I took away your ranch.
~ Mills, revealing to Sammy that he was never going to return her ranch to her family and instead turned it into an illegal dinosaur facility.
Maybe not for you, but this is my company! I will not let InGen, Biosyn, or any other genetics corporation, stack themselves on top again, not like what happened decades ago. My father founded Mantah Corp back in 1983, a wealthy entrepreneur, but I promised myself that I could do better than him, and now… look at how far we've come. We're going to become the leading power in the genetics industry.
~ Mills, when his COO Daniel Kon tries to talk him down from blackmailing Sammy's family after he proposed it to the Board of Directors.

Eli Mills is the main antagonist of the Mantah-Mills Theory, which states that he is the CEO of Mantah Corp. On top of keeping his status as the main antagonist of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, this theory also paints him as the main antagonist of its TV prequel-spinoff Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, being the unseen overarching antagonist of Seasons 1-3 and the main antagonist of the fan-made Seasons 4-5. Here, he is Sammy Gutierrez's archenemy.

In Fallen Kingdom, he was portrayed by Rafe Spall, like his canon version.

History[]

Mills started out as a low-ranking employee at Mantah Corp in the early 1990s when his father was running the company, whereas he met Benjamin Lockwood and Claire Dearing at a fundraiser where he was hired to be the financial director of his estate, and because he was already a low-ranking employee at Mantah Corp, no one knew about his agenda. He also had a twin brother who got married and had a daughter named Brooklynn, but both were killed in a car accident, after which Mills adopted Brooklynn. However, Mills was extremely neglectful of his niece as he restricted her time with Iris, Lockwood, or the latter's granddaughter Maisie, which led to her having an obsession with gaining online popularity as she didn't want to feel alone.

Sometime in the 2000s, before 2009, Mills was promoted to CEO of Mantah Corp and began living a double life as Lockwood's financial director. He also hired Daniel Kon, Kenji's father, to become the second-in-command of his company, but was unaware that Daniel was never truly loyal to him and was a mole working for Masrani Global.

In 2009, he hired Henry Wu to create the Scorpios rex, the first genetically modified hybrid dinosaur ever created, and intended for it to be sold to military forces with the most money. However, he realized how unstable it was and that no one would want to buy something so unstable, and Wu reported that Masrani rejected his idea to use the Scorpios in the park Jurassic World, so Mills objected at the last minute. At some point, Mills encountered the Gutierrez family in their million-acre ranch in Texas and put them in a loan directly controlled by him and Mantah Corp, noting that they could prove to be very useful later on as they supply beef for Jurassic World.

Mills eventually ordered for Wu to create the Indominus rex, his second hybrid dinosaur to be created. Masrani liked the idea of the I. rex and had Wu put both I. rexes in an enclosure, only for the older one to eat her sibling, which Mills discovered from a spy within Masrani Global and noted that the older one would create more money for him anyway. However, he never completely trusted Wu, as the latter was questioning his impatience because of wanting his money as soon as possible, so he planned for a spy in Wu's laboratory named Eddie to be a potential replacement.

Years later in 2015, Mills found out from his spies that a campground called Camp Cretaceous was completed, so he presented his idea to the board of directors of blackmailing the Gutierrez family that, if they didn't send Sammy to be his spy at Camp Cretaceous to steal Wu's samples, he would take away their money and property. As the board approved of his plan, save for Daniel, Mills did exactly that and carried out his plan, and Sammy obliged to do as he wanted so she can save her family from financial debt. Unbeknownst to her, Mills took away the money and property anyway and spent the money on turning the ranch into an illegal preserve where the dinosaurs would be forced to fight each other to sell them to the highest bidder.

When the Indominus unexpectedly broke free of her enclosure, Mills realized the death and destruction that he potentially caused through selling dinosaurs to morally ambiguous military forces, but he decided that he would do nothing about it and watch what would happen. In his office, Mills giddily watched as hundreds of tourists were killed by the flock of pterosaurs unleashed on the park, as it meant he'd make more money from selling her to his buyers once the carnage is done. However, while Sammy still managed to upload Wu's secrets into Mills' drone, the DNA samples she got from the Sinoceratops were destroyed, Eddie was eventually killed during the fall of Jurassic World, and the Indominus rex died in the jaws of the Mosasaurus.

