but now fearful of Sabre as he held a weapon forged in Darkness. With the powers of the sword, Sabre used it to reverse the kidnappings the Demon Steves had orchestrated, bringing back Light Steve, who assisted Sabre in modifying the Rainbow Crystal storage room in the citadel. Light Steve created a new slot for the Shadow Sword so that it and the Rainbow Crystal could use each others' energies to prevent the Demon Steves from using their powers. Upon plugging in the Shadow Sword, the Demon Steves were halted and slowly began to vanish, being forcefully teleported back to the World Below.
Despite this, the Demon Steves were still capable of striking areas far away from the Rainbow Kingdom, which Sabre found out for himself once he was forcefully teleported into the World Below by Void Steve to talk. After their talk, Void Steve teleported Sabre into a tundra biome along with Shadow Sabre. As Sabre began to question where he was, Shadow Sabre warned him of an incoming horde of Demon Steves, and sure enough they appeared and began surrounding Sabre, slowly enclosing him in. Fortunately for Sabre, his usage of the Shadow Sword had allowed for the Darkness to flow through him and give him enough energy to overpower and kill the Demon Steves with an iron sword, destroying them instantly.
Laying siege to the overworld and defeat[]
Despite having several members bested by Sabre and the Shadow Sword, the Demon Steves gathered an army and prepared to lay siege to the Rainbow Kingdom. To start off, Sabre used the Shadow Sword's powers to make the entirety of the Rainbow Kingdom disappear except for the citadel, that way he could have a clear line of sight of the Demon Steves. After erasing the kingdom, Light Steve approached Sabre and frighteningly warned him of the approaching Demon Steves, whom Sabre saw a glimpse of when he peered over the citadel's balcony. Sabre jumped down and rushed into battle with Light Steve as the fleet of Demon Steves arrived, however, Light Steve was severely injured during the fight, forcing Sabre to use Shadow's power to completely decimate the Demon Steve fleet, killing them all. Later on, Void Steve reappears to Sabre and summons several Demon Steves, allegedly stronger than most others, however they still end up meeting the same fate as many of their kind, being killed by Sabre alongside Shadow Sabre and Dark Steve.
Within time, Sabre arrived to the World Below along with Time and Dark Steve to face off against Void, who had gathered a large amount of Demon Steves to stand to the side and watch the battle, showing their complete loyalty to their new leader. As the Demon Steves stood aside, the fight took place and ended with Shadow Sabre arriving just in time to slay Void Steve where he stood, putting an end to the Demon Steves' leader. Since the defeat of Void, the Demon Steves have not showed their faces in the overworld and remain in the World Below.

Trivia[]
- The Demon Steves appeared as a singular entity and not part of a species in the original series, the Steve Saga. There, Demon Steve was much like his species in Rainbow Quest, a feral beast who relied on predatory instincts, although he was much more unaware of his surroundings and only sought to cause destruction and kill anything he saw.
