~ EXE. |
EXE, also known as Faker is the main antagonist of his upcoming game Sonic Prototype 2017 created by Raven.
He is the result of a botched attempt at creating a vessel by the interdimensional entity known as X, who cast him aside shortly after his creation.
Appearance[]
This interpretation of the character is much closer to Classic Sonic in design, though having desaturated fur, blue arms, and shoes lacking buckles & belts. His quills end in pitch-black points, as well as a protruding brow line, giving him a constant off-putting, uneasy angry expression. His knees are more prominent, and has wrinkles under his eyes. His eyes are separated down the middle, and have small lines of exposed flesh near underneath his brow line.
Unveiling his second form, EXE becomes covered in black tendrils growing from his neck, with his limbs & torso stretching to become extraordinarily long, giving him a tall, menacing appearance. His skin becomes pale-white, as well as his "gloves", and "socks" melding into his body. His eyes begin to split apart like an aperture, rendering them a hollow, pitch-black appearance. His mouth stretches to fit his newly grown row of shark-like teeth, while his snout and nose become more animalistic, akin to that of a bear.[1]
His transformation implies EXE is able to manipulate his body proportions, colors, and features at will, as he quickly shifts into his second form at the end of "Faker", which drastically changes all the aspects described.
Personality[]
EXE is a dark, cruel, and crooked being, hellbent on vengeance against those who wronged him, and set on conquest of all he can seize. He lives for the suffering of all other life, and seeing others tear themselves apart. If he were to enter our reality permanently, all is lost. For not just this Earth, but every world and universe beyond it.
The Black Sun, the centerpiece and most daunting presence in EXE's realm, serves as a storage vault for the souls of his victims. Some souls leak out and plummet to the realm below, creating forms of Sonic characters. Some are more perfect than others, but all of the vessels are built off the assets and world EXE manipulated and created as a façade to lure more into his clutches.
Biography[]
EXE was an entity that has it's origins sprout from the original X, before his first appearance in 2011. Unlike the latter, EXE was not an entity that hails from the void directly, rather was one of X’s experiments with creating a new form of life, based off his own matter from the void, technically making them related by blood. Despite this, EXE did not agree with the objectives of his predecessor, wishing to overthrow him for the sake of his own goals. EXE had a vision for humanity and all other life. X, however, did not take too kindly to his insubordination. With lordship among his guardians, X cast out EXE for rebelling, believing him to be simply getting in the way of his “fun”. EXE ended up banished to another universe, another Earth.
The Harbingers[]
- Main article: Harbingers
After EXE was cast out by X and his Guardians, EXE created his four of his own, entities known as the Harbingers. The Harbingers, unlike EXE, purely exist in the real world, and are EXE's method to hunt for more souls passively[2]. These Harbingers are: Sour the Rabbit (Who represents EXE's body), Max the Doll (Who represents EXE's emotions), Tilen (Who represents EXE's manipulation), hr2003 (Who represents EXE's poison).
Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: He is capable of lifting up to 50 times his body weight.
- Superhuman Durability: His body cannot take physical damage via normal means. He can be pushed back, restrained or dazed, but not injured.
- Shape-shifting: He can turn into his Faker form on command.
- Fire Manipulation: He is shown to be able to summon fire at will
- Teleportation: He is seen being able to near-instantaneously teleport to any location within his sight.
Other Media[]
Friday Night Funkin'[]
- Main article: EXE (Vs. Sonic.Exe)

EXE as he appears in Vs. Sonic.Exe.
EXE is the main antagonist of the upcoming Sonic Prototype 2017 game and was an antagonist from the Friday Night Funkin' Mod called Vs Sonic.Exe. He was later removed from the mod due to Raven being framed for grooming minors.
EXE was later added back to FNF such as EXEmerge but was replaced with EYX due to Raven wanted him banned from FNF. However she later changed her mind and his still scheduled to appear.
Pillar Chase 2[]

EXE as he appears in Pillar Chase 2.
EXE appears in the Roblox game Pillar Chase 2 as a playable killer.
EXE's unique abilites are "Too Slow" and "Thorny Grave". Too Slow has him charge forward with an outstretched hand, grab any survivor he comes across and bite them. Thorny Grave has him set a trap in the form of a bunch of dark tendrils on the ground in front of him. Players that walk over the spot where EXE set the trap will get caught and have to try and free themselves while EXE is alerted to their location and given a temporary speed boost.
Trivia[]
- He takes major inspiration from 2017 X.
- His upcoming game has also been confirmed to take major inspiration from said story. However, it won't take the Modern Sonic, Generations-like approach the original story described, instead going for a Classic, low-poly aesthetic.
- EXE's faker form lacks teeth completely.[3]
- His mouth is sealed shut except for when he mutates into his true form, eats or makes any sort of noise.
- EXE is incapable of human/English speech, and can only speak in very specific circumstances.
- Revie never intended EXE to be referred to as “Faker”. The reason most people refer to him like that is thanks to the Vs. Sonic.exe mod. Since he wasn’t that well known by the time the mod came out, people didn’t know EXE’s name, and so they assumed the name of his first song, “Faker”, was his actual name. Revie went out of her way to correct this misconception after the mod was out, but she expressed how she was fine with it afterwards.
- The design showcased in VS. Sonic.EXE is an outdated design. The character got redesigned some time after said mod's release.
- The stains are indeed a part of his design, and not a strange shading choice. They've been confirmed to be AntiMatter which has a hard time staying within EXE's vessel, leaking out, and staining his quills.
- He does not know how to play any instruments, or is even sophisticated in human culture enough to know instruments or even respect the craft.
- He does play chess very well though.
- EXE is almost impossible to kill. However, he can be eradicated by a specific ritual being performed, which only Lord X or a variant of the original Sonic.exe have knowledge of performing correctly.
- A common misconception about the Harbingers is that they reside in different Earths, when they actually reside in different parts of the same one.
- The length of EXE's games varies between different players. Sometimes the game doesn't provide a playable character, so EXE can simply kill people as soon as they open the game. If a playable character is provided, they act as a perfect vessel for a playable window. Either way, EXE gets the opportunity to take the victims' soul essence after they die.
- EXE hates most other EXE's, especially his creator, Lord X, and other interpretations of the original Sonic.EXE (Not Xenophanes). An exception are those who are driven by power and strong ambition (A couple examples include Griatos, and Needlem0use).
- EXE is able to see into other universes, spying on other entities like himself.
- Whenever a soul falls from the Black Sun, EXE will usually only go for the beings that aren't unholy monstrosities since they're already tearing themselves apart.
- EXE, alongside Bandado and Lord Mortis, have been confirmed to be canon to the official Sonic.exe Multiverse on Twitter.[4]
