Samael, later known as Eclipsed Sonic or simply Eclipse, is an antagonist created and owned by UNIQCREEP13.
Once an angel of divine power and morals, Eclipse was unjustly judged and banished from Heaven after speaking out against his Father for His monstrous actions and cast into the pits of Hell to live life as a fallen angel, becoming consumed by hate and vengeful desires getting back at his siblings and Father for what they had done to him.
After being summoned to Earth by an emotionally unstable Satanist, the now powerful demonic entity possessed and manifested as a corrupted bootleg plushie of Sonic the Hedgehog to gain a physical form and set his sights on cleansing the world of sinners by psychologically torturing them, using the sins they've committed against them in order to reap their souls and ascend back to Heaven to take his revenge.
Appearance[]
Eclipse's default form is that of a tall, hulking, demonic incarnation of Sonic the Hedgehog which was gained through possessing an innocent looking bootleg plushie, as well as having a mysterious anatomy. His color scheme is darker and his eyes are completely black with burning orange pupils and surrounded by a black, cracked pattern resembling fire. Unlike Sonic, Eclipse also possesses incredibly sharp teeth and his lower quills stick upwards, with all his quills' edges/outlines being covered in the same black texture as his eyes. He wears purely red shoes with white cuffs and his gloves are torn, with an orange, eye-like symbol on the palms of his hands and sharp claws. Eclipse can also summon a black, skeletal internal arm from inside his mouth. and he's consistently bleeding tar from his neck from a wound sustained by having his throat slit by Gabriel before being cast into Hell.
Eclipse can also take a shorter, less corrupted looking form with less stronger black textures on his quills and around his eyes, and lacking pupils.
Eclipse's Hellfire form is a large, towering, pale version of his default form with large cracks in various areas revealing the fire inside him, like his eyes, which are now conjoined together and with white pupils. His mouth now bleeds tar alongside his neck and his back quills are larger and sharper. He's also able to manifest fiery shoes that cover his feet and has a mouth on his stomach with large, sharp teeth that reveal more fire inside of him.
Eclipse also has a human form with blacking marking around the tips of his hair and eyes. He wears a high-collar jacket with curling, black markings. He also has one fully black pupil and one orange pupil. Eclipse's true forms from his life as an angel and his current demonic state are unknown.
Personality[]
Being a fiery demon from Hell, Eclipse is a naturally intimidating and tough person who channels his intimidating demeanour to frightening his victims before inflicting them with psychological warfare. A shadow of his former self who strived for justice, peace and the protection of mankind, Eclipse has undergone a transformation that has twisted his personality into something monstrous, finding great pleasure in watching the suffering of others as they succumb to facing the consequences of their actions and the sins they've committed, as well as getting involved himself by physically torturing them and personally inflicting hallucinations and other forms of psychological torture to break his victims down before reaping them of their souls.
As an angel who was unfairly cast out of Heaven due to the corruption of his siblings and Father, Eclipse is filled with a burning desire to take revenge against his family for what they did to him and wipe out their precious humanity. Being so incredibly filled with hate that blinds him, Eclipse doesn't see his actions as monstrous and instead believes his desires of killing off mankind to be justice, as in his eyes, he's 'cleansing' the world of sinners, showing that he views humans as corrupt and inherently evil.
Underneath his rough exterior, Eclipse is wracked with trauma and vengeance due to his past, with his intimidating persona being just that, a facade to mask his true nature, that of a heavily insecure and scared individual who fears being cast out and discarded. He acts intimidating to avoid appearing weak and feeds his anger to ensure he can keep up his facade for as long as he can. In his mind, he cannot afford being vulnerable and getting hurt.
Biography[]
Billions of years ago, Eclipse was the angel known as Samael, the Angel of Justice who sought to protect humanity and help humans in need of cleansing themselves of sin, acting as a beacon of hope for humanity and a righteous guardian angel who protected humanity from evil, smiting down all those who stood for injustice and corruption.
On one faithful day, Samael confronted his creator, God, after the deity had sent a wave of destruction towards earth, wiping out an entire village filled with innocent inhabitants. Considering His acts to be unjust, cruel and unfair to the moral humans who only hoped for peace, Samael furiously confronted God and demanded to know why He did it. To his shock, God denied an answer, calling the angel arrogant and insolent before sending him to be imprisoned where he rotted for five days until he was carried out and forced to stand trial to his standing up against God, where a parliament of angels were left to decide whether or not Samael deserved to be cast out of Heaven for what he did. The parliament allowed Samael to bring someone to testify for him, but knowing the angels had a generally unfavorable view of him for standing up towards their father, Samael insisted on bringing a human to Heaven and the angel Gabriel was sent to fetch one. Unbeknownst to Samael, Gabriel was the angel who despised him the most and after recovering a human, struck a deal with them to lie about Samael in exchange for direct transferal to Heaven upon their death.
