Dipsy is a green Tubbybot created to perform in the Tubbyland Entertainment Centre. He is the secondary antagonist in the FNaTL series and the Tubbyland Archives remake.

Biography[]

Along with the other Tubbybots, Dipsy was formerly an animatronic attraction at the Tubbyland restaurant, performing on a stage alongside Laa-Laa. However, the robots were left abandoned after the building was closed due to the Custard Machine Explosion Incident, which damaged the main four Tubbybots. Some time later, Tubbyland Entertainment re-activates the Tubbybots, aiming to repair them so that the restaurant may be re-opened.

Dipsy first activates during Night 3, starting on the Show Stage. He'll progress toward the player in order of the Party Area, the Party Hall, the Repair Hall, and at the left door, at which point he'll either pass through Dining Room 1 or crawl through the vents to reach Dining Room 2, and finally arrive at the Office door. The player must ward him of by releasing fumes from a limited supply into the room he's in, causing him to return to either the Show Stage or the Party Area. If he's already made it to Dining Room 2, he can't be sent back with the fumes, and instead must be kept out by shutting the door. Should Dipsy successfully enter the Office, he'll stand over the player's desk while disabling the door and draining the power supply until it's empty, guaranteeing a game over. His plush form operates the same way, though his positions on the cameras have now changed slightly.

In Five Nights at Tubbyland 2, Dipsy has been repaired and remodeled, and now resides in his own part of the building called Dipsy's Arcade. During the nights, he'll move from the arcade to the Tubby Toilets, then to the Tubby Hall, and finally into the Office. The player must quickly activate the smoke machine to drive him out, sending him back to the Arcade, otherwise he'll attack.

In The Tubbyland Archives Act 1, Dipsy first activates on Night 4. He starts on the Show Stage, but will then appear right in the Office's front doorway. He moves every time the camera is brought up, having four phases. On his final phase when he is closest to the player, they must hide from him behind the curtains. The player must wait until they've heard his laughter to signify that he's left before coming out of hiding. Not hiding from him or exiting the curtains too soon will cause Dipsy's jumpscare and subsequent game over.

He is also the playable character in the first post-night minigame, tasked with finding Noo-Noo, who is sleeping in the Office. In the fifth minigame, he and the other animatronics watch as Tinky Winky shoves Employee 3 into Noo-Noo's mouth, killing him. He is also an enemy in the sixth and final minigame, wandering around the abandoned restaurant, quickly giving chase if the player comes too close to him.

Appearance[]

Dipsy is a green Tubbybot based on the Teletubbies character of the same name. He is the least damaged of the four, as only his costume eyes are missing, with a black endoskeleton eye with a small red pupil in his right socket. His left eye socket has been torn into a large hole, with the endo eye inside missing. His plush form is much smaller, with stubby limbs and Dipsy's iconic cow-patterned top hat.

In FNaTL 2, He's been repaired and has a new head shape, with his lower jaw being a separate piece and his eyes being much smaller. During Nightmare Night, his eye sockets are completely empty.

His re-design for Act 1 of The Tubbyland Archives is similar to his Tubbyland 1 appearance, though now his torso is segmented and his face is more accurate to the original Dipsy. He is also significantly more damaged, with his entire costume covered in holes and several wires poking out. The covering on his upper right arm and both of his feet is missing, and he has a large hole on the right side of his torso. His right endo eye is hanging out of a large hole in his face, and his left eye socket still retains its costume eye.

He was originally going to be one of the main antagonist instead of Po, and starred in the prototype Five Nights at Dipsy's game.
In the beta version of FNaTL 1, he was able to kill the player. Since he never activates during the beta however, it's unknown what his mechanic would have been. (though presumably it would've been similar to the final game.)
Clicking him on the poster in the first and second game as well as Act 1 and clicking his mask in the third will make him say "I like paperclips" in a text-to-speech voice
Him, Po, and Decimated are the only three robots able to speak.
Dipsy is the only 2.0 animatronic that does not appear in the Five Nights at Tubbyland 2 trailer.
One of his voice lines implies he is able to feel cold, though it's unknown how.
Strangely, Dipsy in Act 1 is the only enemy who's AI can only be set up to 4 during Custom Night, as opposed to the others maxing out at 10.
