Steven Canan, also known as Saevus Caedis and later Emperor Saevus Caedis is the ultimate form of the psychotic supervillain Saevus Caedis who gained cosmic powers from the sadistic entity Niklovich in order to wreak havoc on the multiverse. However he would later betray Niklovich and used an artifact to steal his powers which in turn, made him a powerful reality warper with near infinite power which he uses to create more chaos across the entire planet Earth to his enjoyment.
He is the main antagonist of Chaos Overload, and the arch-enemy of Edward Martins. The design and idea of this version of the character was made by BrandonDarkOne47 and the character of Saevus Caedis was originally made and owned by TheAverageDimentio (formerly known as Your Not So Average Guy).

This version of Saevus Caedis after gaining all of Niklovich's godlike powers is dressed in royal clothing to make himself look like a king. He wears a golden crown with three red jewels which are the very artifacts he found and used to steal all of Niklovich's powers for his own gain, he also replaces his gas mask with that the Prime Omega masks wore by many Prime Omegas such as Nekrozoth. His skin becomes completely red resembling Niklovich's skin tone, and have develops sharp elf like ears and dark red eyes resembling blood. Underneath his mask is a wide green of malice and insanity with yellow sharp fangs, and wears white gloves.

Saevus like his original incarnation is a sadistic evil terrorist who hardly cares for absolutely anyone other than his own joy for causing pain and suffering onto others. While insane in the first place, but when he gain cosmic powers from the equally sadistic Niklovich he become much more psychotic and sadistic and used his powers to perform more twisted torture onto others. He would use his powers to commit more atrocities onto his own planet Earth: from forcing arch-enemy, Edward Martins, into reliving his nightmare of his own daughter dying in front of him: Using a magic elixir that he use to drive an entire town insane by poisoning their water supplies: And reducing the world into a wasteland where he rules as a god where he kill and torture on a whim. All of which are for his own entertainment, showing no limits to his endless cruelty.
After stealing Niklovich's powers, he soon develops an immense ego and pride similar to Niklovich's and becomes a manchild who treats his new found powers as a toy and abuses everyone around him for very minor reasons out of his sheer pettiness. He still retain his immoral philosophy on human evil, and with his new found powers he believes he could finally do whatever he pleases with no cares for the consequences. He develops a god complex as well as a sense of arrogance with his abilities, thinking he cannot be stop and is all powerful, yet he doesn't realize that taking Niklovich's powers also allow him to even take his weaknesses as well. Ironically, taking Niklovich's powers also made him develop some of his personality as well (the reason for this is never explained however but it was hinted that it could be another result from the powerful jewels).
He is also highly intelligent, manipulative yet treacherous, as he manages to construct a crown with gems he stole that is capable of stealing a cosmic being's power and outsmarted Niklovich by stealing his powers. He also manage to manipulate Niklovich and used his own ego, arrogance and childish behavior against him, which lead him to gain his powers and become a self-proclaimed god. He is completely aware of his evil, and fully takes pride in his evil acts and reputation, he also finds the thought of redeeming himself insulting as he thinks it'll ruin his "evil world record" and shows no chance at redemption. He went so far to claim he became ten times worse than Niklovich and now seeks to surpass Nekrozoth himself if he ever gets the chance too.

Saevus was a psychotic terrorist who murdered his father, murdered and torture numerous individuals and more importantly drove the former police officer Edward Martins insane by murdering his daughter after brutally torturing her. He was sent to prison but was then released by his own followers and continued his criminal activities, but he was soon killed off and was sent to Hell. However, Niklovich, the crawling chaos and son of Nekrozoth, was overseeing all of the horrific crimes and took a liking to his deprave nature. He personally went to Hell to find the soul of Saevus Caedis and resurrected him in his own realm of chaos.
Saevus awoken unsure on why he was resurrected, and saw the demonic Niklovich right before his eyes. Niklovich informed him that he was interested in Saevus and claimed to have respects for his horrific legacy he left on his homeworld. He offered Saevus dark powers, such as chaos magic and a position in his Carnage Circle group as he thinks he'll be a good member in the group. Saevus question Niklovich if he would actually give him power to destroy anyone and anything, Niklovich tells him that he could destroy more than just the world, Saevus accepted the offer and becomes a demonic being with an unquenchable desire for chaos.
Stealing Niklovich's powers and reign of terror[]

