Dr. Francis Dave, later known as Preston Prime, is the overarching antagonist of the YouTube ARG series Shorts Wars, serving as the unseen overarching antagonist of Season 1, the overarching antagonist of Season 2, and the main antagonist of Season 3.
He is a scientist, and the creator of the Cloning Machine. Before making it, he kidnapped a newborn baby from their family, and used the child to create the machine. This child would eventually become the series' main villain, the Boss.
At some point, Dave would die of old age. However, he would reincarnate himself into a new form, one created by his machine, that being Riggy Runkey's clone, Preston (Shorts Wars). He is also the archenemy of Jonny RaZeR, due to being responsible for kidnapping his brother in the past to work on his cloning machine.
He is voiced by BamBaeYoh, who also played himself in the same series.

Dave's human appearance is entirely unknown.
After taking over Preston's body, Dave has turned into a horrifically-realistic rabbit-like creature resembling Preston, with tall ears, white eyes, a grotesque-looking body and sharp fingers. He also wears Preston's purple shorts from Season 3.
Personality[]
Dave is a sociopathic, self-aware social-darwinist who is willing to risk putting innocent lives at risk. He is described as a "mad scientist", due to his ambitions and obsession with defying the rules of life and death by creating the cloning machine. Prior to his death, he seems to genuinely care for The Boss during one of his last logs as a way to get back at the people who would steal his life's work.

Past[]
Not much is known about his past he once worked at an Unnamed company as a well-respected scientist, where he drives to work every morning at 2 am, however one of his strange encounters were sensing "two new souls would be born", Francis began recording his logs on documenting the relationships between the two souls that share a difference and not their bodies, dedicating his new life to understanding to replicate the exact other soul that he would produce himself for evil intent, however Francis's unhealthy ambition lead to being feared by his entire Scientific community. As a result, Francis would be eventually stripped of his official titles to be reduced, being resigned to only working as a Family Doctor, a growing resentment to which he would consider a "pathetic form of Punishment" due to still retaining his degrees as he would use to infiltrate the hospital that particular morning where would "Knew what I needed to do" where Francis would start to kidnapping children, the third and final child in which Francis claimed "he would be the one to finally make things tick" which he would consider being a success to his experiments. One Day Francis decided to arrive at the Hospital at 3:26 AM where began planning to arrive four minutes early from his daily shift, where he would encounter a woman who was going into labour with two children, which he presumably began planning on delivering them after a "long and painful process" until they were ready, later at 7:51 AM, the unnamed mother successfully delivered two baby Boys in which Francis began to immediately secretly steal away one of the twins who were considered identical to each other, commenting that it was a "necessary Lie" implying that he covered up the disappearance of the twins as he "wished for an easier way to go about it" implementing the grief the mother suffered after being lied to by Francis about her newborn children. Francis would comment that there was a "Complication" which suggests one of the twins were corrupted when he was working on the cloning experiment, showing a bit of regret for the method in hand, but brushes it off with "much things must be done in the pursuit of progress", Francis manages to move the child safely to one of his facilities and planned on "giving up the Key" to the stolen Twin, giving the Boss to inherit the Cloning Machine due to knowing that "My Time is Soon" knowing the price that he was going to pay for.
Francis began creating the first version of the Machine in 2002, yet at the process it could not replicate a body yet, but only the mind, Francis would begin further developments onto the machine after "several years of tweaking" successfully completing a prototype. Francis uses the Machine on the Boy which merged a copy of his exact soul inside of him, calling it "The other" observing that his subject gave the same responses but not all of the time, which Francis concluded that it could be the same person, before reverting the boy back to his initial state. After reverting the Young Boss, this would backfire as the latter began to feel confused due to possessing both souls with different memories separate of knowing who he would truly is, Francis realised too late that he had broken him into insanity, as he had managed t survive the process as mentioning "unlike the others" implying that the other kidnapped children had never survived the process. Francis began to notice a flaw from the child that he realises that two souls cannot share one body at once as the effect would lead to visible cracks, further damaging the boy as he attempts to extract the "excess" away from his body, considering the science of souls are not perfect, creating the first clone.
