Dexter is the main antagonist of Total Drama French, the eighth season of Total Drama.
He's a French contestant who's decided to become a serial killer to get the million-dollar prize his way, and to become famous.
He was voiced by Brian Froud, who also voiced Harold and Sam in the same cartoon.
Personnality[]
Dexter is a brutal, cruel and power-hungry serial killer. Dexter is willing to use any method to get the million-dollar prize, whether malicious or not. He's not afraid to talk and fight with people who seem to be stronger than him, like Chef Hatchet. Dexter not only wants to be rich, he wants to be famous. Dexter is very brutal in combat, throwing himself at his enemies and punching them repeatedly, until their faces are bloodied. Dexter isn't afraid of plot twists, since he always has a trick that allows him to keep the perfect situation to himself. Dexter also showed he wasn't easily manipulated, as when Heather tried to convince him to release her so she could help him.
Biography[]
Chris McLean had decided to organize a French-themed Total Drama to pay tribute to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. So 22 candidates signed up for the season. However, Dexter, who wanted to take part in Total Drama French, didn't have time to sign up. So Dexter disguised himself as a killer with a mask similar to Chris McLean's face, and embedded himself in the boat with the 22 candidates and murdered them all in a different way. When the boat with the 22 candidates arrived at Camp Wawanakwa, Chris found them dead and decided to call on 14 candidates this time. Dexter was thus able to sign up for Total Drama French. Before arriving at Camp Wawanakwa, Dexter had planned his finale by kidnapping former Total Drama contestants (from 2007 to 2023), so that they would witness his victory in the finale, and so decided to pose as a lazy boy to be eliminated first, in order to continue his plans.
Total Drama French[]
Arriving at Camp Wawanakwa with the other 13 candidates, Dexter played the role of a lazy boy, and everyone took him seriously. In the end, Dexter was finally eliminated because of his laziness, and was able to leave Camp Wawanakwa to continue his projects on the sly. In subsequent episodes, Dexter appears very discreetly in his killer costume. However, Dexter will appear better with his suit on in episode 5, after Junior is inspired by his killer to use the suit to scare Chris into giving him the million-dollar prize. However, Junior was eventually stopped by the other contestants. At the end of episode 5, after Junior had been eliminated, Junior found himself tied up on the Boat of Losers, and Dexter popped up in his killer suit on the boat. Dexter killed the boat's driver by throwing him to the sharks, to avoid troubles. Dexter tells Junior he wasn't happy that Junior made his killer look stupid, and throws him to the sharks, killing him.
After that, Dexter makes another appearance in his killer suit in the penultimate episode. As Chris turns off all the cameras at night, Dexter hacks into the confessional camera and can be seen sitting with his killer suit. Dexter explains that there will soon be a surprise (speaking of his revelation to the candidates tomorrow), and cuts the camera off with a stab that breaks it. Chris is stunned.
In the finale episode, Dexter uses Chris McLean's voice with a voice modulator, and asks the two finalists (Emily and Reef) to come behind Chief Hatchet's cabin. When Emily and Reef go there, they find all the former Total Drama contestants (from 2007 to 2023) tied to trees with ropes and blindfolds to their mouths. Emily and Reef take the blindfolds off their mouths and ask who did this to them. All the candidates tremble with fear and say it's the Total Drama Slasher. Reef asks how long there's been a slasher in Total Drama, and Dexter (in disguise) appears and replies to Reef: “Since a few days ago.” Emily and Reef try to escape, but Dexter stops them at gunpoint. Emily asks the killer who he is, and Dexter says he's a candidate who do anything for the million-dollar prize and reveals himself by removing his mask. Dexter then explains that he was inspired by Ghostface to make his killer costume and that he even used a voice modulator. Dexter then reveals that he played the role of a lazy boy to be eliminated first, in order to carry out his plans on the sly, namely: Kidnap former Total Drama contestants and prepare for his finale. As he talks about “his” finale, Emily asks Dexter what he did with Chris. Dexter reveals he kidnapped Chris and finds it funny that the contestants are worried about Chris, given that Chris tortured them for years. Dexter then says that Chris should die for what he's done, but he says he can't kill him, because it would be sad to kill Chris McLean, who is a mascot for Total Drama. However, Dexter planned a trap to get back at Chris: he filled Chris's bungalow with gas and cut off the power, and knew that Chris would ask one of his assistants to bring him coffee. So, Dexter looked at Chris's bungalow and told Chris that there would normally be an explosion in 3 seconds, when the assistant Chris had sent to his bungalow would light a lighter to make it clearer.
