The Dragon is one of four main antagonists from 20th Century Fox's 1994 live-action/animated feature The Pagemaster. The dragon serves a minor antagonist in the Character What franchise, basely serving Shadow Aaron.
Personality[]
Unlike the rest of the villains that Richard Tyler faced. The dragon is more of a animalistic monster rather than a malevolent character. However, the dragon is still considered as a threat to anyone who dare confront the beast. This mostly demonstrated when the Dragon attacked Shadow Joe and his team, though it was really a test to help encourage Twilight Sparkle to bravely fight the Dragon by herself.
However, when Shadow Aaron brought the dragon into the real world to serve him, it became more a truly dangerous monster who would really try to kill anyone in it's path. The dragon also followed Shadow Aaron's orders with completely no hesitation.
After being freed from Shadow Aaron's control, the dragon became more tamed and friendly to anyone greeting it, such as when it let Fluttershy pet it on the head to show it was no longer a threat.
Character What: Ultimate Hero[]
In The Test, Shadow Joe brought Twilight Sparkle along Donald Duck and Lola Bunny to the library, they saw the dragon as a picture in the center of the library, which melts and shapes into the dragon and trapped Shadow Joe and friends into the world of illustrations. They later encountered with the real dragon who was hibernation, but woken up by Twilight Sparkle. Shadow Joe and his friends hide into a cave to protect themselves from the Dragon's wrath. Donald Duck angerly confront the Dragon for trying to kill them, but only to be harmed by the dragon's fire breath. Shadow Joe persuaded Twilight Sparkle that she must face the dragon to show it how brave she is. Encouraged, Twilight fearlessly fought the dragon, but she gets caught in the dragon's tail, and the dragons swallows her whole. However, inside the dragon's stomach, Twilight opens the Jack and the Beanstalk book and grab onto the beanstalk as it grows up to the dragon's throat, forcing the dragon to regurgitate Twilight. However, the dragon bites the beanstalk, causing it to fall down nowhere when the dragon tries to swallow Twilight again, but Twilight manages escape and reaches the exist, where the dragon pleasantly congratulates her for her bravery.
In the next episode, Shadow Aaron transports the dragon along Mr. Hyde, Ahab and Long John Silver into the real world within his empire. The dragon menacingly greets Discord by snaring at him, which intimidates him.
In Year of the Dragon, the Dragon was with several other dragons who appeared in the series, it is mostly seen with the Sapphire Dragon and Maleficent in her dragon form.
