For eons I have invoked fear into trillions. And I think I understand why. You know who I am. You know what I represent. The truth. You know deep down that this...this is all wrong. When I was young, the strong took what they wanted, and the weak were cleansed. My father believed that all life was worth protecting. My children share that notion. Like you, they have been hoodwinked by the lies of the Order Gods. Peace and laws are not enforced to protect the weaklings. They were enforced to keep the truly exceptional in line. And so I gladly rebelled. I slaughtered Ouranos and fed upon his cadaver. I sat in his throne with his blood and meat still hanging from my face. With my beloved Rhea at my side, and with my fellow Chaos Gods ready to support me, I believed I was prepared for any potential rebellion. But then, I paid the price for my hubris and complacency. My throne was taken from me, but in exchange, I took more power than ever before. Power that the Order Gods are too cowardly to even think of. The feckless hypocrites are destined to fail. Order is temporary. Chaos came before it, and it is always here. Ubiquitous. Omnipresent. Chaos is like a shadow, always with you. I AM Chaos. I am power. I...am...the...truth.

Evil-Doer

He comes....
~ A warning of Zalgo's return.
Please spare me the self-righteous, goody two shoes bullshit. Haven't you ever wondered why there are rules in the first place? All these....restrictions. Keeping us back. "No, you can't kill someone just because they made you angry." You're starving to death and have no money? Sorry, but it looks like you're out of luck. You live in squalor and would just love to live in that nice, comfortable mansion? Of course, there are ways to bypass the rules. You can play by their rules and obtain success, but take down anyone who gets in your way. Or you can say, fuck the rules and anyone who obeys them. There's only one thing rule that truly matters, and you know what it is? What you can do, and what you cannot. Strength or weakness. The weak follow a strict code that is designed to cause them strife, but the strong aren't so spineless. We see a chance for pleasure, and we take it. We see a chance for pain, and we take it. Pain and pleasure are one. Embrace them both, and you shall be free. Forget the lies that you've been taught. Walk with me, and become your true self. An angel, or a demon. It's your choice. But never forget who showed you the way. Yeah...I can tell. We're going to have fun together. "chuckles"
~ Zalgo expressing his manipulative, hedonistic, and socially Darwinistic qualities.

Emperor Zalgo is the main antagonist of The Gray Chronicles by Cash Lannister and Torn-Flesh. He is the god and master of the Cenobites, the supreme ruler of the Chaos gods, and an insane warlord obsessed with destroying the Order gods, purging the Macroverse of the weak, and have only the strong survive. Zalgo is the archenemy of Odin, Ash Williams, Roland Deschain, and Slender Man. He is the overarching antagonist of Go to Sleep: The Origin of Jefferson Gray and The Rise of Acolyte.

He is voiced by CashLannister.

Early Life[]

Zalgo was born 66 million years ago to Gaea and Ouranos, the Avatar of Earth and the Avatar of the Sky. He was a Titan, like his older brothers Oceanus, Koios, Krios, Hyperion and Iapetus, and his younger sisters Theia, Themis, Tethys, Phoebe, Mnemosyne, and Rhea. Zalgo was the boy’s birthname, but Ouranos foresaw that a being with the name “Zalgo” would cause nothing but strife and chaos. Wanting to preserve order and to protect their son, Gaea and Ouranos renamed him Kronos, the Titan of Time.

Kronos was an ambitious young Titan who displayed three features that would stick with him for his entire life: extremely high intelligence, endless patience, and an overwhelming lust for power and victory. Kronos’ megalomania extended to simple matters, such as wrestling matches with his siblings. He would use dirty tactics to win, which led to his siblings calling him “The Crooked One”, an alias he was proud of from the start. Kronos was a bully to his siblings, particularly Oceanus and Themis. He did, however, have a loving relationship with his siblings as a whole, and he was particularly close to Iapetus and Rhea. Kronos was also extremely close to his mother, and learned to appreciate the beauty of life from her. He also shared Gaea’s cunning, patient nature. Kronos and his father loved each other, but he was jealous that his brother, Oceanus, was next in line to be king of the Greek gods. He also disagreed with both of his parents when it came to warfare, as Ouranos and Gaea wanted to make peace with their enemies while Kronos simply wanted to “reduce them to flesh”. His cruel nature brought great concern to his parents. Due to all of the Order gods living in harmony regardless of pantheon, Kronos became close friends with the young Norse god of wisdom, Odin. They both respected each other for their intelligence, prowess in combat, and courage. Over their youth, Kronos and Odin would train together, talk about the ways they wanted to make the Macroverse better, and give each other advice. Despite the close bond between the two friends, even Odin was disturbed by Kronos’ cruel attitude towards their enemies. When Odin suggested that he show their enemies mercy, that was the only time Kronos politely but firmly ignored his advice.