With the human selfishly agreeing to the deal, they testified and lied about Samael, painting him as a wicked angel and casting an even more unfavorable view than the other angels already had of him. Disgraced, shunned and clearly no longer welcome in Heaven for speaking out against his father, Samael was banished from Heaven and lead by Gabriel to the gates of Heaven where he was to be permanently exiled, all while the malevolent angel mocked him. Right before he was kicked out of Heaven, Gabriel confessed to what he did before slitting Samael's throat and throwing him down out of Heaven and falling into the depths of Hell, where he was consumed by the flames and tortured by the demons who inhabited the unholy realm.
As millennia passed, Samael grew to become extraordinarily resentful towards his brothers, sisters and Father for what they did to him, his hatred growing to burn brighter than the fires of Hell and the bright future ahead for humanity he once stood for. After numerous eons of painful suffering and torture, Samael became consumed by his desire for revenge against Heaven for his unjust banishment and began to transform into a ghastly visage of the justice-bringer he once was, eventually becoming one of the most feared demons in the Underworld; Eclipse.
Long after growing accustomed to his life in Hell, an incident in 2003 would lead to Eclipse being summoned to Earth. At some point in 2003, a mentally unstable ex-employee of Sega who was upset with the company and its staff for his mistreatment was planning to get back at them for letting him go. Using an ancient book, the man went home and prepared his revenge plot, gathering posters and bootleg plushies originating from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and bringing them down to his basement to prepare for his scheme. After drawing a Satanic pentagram on the basement floor and igniting it with his blood, he successfully managed to summon the fallen angel to his position. Listening to the man's begging, Samael took in his desires for revenge, but despite his own vengeful ideals, he was ultimately disgusted by the fact a human was speaking to him and asking for assistance with such a heinous act. However, the man's pleading didn't go entirely unnoticed, and seeing his desire for vengeance, Eclipse realized the opportunity he had to take revenge against God, Heaven and the sinner that betrayed him now that he had been summoned into the real world.
When Eclipse was done deciding and listening to the man's cries, he agreed to help the man, but with a cost. Upon asking what the cost would be, Eclipse, with the simple snap of his fingers, set the man ablaze, watching hi crumble to the floor in a fiery mess until there was nothing but ash and his remaining, floating soul. Now confident in his plan going accordingly due to being in the physical realm, Eclipse absorbed the man's soul and began pondering how to claim more sinners like him, and while thinking about his options, his eyes caught notice of a bootleg Sonic plush in the corner of the basement. With a devious smile, Eclipse possessed the plush, using it as his new vessel he could use to finally continue his goals from when he was an angel: purging the world of sinners, but with the sinister twist of reaping their souls for himself so he could become powerful enough to ascend back to Heaven, set it ablaze and massacre his familial inhabitants, including that of God, his Father.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Demonic/fallen angel/fire physiology: As an incredibly divine being, Eclipse is a powerful fallen angel-turned-demon with the inside of him composed with fire and possesses extraordinary power to the point of being feared by most of Hell's denizens. Only other angels or beings of similarly exceptional power are able to match Eclipse's power.
- Consumption empowerment: Eclipse is able to gain power and slightly increase his size by feeding on certain materials, the ones granting him the most power being fire, soul energy and combustible materials. By doing this, not only do his abilities become stronger, but also more violent.
- Limited essokinesis: By consuming on enough materials, Eclipse is able to obtain small-scale reality-warping abilities, allowing him to slightly manipulate the fabric reality and bend it to his will.
- Cursed blood: As a fallen angel, Eclipse possesses a corrupted, ghastly body, and thus is filled with a type of cursed blood that has unnatural effects on mortals. His blood in question being some kind of corrupted tar that leaks from his body. Coming into contact with his blood has various negative effects on the victim and allows for Eclipse to begin his torture of them.
- Hallucination inducement: Eclipse can cast hallucinations in order to torture his victims psychologically. In this state of the torture, the hallucinations tend to take the form of people, items or other things that relate to the sins committed by the victim. Some people take these hallucinations to be premonitions and have thus nicknamed them "The Visions of the Black Sun".
- Oneirokinesis: Eclipse can lock his victims into being trapped in their dreams, allowing him to manipulate them to suit what torture he decides to inflict on the victim. Similar to his hallucinatory abilities, Eclipse can bend and shape the dreams of his victims to reflect that of the sings they've committed.
- Sleep inducement: Eclipse can induce unconsciousness into his victims in order to get them to start dreaming, which allows him to psychologically torture their minds as they lay fast asleep.
- Tar manipulation: Eclipse can manipulate the blood-like tar his body contains to his will. With it being a cursed type of blood, Eclipse is able to use it to inflict various ill-effects on his victims by pouring it into the mouths and/or noses of his victims, submerging them into an inescapable stasis that Eclipse controls.
- God-like strength: Owing to his status as a powerful angel, Eclipse is a being who is powerful beyond mortal comprehension, equipped with god-like strength that allows him to tear through anything that stands in his way in a split second.
- Immortality: As an angel that has existed since the beginning of the universe, Eclispe is immortal and cannot age at all, being able to exist infinitely and never worry about having to die from old age, natural causes or things that would kill regular mortals. Eclipse is also nearly incapable of dying, with the exception being entities of higher or similar power, such as his fellow angels. While all other forms of damage do nothing to harm him, he is capable of being harmed by angelic weaponry forged in Heaven.
