Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is one of the two titular villainous protagonists of the DEATH BATTLE episode, "Eggman VS Wily" and the titular main antagonist of "Bowser VS Eggman."

He is the arch nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog who seeks taking over the world with his machines. He is also Dr. Wily and Bowser's arch nemeses and the master of Metal Sonic, Sage, and Infinite.

In his first appearance, he was voiced by Caden Redpearl, who also voiced Metal Sonic and Sonic. In his second appearance, he was voiced by Arthur Romeo.

Personality

Eggman is shown to be a sadistic and maniacal genius who takes glee in the chaos he causes. He also seems to care very little about his army, unlike Bowser. For example, the loss of Metal Sonic seemed to only upset him purely because he was one of his greatest weapons. He also had no qualms with sacrificing the entirety of his robots when he commands Sage to fire the Death Egg laser as a last ditch effort to wipe out Bowser and his forces, even sadistically laughing as he fled to safety, highlighting what a dirty coward he is. That being said, Eggman does seem to care about his artificial daughter, Sage, appearing genuinely distraught when Bowser Jr. turned the Death Egg into a ? Block since she had currently fused with it, though it's evident he also views her as a weapon for his disposition in certain situations.

Trivia

• Eggman's plan in the beginning of his battle against Bowser, "Operation Catfish" is a direct reference to the 2nd Sonic the Hedgehog movie, where the plan was to trick one person (Bowser in this case) into thinking he was going to be married, only to reveal their true plan in the end.
• Like many Death Battles with the Sonic cast, many Sonic and Mario fans say that Eggman should have won his fight against Bowser.
• Eggman's opening quote in "Bowser VS Eggman", "I've come to make an announcement!" is from Dr. Eggman's rant from SnapCube's Sonic Adventure 2 Dark Story Real-Time Fandub.
  • The animator of the fight, MORØ, did a skit on Twitter in which Eggman won by using his "Super Duper Laser Piss" attack to outright destroy the planet, completed with Alfred Coleman's lines to boot.
