“ | Look at that. Seems like Negagen took more souls than he can handle. He didn't even think to leave any for us. Perhaps he should be taught a lesson for such insolence? | „ |

“ | Hah! You decided to return with the souls of the living, and give them to me so that I'll let you live? Huh. Well, you're going to die anyway! | „ |
~ Dia-La-Lax after regaining consciousness before attempting to kill Negagen. |
Dia-La-Lax is the secondary antagonist of the fourth episode of Nightmare Shorts. He is an unusually aggressive, temperamental and greedy wave demon as well as an enemy of Negagen, Exetior's future apprentice.
Biography[]
During Negagen's first attempts at controlling the souls of mobians, he is ambushed by Dia-La-Lax and another wave demon. Dia-La-Lax mocks Negagen's attempt at controlling the souls and becomes frustrated due to Negagen leaving nothing for him and his friend. He decides to take Negagen's souls from him, preparing to suck them out from him, which would kill him, he is flung away by Exetior, rendering him unconscious.
After teaching Negagen how to control the souls of the mobians, Dia-La-Lax regains consciousness and mocks Negagen for thinking that returning the souls to their bodies and handing them over to Dia-La-Lax would cause the latter to spare him. Dia-La-Lax decides to kill Negagen himself, but was taken aback by the raw strength of the brainwashed mobians, whom he was unable to kill and attacked him when they had the chance. Soon the joint effort of both Negagen and the souls resulted in Dia-La-Lax's defeat.
As he is never seen again, it is unknown if Dia-La-Lax survived his encounter with Negagen or retreated from the battle.
Personality[]
Dia-La-Lax is extremely aggressive, vain, selfish and violent, attacking Negagen purely out of spite and greed for him not leaving any souls for him when he could've easily searched for his own. He also expressed no hesitation to take the souls out of Negagen, knowing full well that it'll cause his death, something he seemed to have no qualms about as he later tried to directly kill Negagen after Exetior saved him.
Trivia[]
- Dia-La-Lax is the second known wave demon (and by extension, one of the only two besides Negagen) in the series
- Dia-La-Lax has several grey particles surrounding him. It is likely that he uses these particles to attack his enemies with.