Because of the previous events, Mantah Corp underwent a financial crisis and Mills felt forced to continue to use Wu in his schemes. Six months later, he sent a team to Isla Nublar to retrieve a bone of the Indominus rex to create a third hybrid: the Indoraptor. Mills also had his team retrieve Wu's laptop so he can make the Indoraptor at a quicker pace and kidnap Brooklynn because she could be a threat to his plans, as she could expose Mantah Corp publicly on her online channel if she makes it out of Isla Nublar via her fellow campers. However, Mills' laptop was destroyed, and Brooklynn got away, so Mills had his team escape with the I. rex bone with plans on capturing Brooklynn and the other campers later on.

By the time the Camp Fam made it to Mantah Corp's private island, they saw the dinosaurs being forced to fight each other under supervision of Mantah Corp's drones, with the dinosaurs that won the fights and survived being sold to the highest bidder. This time, all members of the Camp Fam were captured, and Mills came to the island on a helicopter, sadistically revealing to Sammy that he lied to her about returning the ranch to her family and turned it into an illegal dinosaur preserve and was going to do so even if she had given him the samples.

Eventually, Kon convinced Mills to allow him to bring the Camp Fam to his penthouse by claiming his scientists there are going to experiment on the kids, but Mills' employee Kash D. Langford discovered that Kon was a mole by using a drone staring out into a window where Daniel was digging up information on Mills' secret documents. Soon enough, Mills, after deducing that Kon was able to buy the penthouse on Isla Nublar because of his loyalty to Masrani, led an assault on the penthouse alongside Kash, Hawkes, and Ken Wheatley by unleashing the third Scorpios rex that hatched in Mitch and Tiff's yacht and sending it to kill Daniel, who, though sacrificing his own life for the Camp Fam to escape, it's unknown whether or not he survived. The Camp Fam was reimprisoned on Mantah Corp Island until Autumn 2018 when they were released by Wu and taken to Lockwood Manor.

During this time, Mills sent a team led by Ken Wheatley to "rescue" the dinosaurs from Isla Nublar, and enlisted Claire Dearing and Owen Grady to be a part of it, but since he feared that Owen and Claire could also be a threat to them, he had them left to die on Isla Nublar due to the eruption of Mt. Sibo while the dinosaurs were shipped to Lockwood Manor. The Camp Fam managed to reveal Mills' illegal operations to Benjamin Lockwood with Sammy telling him about what happened to her ranch. Lockwood chided Mills about doing all of this in his own manor and ordered for him to call the police, so Mills smothered him to death with a pillow.

Mills then began to have Gunnar Eversol auction off half of the dinosaurs to his buyers before the Indoraptor was introduced, and Wu told him that the Indoraptor was a prototype and therefore wasn't ready to be sold, but he ignored Wu's complaints and tried to have the hybrid sold anyway. After Owen and Claire stopped the auction, Mills order for the Indoraptor to be taken out of the auction, but Owen dismantled the track. However, Mills remained in the manor as he began to suspect that Wu went behind his back and took the Camp Fam into the manor, so when he was searching for them, he encountered Owen, Claire, and Maisie again. Mills told Claire that Maisie was a genetic clone created by Lockwood to get Claire to give her up, but the Indoraptor killed his guards, so he attempted to escape.

The Camp Fam eventually confronted Mills again, and five of them managed to confront him while Brooklynn, with a new phone that Wu gave her to expose Mills after deciding Mills went too far, was uploading a live stream on her channel exposing Mantah Corp's illegal business activities publicly. Seeing this, Mills furiously tried to kill her, but Bumpy confronted Mills and headbutted him, causing his glasses to fall off. Left with no other choice, Mills ran out of the room while Sammy tried to go after him to get revenge for what happened to her family, but Yasmina comforted her and told her that it wasn't worth it, and that Mills was going to get what he deserved anyway.

Mills attempted to escape the manor with the I. rex sample, but Maisie coincidentally released the dinosaurs because they were getting killed by toxic gas. As his remaining men at the manor were stampeded, Mills hid under the car to avoid certain death. After this, Mills saw the sample and tried to pick it up, but he was quickly devoured by Rexy, who destroyed the sample and mauled off his leg when the Tyrannosaurus rex fought off Toro, who was also captured by Mills' mercenaries. With the Camp Fam calling the authorities on what happened, they found the remains of the sample upon arriving, and Mantah Corp was finally and permanently shut down with their private island being reserved as property for the government.

Trivia[]

  • This theory was ultimately debunked in Season 4 of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous in which it was revealed that Kash D. Langford was the one who blackmailed the Gutierrez family, and that Daniel Kon, Kenji's father, was the head of Mantah Corp.