- Limb generation: Eclipse can conjure a long, black skeletal arm from inside his mouth and use it as a highly proficient and deadly short-ranged weapon that can be used to snag souls.
- Soul absorption: Because of his inner arm, Eclipse can use it to capture souls, ripping them from his victims' bodies and absorbing them to gain more power.
- Negative emotion empowerment: Eclipse can feed on the negative emotions of humans in order to become stronger and gain more fear and power over his victims. Anger, confusion, fear and any other negative emotions only further empower him and make him stronger.
- Pocket dimension creation: Eclipse has previously created a pocket dimension that resembles numerous levels shown in the Sonic franchise and uses it as a storage area for treasures and other forms of powers he's discarded.
- Possession: Eclipse can possess inanimate objects and use them as physical vessels to walk the earth, as he did with a bootleg Sonic plushie that he uses as his primary physical form.
- Mégethoskinesis: With a physical vessel, Eclipse can alter his size seemingly endlessly, being able to make his form as tall as twenty feet.
- Shapeshifting: With a physical vessel, Eclipse can shapeshift into a more monstrous, organic form that matches more what Sonic actually looks like, albeit taller and more demonic looking, as well as taking in aspects of his real form, such as the flames inside him and his tar-blood. He can take the shape of his plushie form, a form that looks more like Sonic, a similar form that appears far more demonic and is his default form, and another form known as his "Hellfire" form, which is stronger, more powerful and very tall. Eclipse can also shapeshift into a human disguise, presumably to blend in with humanity.
- Pyrokinesis: Considering his interior body is partially composed of fire, it only makes sense that Eclipse's primary and most well-defined ability is that of being able to manipulate, control, bend and shape fire to his will and use it in various ways. The flames that comprise Eclipse's body and burn inside of him also seems to amplify his pyrokinetic abilities. In his Hellfire form, Eclipse can summon fiery shoes that cover his feet.
- Soul reading: Eclipse can, just by deeply looking at a person with his demonic eyes, get a read on their souls and read certain emotions, mainly their sins, desires and actions they've done.
- Teleportation: Eclipse can instantly teleport himself from one area to another as a form of fast travel.
- Tentacle generation: Eclipse's wings, over time, have undergone a metamorphosis that transformed them into black, tar-like tentacles he can use as prehensile weapons to fight with. Eclipse can also use his tentacles as a form of transportation by growing them to be thin, stretch out and appear more akin to spider legs, allowing him to use them to hold himself up and walk/run using his now spider-like tentacles.
- Video game manipulation: Eclipse can manipulate the fabric of video games in any way he likes, preferably manipulating them into showing a window between the human world and his pocket dimension.
- Consumption empowerment: Eclipse is able to gain power and slightly increase his size by feeding on certain materials, the ones granting him the most power being fire, soul energy and combustible materials. By doing this, not only do his abilities become stronger, but also more violent.
Hellfire form powers[]
- Lava breathing: In his Hellfire form, Eclipse can breath and shoot out pure lava from his mouth, instantly incinerating anyone who comes in his way.
Former powers[]
- Flight: As a former angel, Eclipse used to be able to fly using his angelic wings. After being banished from Heaven and becoming a fallen angel, Eclipse's wings grew to become crooked, damaged and unfit to be used to fly. He's unable to get back to his former glory after his wings went through a metamorphosis and became the black tentacles that are seen sprouting on his back.
Abilities[]
- Intimidation: In a stark contrast to how he was utterly loathed in Heaven, Eclipse's fall from grace and subsequent transformation into one of the most powerful demons ever known to man has allowed him to build up a sizably fearful reputation amongst both mortals and demons alike. His intimidation factor allows him to gain the upper hand against his victims simply by looking and acting intimidating, making them lose the will to fight back against him.
Weaknesses[]
- Angelic weaponry: When Eclipse/Samael was banished from Heaven, Gabriel used a heavenly knife to slit his throat before kicking him into the depths of Hell. It can be figured that the only weaponry capable of harming Eclipse are that of holy weapons forged in Heaven.
- Divine/higher beings: Another example is if Eclipse were to encounter a Sonic character in their hyper form, they would easily overpower and destroy him.
- Hellfire form restrictions: Despite his Hellfire form being remarkably powerful, its main downside is not being able to run as fast as he normally would be able to while in his default and Sonic forms.
- Lack of oxygen: Despite not having a fire-like physiology, Eclipse does have an inner flame within him that requires oxygen to function as all fire does, as well as his pyrokinetic abilities. If there was no oxygen available, the inner flames within him and his pyrokinetic abilities.
- Suffocation: Because a lack of oxygen will cause the fire inside him to die, Eclipse will subsequently start to suffocate, not because he needs oxygen, but the fire inside him does.
- Positive emotions: Eclipse gains more power from negative emotions being displayed to him. However, if one were to show confidence, bravery or other positive emotions in the face of his terror, it would weaken him.
- Willpower: Willpower is the most effective to combat Eclipse's soul snatching abilities, with someone's willpower being stronger than his soul stealing powers is enough to break free from him.