Until 2009 Where he began completing a fully working Clone Machine, where Francis manages to program the machine to print exact body copies from the original along with the mind, but had concluded another flaw that the clone would age, as the clone cycle begins from an embryo that encases the DNA of the exact age the original version replicated the age from it's original host, Francis needed to find a way to create clones of any age or rather to speed up or reverse the passage of time to create the perfect body, having managed to gain a benefactor to continuing funding Francis's shady experiments, referring only as "They" as Francis delivered the first successful clones to a "family" while his Benefactors knew the results would take time after finishing their end of the bargain with providing Francis the beneficial funds for his experiments, before continuing to plan his next experiment was to "Fight the power of Time" knowing the difficulties of it as the log ends with Francis beginning to go back to work.
On his Eleventh log from December 13th 2022, at some point he died but not before managing to complete his life's work before passing away at his own desk, the clone was there who gave a solemn look which himself had reflected what he was thinking, and points out to never be the end due to an identical one would take it's place and continue the work that his original body once did (foreshadowing his return after reincarnating into Preston) Never truly find out if he would truly die or not, sensing that his mortal shell had fallen as the clone made him anew and that he still retained his memories while also being aware that it was not whom he had expect to be.
Francis began his warning on Log-15 where he included a failsafe as a contingency for cheating death, knowing if someone uses the machine again, he will be brought back in the realm of living again, while also fear what "he" will do to him. Stating that his work cannot be lost and remarks that the Boss knows how to operate it, pointing out that He taught him everything about his life's work, while also stating for him to be the key to his own undoing, while also expressing remorse for the cloning process "upon this cursed world" before the log ends.
Shorts Wars[]
Some time before the Boss' trial, cdotkom began investigating F.D. after foiling the Boss's plans which was the first statement made by CloneVPN, this discoveriy lead to gathering recorded logs that were found in one of his old facilities and revealed to be the one who taught the Boss on how to operate the machine in the first place. Bam would review the last of the logs and concludes that Dr. Francis Dave hasn't been dead and has been present inside the courtroom, surprising everyone including both Blam and Preston pointing out Francis's host Preston as the suspect, becoming nervous as Preston teleports from the Courtroom before the Boss was concluded to be "Not Guilty" over the charges pointing towards Francis himself. Upon secretly slipped away from the trial, Preston became increasingly paranoid after the serum used to prevent Francis's soul from controlling him had already ran out as more Cracks became to form from his body that unleashed Francis who upon himself took control over the clone's body and returns to the Courtroom where he would end up conjuring a knife and attempted to murder Johnny Razer for exposing his crimes before Francis attempts to charge towards Johnny until The Boss immediately intervenes and takes the blow instead as an act of redemption for his previous crimes, shocking everyone else. after The Boss's Death Johnny took it upon himself by pulling the knife out and throwing it towards Francis, piercing his head with the blade, leaving the latter to began slowly burst into laughter while loosing his sanity before calling out the move to be "pathetic" as more cracks began to show around his body, urging Jonny to then call the other Youtube Short Creators to teleport the numerous people from the jury out of the Courtroom to safety while a black smouldering black hole crashes from the ceiling while Francis began pulling himself out of Preston's body while the rest of the Courtroom was destroyed in a second, with Francis completing his transformation as Preston Prime.
In the Final Battle The Shorts Youtubers/ The Rumble Pack face off against Preston Prime one on one with many attempts as Harold and Bundun repeatedly pummelled Preston Prime before Jonny landed a "1.7 million subscribers Smash" which managed to lay a blow onto Prime but the latter soon emits a powerful blast that knocked the other Shorts youtubers away as he approaches an injured Jonny who was fortunately saved by Bam who led the other combined forced of Shorts Youtubers to face off against Francis before Jonny and cdotkom manage to hold Preston Prime down while Bam feeds him with a Cheez puff which proved to stun Prime long enough for Riggy Runkey to help teleport Danno to deliver the final blow with a katana to drive onto and eventually Destroy Preston Prime's body, causing him along with Francis Dave to disintegrate into nothing, putting an end to his threat for good along with avenging the Boss's death along with many others he had experimented on the past.