Indeed, after 3 seconds, the assistant in the bungalow lit his lighter and an explosion swept through Chris's bungalow, obviously including the assistant. The contestants and Chris looked on in fear, while Dexter watched the explosion sadistically. Emily tells Dexter that he was crazy, and Dexter says that to him, if someone were crazy, they'd commit aimless atrocities, whereas he doesn't. Then, Chef Hatchet comes out with his giant ball bazooka, and Dexter threatens to cut Chris McLean’s throat if Chef doesn’t throw his bazooka away from him. Dexter says that in any case, if Chef shoots him with his bazooka, he also shoots Chris. Chef Hatchet accepted and threw his bazooka away. Dexter then kicked him violently in the groin. After sorting this out, Dexter explains to Emily and Reef “his” finale. The finale is a fight that takes place on a platform high above the water, made up of sharks. Dexter explains that Emily and Reef will have to beat him with giant Q-tips, while Dexter will fight with his bare hands. Dexter then says that the first person to knock his opponent into the water will win the million-dollar prize. Dexter then had to take down Emily and Reef to win. Before they begin the finale, Sierra interrupts Dexter, telling him he'll see what he'll see if he goes after Cody. Dexter asks Sierra who she thinks she is, and that just because she wants to defend Cody, doesn't necessarily mean she can. Sierra then asks Dexter how he managed to capture a strong person like her. Dexter explains to all the contestants that he has watched all the seasons of Total Drama to analyze each contestant's skills, so he can then turn them against them to successfully kidnap them. Then, Dakotazoid suddenly asks Dexter if the sting on her neck came from him. Dexter confirms and shows all the candidates a syringe filled with radiation. Dexter explains that he pricked Dakotazoid in the neck to take his mutated blood, so that he could become a mutant by injecting himself with this blood, in case there was a problem with his plan, such as if all the candidates were free. Dexter also explains that he tested Dakotazoid's mutated blood on a beaver, which immediately turned into a mutant beaver, before killing it, to avoid any problems.
Dexter then holstered his weapons, and ordered Emily and Reef up onto the platform, and Dexter climbed up as well. After that, the fight begins, and Dexter seems to have the upper hand on Emily and Reef with his brutality. Meanwhile, The Ridonculous Race contestants hid behind every tree, and whispered to the sequestered Total Drama contestants that they were there to set them free. At that moment, Dexter is about to take Emily and Reef down to the sharks, but when he turns around, all the Total Drama and The Ridonculous Race contestants are looking at him, ready to beat him. However, Dexter clenches his fists angrily and injects Dakotazoid's blood into his leg with his syringe. Dexter then transforms into “Dexterozoid”, but Dakotazoid offers to challenge him. In the end, Dexter puts a violent claw in Dakotazoid's face, and she falls to the ground, unconscious. Dexter then reverts to his human form, as he tells the contestants that he can control his mutation, so he can become a mutant again whenever he wants. Suddenly, Emily and Reef try to overpower him, because they were able to get back up while Dexter was fighting with Dakotazoid.
In Emily and Reef's ending, Emily and Reef manage to throw Dexter to the sharks, before he can gives them hard blows to the ribs with his elbows, and are declared Total Dram French winners, while Dexter gets out of the water and flees the island by boat.
In Dexter's ending, Dexter gives them hard blows to the ribs with his elbows, and Emily and Reef fall to the sharks. Dexter gives a sadistic smile and walks over to Chris, ordering him to tell him where the suitcase with the one million dollars price is. Dexter finally finds the suitcase, and takes off in a boat, while all the Total Drama and The Ridonculous Race contestants are left speechless. Meanwhile, Emily and Reef emerge from the water, revealing that they have survived the sharks.
After the events of Total Drama French, there's a special video that tells what Dexter did after winning the million-dollar prize in the Dexter's ending. Dexter recounts winning a mansion with two women who always stayed by his side. He then recounts how the contestants of Total Drama and The Ridonculous Race filed a complaint against him and all his crimes, but Dexter bribed a lawyer with the one million dollars, who then recounted a beautiful speech at Dexter's judgment. In the end, Dexter was set free. Dexter then tells of murdering Courtney's six lawyers, in case he had any more trouble with Total Drama and The Ridonculous Race contestants. So Dexter lived the good life for the rest of his life.
Total Drama Panic City[]
Directors have confirmed that Dexter will return in Total Drama Panic City, the following season, after Total Drama French.

- Since his creation, Dexter has been considered the MOST evil contestant, which allowed him to surpass Heather in villainy level and to be first on the podium of the most evil contestants of Total Drama.
