~ Duolingo as he threatens the viewer. |
Duolingo, serves as the villainous protagonist of CG5's 2019 song, Push. In the song, he is portrayed as a sadistic kidnapper who kidnaps the viewer's family, and locks them on the highest floor of a tower. His behavior is based on the popular meme surrounding Duolingo near the song's release.
Appearance[]
Duolingo is a small green owl with green marks arounds its eyes, and has green wings, an yellow beak, and orange feet. He also has three chest feathers on his chest.
His design is based off the 2019 design of the character.
Biography and Character Information[]
The song is essentially Duolingo threatening the viewer until he or she manages to do their Spanish lessons, becoming obsessed with it to an unhealthy degree in which he makes threats towards him, and tells him that he has underestimated his power, possibly showing his arrogance. Later on in the song, he kidnaps the viewer's family and places them in a tower on the highest floor, and addresses how he doesn't care if he has to kill the viewer's family if they don't get done with their Spanish lessons, showing he is a sadistic psychopath. He also displays his sadistic nature as he takes enjoyment in how much fear he is striking into the viewer. Despite his evil nature, Duolingo does seen a bit honorable as after the Spanish lessons are complete he drops the plan into killing the viewer's family.
It's possible he might be able to classify as a "anti-villain" due to his strict teaching ultimately stemming from him wanting people to do their Spanish lessons, to go and learn the language and to help them learn.
Villainous Actions[]
- Kidnapping - He kidnaps the viewer's family.
- Attempted mass murder - He tries to kill the viewer's entire family if they don't do their Spanish lessons.

Trivia[]
- As said before, Duolingo acting this way was due to a popular meme of the character at the time of the video's release in April 2019.
