Dr. Finkelstein is the main antagonist of the Nightmare Before Christmas fan-made animatic "Fragmental Memories", which was made by Beedknee and sung by MilkyyMelodies.
In this adaptation, he is a mad scientist whom after losing his own daughter Sally after the latter got executed for being accused of being a "witch", he would go to kill three unnamed women to use their body parts to re-create Sally's body and to bring his daughter back.
Biography[]
In the past, Dr. Finkelstein was shown to once be a human who had a daughter named Sally, at the time estimated to be around the 1590's, in whom he genuinely cares for. He would teach her about magic and potions, in which his daughter got interest of. As his daughter become an adult and decided to plan on making potions of her own around the 1600's, Finkelstein didn't approve this. Later, Sally would get wrongfully accused of being a witch by the townsfolk, Sally would get to her being beheaded and have her body burned at the stake.
He would become remorseful for not being able to protect his daughter, keeping his daughter's head and becoming desperate of getting his own daughter back and preserving her head in a jar. As he got older, he turned himself into a monster, likely experimenting on himself in order to keep himself alive so he could find a way to get his Sally back.
He would find three unnamed women before killing them and using their body parts to rebuild Sally's new body so he could attach her to her new "body". Unknownst to Finkelstein, Sally would end up hearing the voices of the spirits of the three women in which her body parts were from (one for her arms, one for her legs, and one for her torso).
Dr Finkelstein gets away with all of his crimes and gets what he wants in the end: achieving his main goal of getting his daughter back.
Personality[]
He is shown to be similar to his original counterpart, being rather being overly protective and keeping of Sally with him at the tower. He was also shown to be charismatic, as he did use it to lure the second woman to his car before later killing her. However, he would later be shown that in the past, he would be shown to be the father of Sally, whom he genuinely cares for. After his daughter got executed for being accused of being a witch, Dr Finkelstein would feel guilt for not being able to protect her. His want for getting his daughter back would become obsession and desperation, leading to him killing three women to re-create Sally's body so he could bring his daughter back.
It would also show that the reason why he refuses to let Sally leave is due to not wanting to lose her again, especially due to what happened to her many years ago.
