♫Oh, I'm gonna get them, and I'll eat their hearts out. Way scarier than creepy crawlies, I'm their biggest nightmare. Maybe if I eat theirs, mine'll start to feel whole. These men keep rippin' mine apart, so I'll destroy their black hearts. Oh, I'll destroy their black hearts.♫
~ Emily

Emily Merrimack, also known as simply Emily and better known as the Corpse Bride, is a character from MilkyyMelodies' "Alternate Universe Series" songs, appearing as the main protagonist of the song "Eat His Heart Out". She is a villainous adaptation of the character from the 2005 animated film Corpse Bride, being an undead bride that seeks revenge on the men who wronged her, specifically Barkis Bittern and Victor Van Port.

She was voiced by MilkyyMelodies.

Biography[]

Emily Merrimack was the only child of the wealthy Merrimack family. One day, she met the charming Lord Barkis Bittern, and fell in love, with Emily unaware that Lord Barkis was a golddigger and serial womanizer who flirted with other women. He and Emily wanted to marry, but her father declined and forbade it.

Barkis convinced Emily to elope, having her bring some of the family jewels and a satchel of gold. He instructed her to meet him at the graveyard. A happy Emily agreed, wearing her mother's wedding dress and bringing the riches along. However, once there, she waited a long time before Barkis arrived, where he proceeded to stab her with a knife and steal her riches.

Emily was left lying bleeding out on the ground. She cried out to Barkis, but the last thing she saw was him smiling as he disappeared into the darkness. Emily died, and her body traveled to the underworld where it was greeted and befriended by the other deceased of the land. However, Emily vowed that if anyone ever came and asked for her hand in marriage, she would be freed and brought back to life.

Years later, a man named Victor Van Dort was wandering in the graveyard practicing his wedding vows. He inadvertently placed the wedding ring on Emily's skeleton finger, releasing her. Emily is at first thrilled that someone seemingly proposed to her, but soon learns it was an accident and Victor's heart belonged to his fiancée Victoria Everglot. However, after a misunderstanding, Victor believes that Victoria has abandoned him, and agrees to take his own life to officially be Emily's husband. Emily is happy, but suspicious. As they travel to the surface to marry, Victor sees Victoria at the wedding and calls it off, choosing to be with her once more.

Emily is heartbroken, and can no longer contain her anger and sadness. She decides that the two men are the source of all her woes, and finally decides to take bloody revenge. She rises from the grave as a crazed zombie, finds Lord Barkis, and murders him before cannibalizing his heart. She then seeks out Victor. He tries to defend Victoria and pleads with Emily for mercy, but she kills him and eats his heart as well. When a grieving Victoria finds them, Emily just flashes a sadistic smile at her.

Personality[]

In life, Emily was naïve and trusting, which led to her demise. In death, Emily is cautious and suspicious of everyone, though holds out hope for her happiness to come. However, once this optimism is dashed and she is seemingly betrayed again, she loses control and becomes wrathful, violent, and sadistic, all while carrying her heartbreak and sadness.
