Dmitry Timofeyvich Yazov is a character in the HOI4 mod The New Order: Last Days of Europe which is the Protégé of the current Glavkoverkh Dmitry Karbyshev and can be the new Glavkoverkh after his death, He is a minor antagonist in the West Siberian Region of Warlord Russia and can become the Anti-Villainous protagonists if the player chooses his route.

Biography[]
Dmitry Timofeyevich Yazov is Karbyshev's protégé, a brilliant general and a true patriot dedicated to the tenets of the Black League. As Karbyshev's last days approach, Yazov is tasked to take up the Black League's leadership and realize Karbyshev's dreams to prepare Russia for the Great Trial.
However, unbeknownst to Karbyshev, Yazov and his fellow officers have found a new understanding in Karbyshev's words. The motherland has suffered so much under the Germans, that having the Great Trial be merely a defensive war would be an injustice to all that was lost. Fueled by hate, with nothing left to lose, the Great Trial shall be the day when Russia delivers total revenge upon Germany.

Dmitry Yazov Starts of the head of government for the Omsk Warlord State which he can become leader when Dmitry Karbyshev dies when completing the first Omsk Focus tree. He is now to deal with the corrupt, disloyal government officials that puppeted Karbyshev. If he fails, they will kill Yazov resulting in a Game Over. If Yazov manages to deal with them and goes on to conquer all of Western Siberia then he has to find another Game Over situation. Pavel Batov who was one of the Authoritarian Democrats in Sverdlovsk which he conquered knows about his endgame plans and disagrees with him and starts an insurgency to take him down and if the player fails, its another Game Over. If Yazov manages to deal with this and suppress and execute Batov. He has to conquer any warlord that stands in his way since he can't reunify with anybody.
When he finally Reunifies Russia. You see via events of all the horrifying weapons he has created that he is ready to unleash against the Nazi Germans and go on to declare the Great Trial to avenge the Russian lives lost by the hand of the Wehrmacht
Personality[]
Dmitry Yazov is a Ruthless, Oppressive, Militaristic, Warmonger who unlike Tukhachevsky has some morality and honorable act such as of going to far since one event where he is doing chemical experiments on his own people, he is horrified and condemns its. He does (somewhat) brings back the Pre Invasion Soviet Living standards back, and when he eventually causes the Thermonuclear war, he is very remorseful since he is sad of all the chaos and destruction he has committed thanks to his blind vengeful eyes and has to carry this guilt.
Just like Rodzaevsky he is somewhat of a sore loser going to lengths to sabotage the winning warlords army via events and when you fail to defeat Pavel Batov's insurgency, he says that its his fault for making Russia weak and talking of how right he is and condemning Batov.

- Yazov's Portrait can have 5% chance to spawn with sunglasses once you reunify Russia.
- Yazov's music during the Russian unification super-event is called "Battle on the ice" from the movie Alexander Nevsky about the Teutonic-Novogrodian war. The historical Battle on the Ice ended with a decisive Novgorodian victory, which halted any further Teutonic expansion eastwards and made the Teutons drop all claims on Russian lands. This may be referencing Yazov's plan to "undo" German eastern expansion and his frequent use of the word "Teutons."
- Ironically in the mod which makes him a really capable General and commander, in real life he was a "medicore" one as stated by Alexander Yakolev and was chosen to be the Marshal of the Soviet Union just because of political reasons not his skill. Which in turn gave him a historical Badass Upgrade.
- But he was also a Soviet Hardliner who did Oppress many separatist movements inside the Soviet Union and was part of the Anti-Gorbachev Coup also giving him a Historical Villain upgrade as well.
