The Demons are the main antagonist faction of the Halo and Doom crossover Doom 3 mod, Doom 2553.

They are a hellish race of monstrosities that resided in Hell who intended to invade and conquer worlds as they are responsible for the extinction of the Martian race that left Mars uninhabitable following their invasion. After making a deal with Betruger to become their leader and bringing the Soul Cube, the Demons were unleashed to once again invade Mars and to kill the Marine to prevent him from interfering with their plans to invade Earth.

Biography[]

Past[]

The Demons are residents of Hell who rule the realm with the intent to invade other worlds with the motive to spread and conquer to put it under their control. When the Martians used their portal technology to open the portal to Hell, their mistake led to the Demons coming out of the portal, sparking a demonic invasion on Mars. Unable to stop the demons from annihilating a large majority of their kind, the remaining Martians formulate a plan on ending the invasion as some had sacrificed themselves to create the Soul Cube, an artifact that was used to defeat the Demons by closing the portal. After the portal was closed and the invasion was put to an end, the surviving Martians leave warnings for anyone who uses their portal and left Mars to whereabouts unknown.

In 2553, one year after the Human-Covenant War, the UNSC successly established Mars City to repopulate their kind and made a discovery of the artifiacts left behind by the Martians. After the UNSC reverse engineer the technology, they open the world to Hell where a sole demon exits the portal to enter Mars and Betruger sends in research teams to find more demons to capture. During the mission, the demons manage to kill off some of the teams to defend themselves from captivity while injuring some, but some of their brethren were taken to be experimented while the surviving teams would be traumatized by the side effects of entering Hell. Betruger soon comes to his acknowledgement that the portals are link to Hell and the creatures he brought back are demons. The demons find potential in Betruger as they seek his help, contacted him in his dreams and arrange a deal for power by subjugating humanity and Betruger agreed.

After Betruger made his entrance to Hell, he met up with the demons where he made a pact and returns with the ideal to bring the demons to Earth to succeed in invading and conquering the planet. However, due to the teleporter having yet to be ready and getting caught to draw the attention of Swan, Betruger decides to change plans by accelerating the invasion early to bring the demons to Mars to be transported by the UNSC fleet to Earth as a new opportunity.

Doom 2553[]

During that time, many workers begin their complaints due to the hellish paranormal activity under Betruger's supervision. Aware of the situation, the scientist, Dr. Johnson Ishii, attempted to stop Betruger by shutting down the portal, but Betruger intervenes with Ishii's interception by delivering the Soul Cube to the demons. With the Soul Cube hidden in Hell, Betruger unleashed the demons to invade Mars once more with a majority of ghosts proceeding to influence several UNSC military and civilian personal into zombies while later creatures join the invasion to attack the UNSC, killing a majority of the human population in the city in the progress. To counter the demonic invasion, Kelly had the Marine return to HQ where he ordered him to link up with Bravo Squad and to send a distress signal to alert the UNSC on Earth for reinforcements.

As the Marine fought his away against the demonic forces to link up with the Bravo Team, the squad were eventually killed in an ambush set up by Imps and Wraith and learned he was too late but have gained usage of one of their transmissions cards from a wounded survivor before he got killed by a Wraith. While the Marine ventures to send the signal, Swann and Campbell made their attempts to try to stop him from unknowinglly helping Betruger's forces getting the advantage before sending a transmission to convince him depending on the choice to listen to Swann or Kelly. Depending on what choice the Marine makes, the signal would be sent to the UNSC to give demons an advantage to spread to Earth regardless on which option he choses and the Marine comes to Delta Labs to confront Betruger before getting sent to Hell where the demons make their entrance to fight him in his torment,

While fighting the demons, the Marine manages to fought against the Guardian of Hell and kills it to discover the Soul Cube where it told him about the past demonic invasion and brings it with him to seal the entrance to Hell to stop the invasion. This seal was short lived due to Betruger using the Digsite's portal as an alternate route for the demons to continue the invasion. The Marine battles through the attacking hordes to the Digsite and discovers the portal being guarded by the Cyberdemon who fights the Marine and summons more demons to aid him in his fight against him. The Marine soon uses the Soul Cube to kill the Cyberdemon and seals the Digsite's portal, fully ending the invasion and stopping the demons from preparing to invade Earth.
