Elsa is a character from the "Disney Princess Villain Stories" series of fanfics on Quotev. She is a villainous adaptation of the character from the 2013 animated Disney film Frozen, serving as the main protagonist of her story.
Biography[]
This version of Elsa's story begins similarly to how it did in the Disney version: Elsa was born as a princess to the kingdom of Arendelle. From a young age, Elsa had cryokenetic abilities, a byproduct of her mother's Northuldra heritage. She and her younger sister Anna spent a lot of time together as children until an accident caused Elsa to hurt Anna with her ice. Anna was taken to magical trolls, who helped her but instructed the king and queen to keep Elsa' ice powers a secret from Anna from that point on. They agreed, but also kept the two sisters apart for the rest of their childhoods, with Elsa becoming cold towards Anna and constantly refusing her attempts to go and play.
When the two were adults, the king and queen died while at sea, leading to Elsa being coronated as the new queen. Anna and Elsa briefly reconnected, but when Anna met a handsome prince named Hans at the coronation and asked for Elsa's blessing to be wed, Elsa refused due to how short of time the two had known each other. In a fit of anger, Anna accidentally makes Elsa defend herself with her ice magic, leading to her accidentally freezing the kingdom and fleeing.
While in isolation, Elsa realizes that no matter how much she sacrifices, no one will ever accept her for who she is. Heartbroken and enraged, she returns to Arendelle and finds Hans, who had taken over Arendelle in her absence. Hans is easily defeated due to Elsa's strengthened powers, and he claims he never meant to hurt her, but she instead freezes him alive.
Meanwhile, Anna attempts to go help Elsa, but is unable to find her and returns to Arendelle, dejected. Elsa confronts her in anger, berating her for always "failing her" and says the hurt she apparently caused cannot be healed. Anna pleads with her sister, but Elsa strikes her with a burst of ice, injuring her. She then enters the castle and faces Arendelle's advisors, berating them as well for having insulted her. She freezes them all and destroys the castle, replacing it with a new ice palace.
Anna survives the blast of ice and tries to stop Elsa from continuing down her dark path, but the latter refuses, blaming her for having made her this way. As she grows angrier and angrier, her coldness grows, giving her pale skin, ice-blue eyes, and snow-white hair. Anna remains steadfast in her belief that Elsa can be changed, only to be frozen by her twisted, transformed sister. Anna dies in agony while Elsa merely says it is too late for her.
A long time passes, and Elsa is now the sole ruler of Arendelle, having frozen the kingdom in her anger. She remembers her sister and their childhood, but she, believing love and hope were only lies, causes an icy storm inside her throne room and sits on her throne with a wicked grin.
Personality[]
This version of Elsa started off calm, reserved, regal and - unlike her sister - graceful and poised. Beneath this cool and collected appearance, however, Elsa is quite turbulent; in truth, the Snow Queen was, for a majority of her young life, troubled by her abilities, a feeling which stems from a traumatic incident as a child.
After she fled Arendelle, she is so embittered by the cruel words the people said to her that she falls to darkness, becoming bitter and vengeful. She begins only seeing the bad in people, believing them to only be either against her like Hans, or in her way. She becomes sadistic in the misuse of her abilities, but harbors deep anger and hatred towards Anna in particular, although Anna still loves her in her final moments as Elsa freezes her to death.