Niklovich leads his Carnage Circle including Caedis to a Prime Alpha vault to steal a three powerful sacred jewels capable of stealing the powers of other powerful beings giving them to the user, reducing the former into a mere mortal (but also steal their weaknesses as a result). They invaded the vaults and slaughtered numerous Prime Alpha guards there, Caedis personally skinned and tortured one of them slowly for kicks but Niklovich told him to hurry up before the Champions arrived. However the Champions, Legend, Jack Spark, Ben Diablo, and Akuma, arrived and battled the Carnage Circle, Caedis avoided the fight in favor of getting the cosmic jewels while Niklovich was busy battling Legend who would later overpowered by the Alpha of Light and was forced to retreat. Caedis secretly hid the jewels and never told Niklovich, as he plan to use it against him and usurp him as the leader of the Carnage Circle. He teleport to OmegaCorp on another dimension and met William Braxxon, a corrupt businessman who is also the Biblical Cain, as he learn he has some Prime Omega weaponry and technology there which he would use to construct a device to harness the powers of the jewels. William, despite being aware of Caedis's intentions, didn't care and allowed him to use whatever device was necessary. Caedis created a crown which he used to put the jewels in, later on he returns to Niklovich and used the crown to steal all of Niklovich's powers (and unknowingly he's weaknesses) and became much more powerful than before. He also stole the powers of the other members of the Carnage Circle to become more powerful.
With his newfound powers, he rename himself as "Emperor Caedis" and claimed himself a god of chaos who will reshape the world in his image. As Niklovich was reduced to a mortal, Caedis imprisons him inside his own castle as he wanted him to witness him in surpassing him in sheer evilness and cruelty. To test out his new powers, he poisoned the water supply of a nearby town on another planet which later caused them to go insane and kill each other, the town burned and people screamed much to his delight. He went off to destroy a few planets to see how powerful he is and showed delight in the destruction he was causing. He later returns to his home dimension to get his revenge on Edward Martins, once he finally met him he decided to taunt him first. He would appear to him as if he was a ghost born or illusion Edward would constantly see, taunting him for his past failures and how he butchered his daughter only to later to reveal to be alive later on to torture him. He imprisons Edward in a psychological prison for him to mentally torture him by showing him constantly killing his daughter in the most horrific way possible just to see him snap. However Edward was resilient so he grew bored, and decided to imprison him with Niklovich inside the Castle's torture chamber instead.
He used his godlike powers to summon demons from Hell to reduce his world into a wasteland where he rules as a god where he kill and torture on a whim, he also used his own followers from the past as his own personal secret police after transforming them into chaotic demons to wreak terror onto the people while he dines in blood and food made of his victim's corpses. While he was distracted with the chaos he was bringing onto the world, Niklovich and Edwards manages to escape from their prison and leave to hide from the insane Caedis. Niklovich used a device to try and contact his allies, but they never responded to his transmission. Niklovich begrudgingly called the Champions for help which they responded however they did not trust Niklovich due to his past actions but when they learned of the atrocities Caedis was causing, Niklovich, Edward Martins, and the Champions were forced to work together in stopping him (Niklovich only sought to stop him due to betraying him and trying to steal his style). When they encounter Saevus, Saevus revealed his new plan in reducing most of the multiverse into a wasteland for him to rule which terrified Niklovich as he was planning to rule it not destroy it. The Champions attempt to battle him, but they were no match for his powers and teleported to a fiery pit to endlessly fend off some demons. Saevus personally tortured Edward and Legend, killing them in the most sadistic ways possible while Niklovich flees.
Defeat[]
Niklovich saves the other Champions by using a device to teleport them out of the pit, and reveals a way for them on how to beat him as he knows the flaws with the jewels. Caedis appears behind Niklovich and devoured him, which would later transform him into a Niklovich-Saevus Caedis hybrid monstrosity. The Champions gathered some weapons by the Prime Alphas and forced Caedis to face them, Caedis used his reality warping powers to summon the sun in an attempt to destroy them and the planet. However this would later be his downfall as he wasn't aware that daylight was one of Niklovich's weakness, the Champions used the Prime Alpha weapons to defeat Caedis and destroys the crown and the jewel along with it which gave Niklovich (after being brought back to life) and his powers back and undid the damage Caedis has done on his planet. Niklovich took Caedis to his castle where he would personally torture him for his betrayal against him, but he tells the champions that it doesn't change things one bit and vanishes with Caedis.

- The concept of this version of Saevus Caedis is directly inspired from Emperor Joker and Kefka Palazzo.
- This is by far the most powerful version of Saevus Caedis, as well as one of the most chaotic and evil.
- BrandonDarkOne47 claims if Caedis ever became part of the Multiversal Legends canon and Tales of the Omniverse, then the story of Emperor Caedis would probably become canonized and part of the ML mythos (if the other writers agree on the idea).
