Desti is a major character in the Australian adult animated web series SMG4, as well as one of the two posthumous overarching protagonists (alongside Aloysius Bori) in it's spin-off Sunset Paradise.
She was an octoling and the former rival of Meggy Spletzer. She was the leader of the Octoposse turf war team. Though she initially wanted to beat Meggy in the splatfest, she later decided to assist the SMG4 gang in finding her after she, among other inklings, was kidnapped by Francis and the Anime Cartel.
Roles[]
She is a major character in the Modern Era and a posthumous character in the Showgrounds Era. She is a minor antagonist in Season 8, a major protagonist in Season 9 and The Anime Arc, the posthumous overarching protagonist of Season 10, Meggy's Destiny: An SMG4 Movie, the first quarter of Season 11 and SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI, and a posthumous protagonist in following seasons and arcs.
A digital copy of her also serves as a minor character in SMG4 Movie: WESTERN SPAGHETTI.
Appearance[]
Desti is an octoling with tan skin, pink tentacle hair and eyebrows, purple eyeliner, and yellow eyes. She wears a dark blue hoodie with blue and white-striped sleeves, black leather shorts, boots and fingerless gloves.
Personality[]
Desti was an arrogant, rude, vain, competitive, manipulative, and all-around bully when she was first introduced. She constantly mocked Meggy, claiming that she would never win the splatfest and convincing Mario that Meggy was inept and lacked skill, claiming that the Octoposse was better than Meggy's Splat Squad team. She was even surprised to learn that Meggy had never heard her, demonstrating her ego.
When Francis kidnapped Meggy and the other inklings, she decided to assist the SMG4 gang in locating them, claiming that she still wanted revenge on Meggy for their previous skirmishes. When she is brought to Anime Island, she tells Meggy that she still despises her but prefers to humiliate her rather than kill her. This is demonstrated even further when she begs Francis to stop zuccing out all of Meggy's ink with the Ink Zuccer 2000.
Finally, when she is impaled and mortally wounded by False Sephiroth, she orders Meggy to win the splatfest for her, implying that Desti has made peace with Meggy in her final moments.

- Desti's name is derived from the word 'destiny,' referring to her determination to win the splatfest as well as her ego.
- Though she is not the first SMG4 character to die permanently, she is the first recurring SMG4 character to die permanently, followed by Francis.
- Luke mentioned in the video About The Anime Arc, in which he and Kevin Lerdwichagul discuss some behind-the-scenes moments in the Anime Arc, that animating Desti's death was especially difficult on an emotional level for him.
- Also, in The Waluigi Arc EXPLAINED, which is similar to About The Anime Arc but focusing on the Waluigi Arc, Luke and Kevin explained that Desti was originally supposed to have a role in the arc.
- Desti is similar to SMG3 in the following ways:
- Both are rivals to the protagonists (SMG3 has SMG4 while Desti has Meggy).
- Both typically have subordinates who do the grunt work (Desti has the Octoposse while SMG3 occasionally has Bowser).
- Both are conceited and vain.
- Both are willing to cheat in order to obtain what they desire.
- Both join forces with SMG4's Gang to combat a common foe.
- The only difference is that Desti's plans aren't as grand, and she dies during the Anime Arc.
- In many fanmade alternate universes, Desti is still alive and she befriended Meggy.
