I... I'm sorry! I beg of you, I'll do anything, I'll even tell you all the secret projects me and Minerva had. You can have everything! Trust me, you won't regret it!
~ Edgar, while pleadging to Isaac Ray Peram Westcott to spare his life; his final spoken words

Edgar F. Carrol is a supporting antagonist featured in Date A RE:Live. He is one of scientists working for Deus.Ex.Machina Industries and is the leader of the Ashcroft Project. He has a cruel personality, who do not choose the means to that end, to come up with the concept of human magical device pairs event dedicated to the body "Ashcroft", and began to develop.

Appearance[]

Edgar is a businessman with a beard and a bald head.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

After Mildred recognizes [Zodiac] as Mukuro, her sister, she realized that she was aiding a company that was hunting down Spirits that were innocent and she might be killed, as she rushed out to get the blob of primordial ooze that would become Mayuri out of DEM's hands, Edgar intervened, claiming that she must die. This forced her to escape without the future Mayuri but not before leaving the "H.E.A.R.T." program and a hidden away note for someone to free her creation.

As Mildred flees, she trapped Edgar and the wizards he was commanding in a blob of foam that was like gum. This nets Ryouko the opportunity to bring her to Ratoskr.

A year before, Edgar tried to entice Miku but refused to accept his advances and left the place. From that on, she never spoke with Edgar again.

After that, Edgar, with the help of his reporters, spread degrading rumors about Miku; the news were so outrageous that Miku1s fans left her one by one. The fake news spread around Japan left Miku mentally broken. In a final attack, he indirecly caused Miku Izayoi to contract a disease that made her lose her voice, as well as her singing career. The attack was enough to drive Miku to suicide once she lost eveything. Edgar is also responsible for making her become a misandrist.

Chapter 9[]

Following the situation with [Marionette], Marina was furious that her readings vanished with Westcott realizing how much of a threat Shido was to his plans. As he asked Ellen to find the image a possible sister Jessica mentioned, Edgar stared at him before smirking and told Minerva that she could "use the exercise" with the woman pleased to see him speak her language.

Chapter 11[]

As Kotori was struggling with the pain she got from Saya Yamada's disembodied soul trying to take over her body, Edgar was at Arubi Island as his phone alerted him to her spacequake since he had the system hacked so only, he can access it and ordered for Minerva to head for Tenguu City and bring him Kotori's Sephira Crystal and her head. Minerva cackles as she flew towards her target.

Chapter 13[]

Following Minerva's defeat, Edgar who had no idea she would betray him to serve her own interest had a nearby table crushed and broke a few fragile objects in fury over a "stupid brat" ruining it all for him, but was still confident he kept Westcott in the dark about his plans.

Or so he thought. Westcott revealed his presence which fueled Edgar with terror, having known he'd try the stunt longer than the bald man had realized and allowed it to occur on purpose and intends to use the data for [Material A] and will now be considering Kotori's presence.

Edgar plead for mercy by offering to give him anything he asked for, but Westcott turned it down as Marina shown him Edgar's secrets as she had the disk drive with all the data he had. Jessica was then summoned by Westcott to torture Edgar.

As Jessica was excited to do this again, she proceeded to stab Edgar in the back before she proceeds to repeatedly strike him with her blade multiple times, leading to him screaming through the halls as he was tortured.

After Edgar was injured to the point he cannot move anymore, Jessica hands her weapon to Westcott who proceeded to raise it high then proceeded to jab it into Edgar as the blade turned black, killing Edgar which left nothing but a crater where his body had been. Marina commented on how brutal his death had been.
