Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler, is a character and villain in the series Gotham. He appears as a minor character in the fanmade fourth season and later returns as one of the secondary antagonists (along with Harvey Dent) of it's bonus episode and feature; Gotham: Return of The Joker. He is one of Gotham's most feared and notorious criminals and is Two-Face's eventual partner in crime.
He is portrayed by Cory Michael Smith.
History[]
Warning Jim Gordon[]
He at first warns Jim Gordon about Penguin's schemes and threatens to kill him if he won't even try to save the city from his enemy's wrath. He then retreats and he is arrested after several years for his crimes and he is put into The Arkham Asylum together with The Joker.
Attempting to destroy The Batman[]
He is later released from prison by Zoe Tremor/Harley Quinn. He teams up with Jeremy and Harvey Dent as the trio plot to kill The Batman and he specifically wants to get his revenge on Bruce for locking him up in prison for a century. He and Two-Face at first create a memory box and start terrorizing the city. They later rampage The Batman's lair and kidnap Selina Kyle and John Gordon aka The Robin as the two henchmen of The Joker put both The Catwoman and Robin into separate glass tanks, as The Riddler is ready to let them fall out to their deaths. Batman however appears and throws a blade onto The Riddler's memory box, thus injuring Nygma and causing him to loose his memories. Batman then saves both Selina and John, and he then goes to defeat The Riddler once again. The Riddler lies injured and weak on the floor and reveals to Bruce that Mr. J. was responsible for the entire scheme against him. However, Jeremy then appears from nowhere and he kills Two-Face, as The Riddler is presumably killed afterwards or arrested for his crimes by the GCPD or even by Batman himself.
