Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is a major character in the analog horror web series Sonic Adventure: The Forgotten Files by Low Poly, serving as the protagonist villain of the episode "Eggman Adventure Mode". He is an evil genius scheming to destroy Station Square and built Eggmanland on top of its ruins.
Appearance[]
Dr. Eggman uses his classic appearance, closely resembling his Sonic R character model.
Biography[]
According to in-series lore, this version of Dr. Eggman comes from an early, unreleased Sega Saturn version of Sonic Adventure. Similar to his role in the actual game, he released Chaos and plans to use his power to destroy the city of Station Square and build his dream city of Eggmanland in its place.
Eggman Adventure Mode[]
Eggman's story mode starts with him walking into the Final Egg, cursing Sonic and deciding to resort to his "backup plan". He releases Metal Sonic, Tails Doll and Metal Knuckles to assist him, and sends the former two to capture animals in Emerald Coast. He remotely controls Tails Doll, making it follow Metal Sonic, and advises Sonic's doppelganger on what to do and not to do. After Metal Sonic completes the mission, he goes to Speed Highway and tasks Metal Knuckles to find the Master Emerald shards before the real Knuckles does, still using Tails Doll to follow his creation. The robot executes the order successfully, Eggman boasts that Sonic's demise is imminent. His celebrations are cut short though, as on his way back to the hotel, Tikal ambushes him and uses Soul Capture on the doctor. It's later shown that the Master Emerald is complete once again, implying that Tikal had used the shards in Knuckles and Eggman's possession to restore it.
Forgotten Ending[]
After Perfect Chaos and Spider-Girl's defeat, Sonic and Tikal use the Master Emerald to bring all captured characters, Eggman included, back to life. He is seen on the ending screen with the rest of the cast.
Personality[]
Dr. Eggman is an egotistical and arrogant scientist, willing to go to great lengths to satisfy his bloated ego. Though arrogant, he is not above taking precautions, as he had a backup plan against Sonic and his friends just in case, and successfully executed it until Tikal's intervention. He also expresses pride in his Badniks whenever they successfully accomplish his tasks.
Trivia[]
- Eggman himself is only playable in the hub world, while his story mode's action stages are played through as his Badniks.
- Scrapped Easter Egg implies that Eggman has some sort of connection with Terios, possibly a deeper one than his canon counterpart's with Shadow the Hedgehog, as the easter egg involving Terios is hidden in the Final Egg and is called "[Eggman's] secret". This detail, however, was never elaborated upon.
- Dr. Eggman is the sixth playable character in the Sega Saturn version, while in the Dreamcast version, it's E-102 Gamma, who is curiously absent from the early build.
