Yessss… The day has finally come. I have regained my dimension bending powers! The count and his lady, like Romeo and Juliet, HEROICALLY stopped me from ending this fiery inferno of a world and crafting a perfect world in Dimension D! But their sacrifice was in vain! Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I will reverse the spell they set by exiting the universe like it was a terrible production of King Lear by second graders, and then them NOT being in the universe will revive the void! Then I will finally be able to erase this world like terrible fan art drawn by a person with no arms, and make one 256 times better in Dimension D! Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha! REVERSE!
~ Dimentio after regaining his powers.

Dimentio is the main antagonist of Super Paper Mario 2: The Seven Sorcerers.

Surviving the events of the original Super Paper Mario, Dimentio now seeks revenge on Mario and Lord Blumiere for defeating him, though he still wants to achieve his destructive goals of wiping out all of existence and recreating it in his own image. He is said to be the most destructive wielder of the Chaos Heart, as well as Mario's most destructive and evil foe.

Biography

Past

When he was first defeated, Dimentio faked his own death, quickly escaping to Dimension D to regain his strength and would soon leave a shadow of himself onto the Chaos Heart to destroy and rewrite all of existence by consuming it in the void. Before his goals could succeed, however, Blumiere (formerly known as Count Bleck) and Timpani would sacrifice themselves using the Pure Hearts to stop the Chaos Heart. Enraged by his failure, Dimentio would soon plot on his revenge.

Return

After regaining a portion of his powers in Dimension D, Dimentio soon plans on continuing his plans of destroying all of existence, only to soon realize that he was still rather weak. He then decides to go hinder on Mario and his friends in the Mushroom Kingdom, including several of his former allies who just so happened to be there with them. Soon, Dimentio would form a new black void in the sky to consume all worlds once again.

Dimentio would then find the worlds of the Seven Wizards and brainwash them with his magic into doing his bidding, brainwashing seemingly Breezus first who would be the first wizard Mario and his friends encountered, who nearly strangled Peach to death with his magic.

As the heroes continued to combine the Pure Hearts to access other worlds, the void Dimentio formed would continue growing quicker and quicker, increasing the threat of all worlds being consumed and rewritten in Dimension D. At least one known world would be devoured by the void.

At some point, Mario would be kidnapped by Dimentio and trapped inside of Dimension D. He would take on a disguise and impersonate Mario, staying with the rest of the heroes.

Final Confrontation with the Heroes.

After the heroes closed the void in Castle Bleck and found Blumiere and Timpani, Dimentio would reveal himself to them and quickly brainwash Blumiere, Timpani, Nastasia, Mimi, and O'Chunks into becoming his loyal servants.

He would then reveal that he also left a seed of hypnosis inside of the Purity Heart while still impersonating Mario, planning to hijack it to succeed in his destructive goals. Soon, Dimentio would make Blumiere, Timpani, Nastasia, Mimi, and O'Chunks fight Peach, Luigi, and Bowser. After a long fight, Dimentio's brainwashed pawns were defeated.

He soon then tries to brainwash Luigi, but unlike last time, it seemingly doesn't work, resulting in another battle. After being taken down by Luigi, Dimentio, on the brink of dying, would then command Blumiere to kill Timpani, who he would soon shove into a purple void conjured by magic. Taking glee in his actions, Dimentio would then fake his death once again, pretending to die from his injuries.

Feeling immense guilt for his actions, Blumiere would then take his own life, falling into the void he made. Because of this, Luigi would soon begin questioning morality and if maybe Dimentio was right, and maybe that all worlds should die.

It is unknown what would happen afterward to Dimentio, though it does seem that part of his plan was to psychologically abuse the heroes as revenge. It could be presumed that he is somewhere else out there, however, with Mario trapped in Dimension D and the heroes psychologically tormented.

Personality

Of all the people that controlled the Chaos Heart, he caused the most destruction. Even after he was defeated, he left a shadow of himself behind to control the Chaos Heart. If this shadow wasn't destroyed, the void created by the Chaos Heart would consume all existence.
~ The Narrator on Dimentio.

Much like his original counterpart, Dimentio is a psychopathic magician who wants to destroy all of existence and recreate it in his own image. He seemingly believes that all of existence is rotten and that if he destroyed it all, he would remake a better version of it that he would rule over. After his first defeat, he would leave a shadow of himself to control the Chaos Heart so he could continue with his goals of destroying and recreating all of existence, and when Blumiere and Timpani sacrificed themselves to stop him, he was rather furious, showing that he absolutely hates it when people get in his way.

He wanted revenge at all costs, doing whatever he could to get back at Mario, Blumiere, and their friends, with his main plan being to kill them all by destroying all of existence once again. Once he regained his powers in Dimension D, he seemed rather joyed, excited to finally continue with his goals of revenge and mass omnicide, also taking joy in the fact that the count and his beloved's sacrifice would be in vain. However, after seeing that he hadn't regained his full power, he quickly decides to go hinder Mario and his friends.

When he brainwashed the sorcerers, all Dimentio could do was laugh, making it clear that he enjoyed his horrible actions and seemingly had no regrets. Once Blumiere seemingly killed his wife, Dimentio took glee in it and believed he had finally had his revenge, and seemed rather satisfied when he had finally died, obviously not caring about the psychological damage that it would do to the former count. At the end of the story, he seems to be completely aware of the damage his actions caused, and he seems rather pleased, showing how sadistic he truly is.

Trivia

  • This version of Dimentio, while not being quite as powerful, is seemingly even more monstrous than his original counterpart, as his actions would lead to Blumiere killing himself, Mario being trapped presumably forever in Dimension D, and leave the heroes of the story psychologically tormented by his actions, even seemingly getting away in the end.
  • Unlike most versions of Dimentio, this is one of the very few who is seemingly not killed or punished for his crimes, as he would fake his death once again.
