Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, later known as Golden Sonic, is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Sonic's series.
He serves as the unseen overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Sonic's, the overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Sonic's 2 and Five Nights at Sonic's 3, the main antagonist of Five Nights at Sonic's 4 and the main protagonist of Five Nights at Sonic's 5 (with his Shadow Sonic incarnation serving as the main antagonist and his '27 and Nightmare incarnations serving as major antagonists). He is also the main antagonist of the non-canon spinoff Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania and would have been the titular main antagonist of the cancelled game RockClones: Dr. Golden's Attack.
Once a prestigious mad scientist and arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog in life, he became mad with revenge after Origin Sonic, a defunct clone at Sonic's Fast Food Diner, bit off his frontal lobe. He proceeded to tamper with the cloning machine at the restaurant, making the clones aggressive and monstrous and demonic, before deciding to kill them one by one years later to tie up lose ends. He was later killed by one of the clones, Salvage Sonic, and ironically enough, possessed Origin/Golden Sonic.
After his cloning material covered his entire body, Golden Sonic became Shadow Sonic and attempted to crack the timeline by going back to the first location and killing his past self to create a paradox. After this failed, he stopped the cloning material from melting his body and became Dr. Golden, resuming his original intentions of world domination.
In Maniac Mania, his 2027, Nightmare and Dr. Golden incarnations are voiced by Marp, who also voices Golden Sonic's 2015 and 2017 incarnations, while his Shadow Sonic form is voiced by TheGamingSalmon, who also voiced Nightmare Sonic.
Appearance[]
In FNaS 3, Golden Sonic's cloning material has covered his lower arms, hands, calves and feet. Cloning material is gushing from his eyes and from the inside of his mouth, with is now filled with sharp, triangular teeth. Cloning material has stained the edge of his quills, and his hat and bowtie have melted more into his fur.
In FNaS 4, the cloning material has taken over half of Golden Sonic's body, only the left side of his torso, thigh, upperarm and the side of his head are visible. Half of his hat has been torn.
In FNaS 5, Shadow Sonic is a fully black incarnation of Golden Sonic after the cloning material has melted over his entire body. His eyes and mouth are now glowing white. In Hard Mode of FNaS 5, all of the previous versions of Golden Sonic (including Origin Sonic) are given a phantom-like makeover, being covered in a dirty, ghostly texture, similar to the phantoms of FNaS 3. '27 Golden Sonic's cloning material on his arms and legs are not melting and he gains a stretched-out grin and white slits for pupils, and Nightmare Golden Sonic has more cloning material melting on him and lacks out eyepupils, Shadow Sonic's Hard Mode skin turns his eyes into a red bloodshot and turns his mouth red with a jagged pattern.
In RockClones, Dr. Golden resembles Origin Sonic, with the exception of his black eyes leaking cloning material and red pupils. His gloves and tophat are now a dark crimson color with his red bowtie being tied around his neck to hold up a red cade with the initials "Dr. G" on the back. His legs are gone and fitted with robotic replacements, along with red shoes.
Biography[]
After the events of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, Sonic opened up a restaurant called Sonic's Fast Food Diner, a place where his fans and other children could meet him. However, due to being away most of the time, he wasn't able to attend everyday. Tails decided to create a clone of Sonic with his permission, and created the cloning machine. After the cloning process, the machine produced a clone of Sonic with a different color scheme due to it being an early model. Origin Sonic was fitted with a hat and bowtie and became the mascot of the restaurant.
For unknown reasons, Dr. Eggman applied for the nightshift at the location. However, Origin Sonic mistakes Eggman for a burglar attempting to rob the place, and tries to reach his office each night so he can kill him. Throughout the nights, multiple incarnations of Origin Sonic's future self, Golden Sonic, appeared, alongside Shadow Sonic, who was there to kill Eggman and create a paradox in the timeline. Origin Sonic starts acting up during the day due to encountering Shadow Sonic and the other Golden Sonic's from the future. At the end of the sixth night, Eggman is about to leave when Origin Sonic scares him and bites a chunk of his head off. The event becomes known as the 'Bite of '91', and the restaurant is shut down, with Golden Sonic being left to rot as Eggman enters a coma.
24 years later in 2015, an obscure company decides to re-open Sonic's Fast Food Diner under a new name, Sonic's Hero Pizza Palace. Golden Sonic is transported to the new location, however, his cloning material has started to leak onto his face. Golden Sonic is placed in the backroom as a backup character in case something happened to the main clones. During the process to clone Sonic, Mario, Yoshi and Tails, Eggman returned for revenge. Eggman tampered with the cloning machine, which made the clones aggressive and monstrous and demonic at night. However, the location was shut down and Golden Sonic, alongside the other clones, were left behind.
In 2017, a new location was opened, and the clones were placed in the backroom, with Golden Sonic being out of sight in the camera. His cloning material has begun to melt even more, and his accessories were melting and becoming attached to his body. Amy Rose took the nightshift, however, after working overtime, Golden Sonic killed Amy as she had seen too much. This incident caused the second location to close down.
