Donald John Trump is a major antagonist in the United States storyline of the Hearts of Iron IV mod The Fire Rises. He serves as the main antagonist of the Union of America's path, and can become the villainous protagonist if the player chooses his route.
As the 45th and incumbent President of the United States, Trump faces numerous challenges near the 2020 election, including the COVID-19 pandemic, political instability, and economic decline. He can potentially be re-elected for a second term until the Second American Civil War inevitably breaks out once Wall Street crashes.
Once the war begins, he leads the government-in-exile in Denver, known as the American Constitutional Government, seeing itself as the rightful leadership of the United States, in contrast to the Washington-based government, which remains divided between Congress and the military.
Pre Civil War[]
Donald Trump in introduced as the current President of the United States, who kicks off with a speech to Congress that Pelosi rips apart. The first stages of his campaign would be met with the Coronavirus pandemic, which also happened around the time of the increasing radicalization of American Society. The violence would continue to grow following the death of an unarmed black protestor named Quinton Evans, leading to ongoing sieges across the United States, including an attempt to seize the White House, along with the foundation of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, which the US Government would later crush.
Should Trump win the 2020 Presidential election, he would focus on reinforcing his government and keeping America's policies as promised while having time to strengthen his loyalists, such as uniting the army and reinforcing the guns, having enough time before the inevitable civil war breaks out after the collapse of Wall Street, where the civil war officially begins.
Should Trump lose the 2020 Presidential election, he would begin to deny the election results, claiming it was stolen, which would allow the player to strengthen Trump's constitutionalists before the civil war begins, and have the option to ensure the civil war begins earlier.
Civil Warr[]
Once the Civil War began, Donald Trump set up his government in Denver, known as The American Constitutional Government. which involved a crackdown to enforce stability, along with refusing to negotiate with Congress in Washington as a result of the outbreak for the Civil War. Following the crackdown, the player would be given a choice to reinstall the Civilian Authority or keep martial law.
Throughout Trump's path, the player would have the option to balance between Congress and the Military, with the Military wanting to embrace a Stratocracy, while Congress wants to preserve Democracy. The player also has the option to go down three of the paths when balancing out the rivalry between Congress and the Military.
Should Trump empower the Bureaucrats, or have a high Libertarian popularity in terms of the percentage of its ideology, roughly 35% and above. He will appoint Rand Paul as Vice President and switch his ideology over to Market Liberalism, becoming a Libertarian President, which involves embracing the Military Industrial Complex and promoting Democracy and Businesses.
Should Trump maintain the balance between the Tea Party and Patriots, and sticks with the Conservative Ideology. He reaffirmed the Status Quo of his Conservative populist values and having the option to appoint a new Vice President, with candidates such as Marco Rubio, Byron Donalds, or J.D Vance.
Should Trump empower the Patriots in the balance of power. Eventually, he appoints Michael Flynn as Vice President. That involves redefining Martial Law and empowering Trump's ideology. Empowering the Patriots also leads to Trump consolidating his power, ensuring that he is the protector of American Values.
