Biography[]
Backstory[]
Not much is known about Otto Octavius's early life. According to the file that John Rainbird was reading, he was a brilliant genius, but prone to violent mood swings. Otto was convicted for domestic violence at the age of 17.
Meeting Charlie McGee[]
“ | What is this? A bed of explosives!!! | „ |
~ Doctor Octopus's last words before he dies from drowning after the abandoned boardwalk explodes. |
When Charlie McGee and Norma Manders came to his house, Charlie rang the doorbell, and Otto answered the door, and politely let them in. Although she was nervous at first, Charlie and Otto struck a conversation about the weather and seasons in the science class that Charlie is in. Some time later, Otto and Rosalie leave for work at the Lab of Scientific Research To Improve Nuclear Energy.
Accident and transformation[]
Shortly after arriving, Otto puts on his 4 mechanical tentacles, and when Dr. Wilson Renzer asks why Otto wants to use them, he replies that it is just in case he has more jobs to do. However, as he was about to start his research on ways trying to develop a clean way to create nuclear energy, he bumped into a nearby switch. Rosalie frantically entered into the room to warn her husband about the explosion, but it was too late. The explosion consumed and killed her, and Otto's 4 mechanical tentacles being fused to his spine and the AI chip being destroyed. Paramedics soon arrived to take Otto to the hospital.
Sometime after being discharged, Otto went to an abandoned boardwalk, and walked away at his own reflection after a while of staring at the water. He then decided to make his extraction-inator as part of his plan to drain Charlie McGee of her pyrokinesis in order for him to melt every city on the planet so that he can replace all of humanity with machines, embracing his new identity as Doctor Octopus.
Aquiring enough money[]
Doctor Octopus, wearing a gray t-shirt, a black trenchcoat, and a black bowler hat, was at the same bank that Charlie McGee and Norma Manders was at. He took off his trenchcoat, and used his mechanical tentacles to rip off the vault door. After grabbing the money, he threw it in a nearby armored truck, only for Charlie McGee to stand in front of him and call him out for stealing all the money in the vault, He flings her across the hallway, knocking her out cold as he steals the armored truck and drives off recklessly with it.
Finishing up with his extraction-inator[]
Doctor Octopus had finished up with his extraction-inator, and decides to use it to drain Charlie McGee of her pyrokinetic powers so that he can melt every city across the world and repopulate the entire planet with machines. After walking out to where he parked the armored truck, he uses his mechanical tentacles to chuck it into the water in an effort to hide any evidence of the bank robbery. He then goes to look for Charlie McGee with the intention of kidnapping her.
Abduction of Charlie McGee[]
Doctor Octopus arrives at her house, then breaks through her bedroom window and takes her to his lair in a stealthy manner to avoid drawing any attention to himself. After arriving at his lair, Doctor Octopus found a chain and tied Charlie McGee to a wall with it. He decided to keep her in position with his stick-inator. After that, Charlie McGee wanted to be let go, but Doctor Octopus refused, as she would bring the police over.
Final confrontation and death[]
As Doctor Octopus's machine was at 98%, he was so excited to accomplish his plan, but his extraction-inator was hit by an arrow, resulting in him being desprate that his machine would work properly. He found out that the shooter was John Rainbird, who pulled out a sword so that Charlie could escape after she melted the chains with her pyrokinesis. He managed to get up and emerge from the funhouse of mirrors (his lair) shortly after John and Charlie escape. Doctor Octopus then proceeds to strangle Charlie McGee with his upper right mechanical tentacle and remarks how Captain Hollister never had the brains to kill Charlie, only for him to be kicked in the kneecaps by John Rainbird, causing his upper right mechanical tentacle to release it's grip on Charlie, but he quickly gets back up on his feet. She then sends a fireball with her pyrokinetic powers flying straight at Doctor Octopus, resulting in him going flying next to the abandoned ferris wheel. He gets confused about being surrounded by explosives (Sticks of dynamite, bombs, and TNT's). They explode, and as the explosion sends all the old, abandoned rides to the ocean below. Seconds after his mechanical tentacles shut off, the abandoned ferris wheel and the old funhouse of mirrors sign land on top of Doctor Octopus, resulting in him drowning in the ocean. His black bowler hat emerges onto the surface.
Legacy[]
Despite his death, his actions still impact Charlie McGee one year later, as she now has a fear of octopuses.
Old Enemies[]
Due to Doctor Octopus's death, he doesn't make a physical appearance, but is seen in a picture in a newspaper that lays on the right armrest of the recliner in the living room in Georgie and Caitlyn's house.
Personality[]
Before his transformation into Doctor Octopus, Otto Octavius was warm, welcoming, and kind. He was even friendly with Charlie McGee, shown when they struck a conversation with each other. He also had remorse for the death of his wife, as shown when he was staring at his reflection in the water in front of the abandoned boardwalk.
Despite all of that, he's also cold, aggressive, and calculating. It was revealed that he was prone to violent mood swings, hinting at him being mentally unstable. That lead him to be convicted of domestic violence at the age of 17.