Ten years later, the clones were brought to a storage unit. Eggman returned to the new location and locked Sonic in the backroom, he then killed Mario, Yoshi and Tails. After Sonic, now Salvage Sonic, escaped the backroom, he found Eggman as he commanded Salvage Sonic to attack the spirits off his friends. However, Salvage Sonic rebelled and stabbed Eggman with the same knife he used to kill his friends, ending the doctor's life. With his spirit unable to pass on and wanting revenge, Eggman possessed Golden Sonic, who had left his body as an empty husk. When the new location opened, Golden Sonic was placed in the backroom as a spare character. After the location burned down, Golden Sonic disappeared.
One year later, Golden Sonic (now known as Nightmare Golden Sonic) came across Salvage Sonic trying to reincarnate his friends with the cloning machine. Nightmare Golden Sonic told Salvage Sonic that he could help him, but stabbed and killed him instead as revenge. After killing Salvage Sonic, he stuffed his body inside his creation, the Toymare. Nightmare Golden Sonic later created a new body for Salvage Sonic's spirit, known as Nightmare Sonic, and offered to help the rest of the nightmare clones to hunt Luigi, who was hiding in the original Sonic's Hero Pizza Palace, however, they were unable to catch him. After the nightmare clones were captured, Nightmare Golden Sonic and the Toymare escaped.
Shortly after the events after FNaS 4, Nightmare Golden Sonic's cloning material covered his entire body, turning him into Shadow Sonic. Now with the ability to travel through time, he travels back to 2015, 2017, 2027 and 2028, and gathers all of his past iterations, transporting them and himself back to 1991. Shadow Sonic was going to create a paradox in the timeline by killing his human self, Eggman, who was working the nightshift at Sonic's Fast Food Diner. When the Bite of '91 happens, Shadow Sonic transports the Golden Sonics back to their own times, as well as his own.
Shadow Sonic decides to fix his body, as the cloning material has begun to melt his body entirely. With no other option, Shadow Sonic cuts off his legs, which stops the melting. Utilizing the cloning machines and his knowledge of robotics, he fixed his body and built robotic legs so he could walk.

Golden Sonic will occasionally appear in any one of the cameras. The player must switch to another camera or he will kill the player. Alternatively, Golden Sonic will appear behind the maintenance panel, the player must hold the panel up for a few seconds to make him go away.

Nightmare Golden Sonic will enter the office through either hallway, and the player has to hide under the desk to avoid getting killed by him. Failure to do so, or flashing the light in the hallway will get the player killed. Nightmare Golden Sonic gives the player less time to react than the other nightmares, so checking the halways are therefore risky.
Five Nights at Sonic's 5: The First Chapter[]
'27 Golden Sonic will occasionally appear in any one of the cameras, the player must quickly switch to a different camera to avoid getting jumpscared by him.
Nightmare Golden Sonic will start in the south side of the building and make his way towards the office. If he appears near the doors, the player must shine the light on him to make him leave.
Shadow Sonic will start in the Prop Room and make his way towards the office. If he is at the doors, the player must shine the light on him to make him go away. Additionally, staring at Shadow Sonic for too long on will cause the monitor to glitch. If the player doesn't shine the light on him or stares at Shadow Sonic in the cameras for too long, Shadow Sonic will kill the player.
Five Nights at Sonic's: Maniac Mania[]
'27 Golden Sonic will randomly appear in the cameras, if the player stares at him on the cameras for too long, he'll kill the player. The player must switch to another camera to avoid him attacking them. Alternatively, '27 Golden Sonic can appear under the desk in the office, the player must put on the mask or raise the monitor to avoid him attacking.
Nightmare Golden Sonic will start in the basement and will make his way to the office through either one of the doors. Although he's invisible to the cameras, the signal that he's about to enter the office comes from the flickering lights. The player must shine the light on him to make him leave. Although the player can shut the door to prevent him from coming in, it won't make him leave.
Shadow Sonic will start in the basement and make his way to the office through either one of the doors. When he's at the door, the player must shine light on him to make him leave. If the player closes the door, it will prevent him from killing the player, although he won't leave. Additionally, if the player stares at him on the cameras for too long, he'll instantly kill them.
Dr. Golden is a character that can be summoned by Balloon Toad. Dr. Golden starts in the backstage and make his way to the office via the doorways. He will teleport through the building using the Phantom Ruby, and use it to create duplicates of himself. The duplicates, however, do not have a glowing Phantom Ruby, whereas the real Dr. Golden does. When Dr. Golden arrives at one doorway, a clone will appear at the opposite doorway. The player must close the door on the real Dr. Golden.
If the player completes the "Maniac Mania" challenge, Dr. Golden will appear and reveal that the entire game is an arcade machine. He will let the player ask twelve questions before he leaves with the Phantom Ruby.
