Emily Silverton is a major character in the Gacha Life fanfiction, Intervention. She was the third member of the popular girls along with Amanda Pilger and Grace Bishop, she was also one of the 15 victims of the 2004 Jackson High shooting by Scott Parker and Hunter Lantz.
Biography[]
Before the shooting[]
Emily was born into a rich family who believed in Christianity. During high school, Emily was a part of the popular girls clique alongside Amanda Pilger and Grace Bishop who along with the jocks took pleasure in bullying Scott Parker and Hunter Lantz. However, she was the was the only member of both cliques that treated Scott and Hunter with respect and took pity on them. She was also dating fellow jock, Courtney Thompson, had a part-time job as an assistant veterinarian at the local animal hospital, was a part of the school's drama club along with Hunter and was a part of the school's volleyball team as its captain.
She started to develop feeling for Scott as she was his tutoring partner for a short while, she tried several times to talk to him but she got shy or something came up. After the Christmas choir concert she decided to confess her love to Scott via email but not knowing that he had gotten drunk earlier he would cruelly reject her. In tears and not knowing what to do she went to the jocks to beat them up on the second day back from winter break. And the leader of the jocks, Hayden Willis, Courtney, Jake Addams and Leon Lucas came together to beat up Scott and Hunter. However, this caused the two boys to change their prank to a deadly attack on the school that they were planning for sometime.
The Shooting[]
On the late morning of June 15, 2004, Emily was doing homework in the school cafeteria while others were having lunch. After finishing her homework, she saw two boys in black trench coats wearing sunglasses, face masks and beanies planting two large duffle bags in the center table. She thought something was off about them, but didn't think much of it. A few minutes, she and the other students heard gunshots and thought it was a senior prank going on until a teacher, Valerie Phillips ran to the cafeteria, got up one of the tables and said “Everybody, listen up. There have been two students killed and five others injured. We think there's something inside shooting, so please go out and find a room to hide until the police come.” and every student, Phillips and Emily ran out the cafeteria unaware of the duffle bag filled with propane bombs and several other explosives that failed to detonate.
At first, Emily though someone came into the school and start shooting, as she didn't think students or teachers at the school would shoot at people. She ran into the girls' bathroom to hide, but then heard the sounds of pipe bombs being thrown and peep out to see what was going on. She saw two male students, one wearing a black trench coat and red jacket with a backpack caring a shotgun and another one with a black Atlanta Braves hat, wearing a white t-shirt and caring a shotgun and a submachine gun running out of a classroom. Though she could not, she then clearly she thought the one in the trench coat looked familiar and she ran out to the upstairs library in the third floor where 88 other students were hiding, she hid under a table where Courtney was hiding.
After a few minutes she hear someone yell "SHOW YOURSELVES!" followed by another person yelling "Everyone in this goddamn library, get up! NOW!” it was then we she thought it was people she knew, students. She then heard “Fine, you all asked for it!” followed by shots. During this period she and Courtney heard the sounds of gunshots and their peers getting killed and injured. Then after a while, she heard the sound of pipe bomb exploding and someone yelling “Shut the fuck up, you scared shit-for-brains assholes! You all and this school are fucking goners!”
Death[]

After this, she saw someone with a shotgun shooting and injuring people and saw that it was Scott. She crawl out and said softly "Scott? Is that you?" Scott then smiled and sat on a chair he then called Hunter, by "Condor" who came and shot Courtney with shots from his TEC-9 and two fatal shots from shotgun, killing him. He then yelled "WEAK!" after killing him. Emily started crying in despair, she then said, "No guys, please don't kill me. I'm sorry." Scott asked her if she believed in god, When she said yes, he asked why. She replied it's what she believed, what her parents believed and raised her to believe. Scott just chuckled and said god was gayer than Satan. He then lied saying "Listen, Emily. I know we just killed your boyfriend and all. I'll make you a deal we spare your life in exchange you won't rat us out to the police. Got that?" Emily nodded and crawled back to the table. Scott then did a head gesture at Hunter to kill her and he shot her with his TEC-9 and before killing her, he yelled "If you like god so much... then go be with him!" and finished her off with two shotgun blasts to the back. However, she lived long enough to see the boys commit suicide and bled out to death.
Her body, Scott and Hunter's bodies and the other bodies in the library weren't found by police until three and a half hours later.
Trivia[]
- Emily is a fictionalized homage to three victims of the Columbine High School massacre. Those being: Valeen Schnurr, Lauren Townsend and somewhat John Savage. She mostly shares similarities to Townsend as both worked part-time at animal hospitals, had a love for traveling and were a part of their school's volleyball teams as their captains.
- Emily's also one of four other victims of the shooting (not including Scott and Hunter) who were set to graduate at the end of the school year, the other students were: Charles Franklin, Courtney Thompson and Peter Ryan.