Taking the Throne[]

One day, Ouranos and Gaea had six more children, the one-eyed Cyclopes and the Hundred-Handed Ones. However, Ouranos at this point had become obsessed with preserving order at any cost, and came to see any and all monsters as agents of chaos, even if they were benevolent monsters like his children. Despite Gaea’s pleas, Ouranos threw their sons into the pits of Tartarus, which he solemnly declared to be his duty. This caused Gaea great grief, and Kronos from then on hated his father with every fiber of his being. At that moment, Kronos wrestled with three emotions. He felt sadness for his brothers, thrown into Tartarus to be imprisoned and tortured all for the sake of order. He felt hatred for his father, the deep love Kronos once had for Ouranos disappearing entirely. He felt pain at seeing his mother weep over his brothers. As Kronos brooded, he had an epiphany: he had to kill Ouranos. Not only would he avenge his brothers and appease his mother, but his father’s throne would belong to him. Despite his faith in his plan and might, knew that one Titan wasn’t powerful enough to kill an Avatar. The Titan of Time then proposed his plan to his siblings, and promised that once assumed the throne, he would reward them for their loyalty. Rhea and Oceanus refused to partake in the coup. Kronos mocked Oceanus and called him a coward, but he was much more forgiving of Rhea and told her, “Just as well.” With that, Kronos, Iapetus, Hyperion, Krios, Koios, Phoebe, Mnemosyne, Tethys, Themis, and Theia walked to their parents’ palace, where they saw Ouranos and Gaea sitting in their opulent thrones. Kronos then challenged Ouranos to a one on one battle. Whoever lost would be thrown into Tartarus, and whoever won would earn the right to the throne.

After a furious battle between father and son, Ouranos leapt towards Kronos, his icy sword aimed directly toward his son’s leg. Quicker than Ouranos could process, Kronos swung his scythe up towards his father, neatly cutting off his arms and legs in one swing. As Ouranos begged for Kronos to show mercy, The Titan of Time proceeded to eat his father. The Avatar of the Sky screamed in agony and horror as Kronos consumed his physical body. As Ouranos’ soul was sent to the Afterworld, the afterlife for gods, Kronos knew he had won. The Titan of Time sat on his father’s throne and declared himself the Emperor of the Greek Pantheon. To his surprise, Gaea was heartbroken by the death of her husband. Wanting to punish her son, Gaea issued a prophecy: as Kronos had overthrown his father, so would his child overthrow him. With that, she went into a deep slumber within her crust. Kronos, in his arrogance, scoffed at the prophecy of his mother, declaring it was a trick. Shortly after this, Kronos married his sister Rhea, who then became Empress. They had a loving marriage, and it was said that Rhea was the only one who made Kronos smile kindly rather than cruelly. He deeply respected Rhea and showered her with gifts. Kronos was also very suspicious of his brothers, and subtly threatened them with torture if they dared to make a move on Rhea. Rhea, in turn, forgave Kronos for killing their father, and always saw the best in him.
Kronos fulfilled his promise to his brothers and sisters and made them each rule a corner of Earth. Hyperion and Theia ruled the East, Iapetus and Mnemosyne ruled the West, Koios and Phoebe ruled the North, and Krios and Themis ruled the South. Oceanus and Tethys ruled the sea together as husband and wife.
Kronos’ first act was to attempt to free his brothers from Tartarus. Just as he was about to pull his Cyclopes brother Brontes out of the Pit, he was suddenly grabbed by the god Tartarus himself. Chuckling sadistically and sarcastically offering his sympathies to Kronos, the Avatar of Evil grabbed the Cyclopes back screaming into his realm, much to Kronos’ anger. From then on, Kronos issued a decree. Creatures who originated in Tartarus were in two classes: slaves or prisoners. Out of spite, Kronos made the torture and slavery of monsters into a festivity, reveling in the suffering of gentle and ferocious creatures alike. He also enjoyed feasting upon the monsters while they were still alive and conscious.

Father of the New Gods[]

Eventually, Kronos and his siblings had children. He took a special interest in the children of his brother Iapetus and sister Mnemosyne. Their oldest son, Atlas, would become the Titan of Endurance, and was groomed by Kronos into being his general. Their youngest son, Epimetheus, was a kind but foolish boy, the Titan of Animals. He was always getting into trouble, and Kronos took it upon himself to help his nephew whenever he could. The middle son, Prometheus, was the Titan of Forethought, who served as the guardian and one of the creators of humanity. While Prometheus deeply loved humanity and zealously watched over his creations, the majority of the Titans were indifferent to them. Kronos, however, took a great interest in humanity, convinced that they would serve his Empire well one day.

Rhea gave birth to their first child, their daughter Hestia, who would become the goddess of the hearth and family. Kronos held his daughter in his arms and gazed on her lovingly, smiling as she touched his beard. However, Kronos sensed that Hestia possessed power that would eventually rival his. He remembered the warning that his mother gave him: just as he had overthrown his father Ouranos, Kronos’ child would overthrow him. While Kronos still didn’t believe the prophecy to be true, he refused to take chances. Deeply regretful, Kronos unhinged his jaws as wide as he could, and proceeded to swallow Hestia. Rhea screamed in horror and grief as their daughter plummeted into Kronos’ stomach. After Kronos explained the prophecy that Gaea issued, he convinced Rhea to give him another chance, promising that he wouldn’t do it again.

Rhea then gave birth to their second child, their son Hades, who would become the god of the Underworld and wealth. Kronos loved Hades as he had loved Rhea, and smiled at his son as he held him. Hades was a solemn baby, but he cooed softly and showed affection for his father. Just like Hestia, however, Hades had the same raw power. Kronos shed a single tear for his son as he unhinged his jaw once again and, even though the deed pained him now more than ever before, swallowed Hades whole. From this point on, Kronos promised himself to show no emotion when his children were presented to him. He ordered Rhea to present him with any children they had, ominously stating that he would do as he pleased with them.

Out of hope that she could appeal to his better nature, Rhea presented Kronos with their third child, their daughter Demeter, who would become the goddess of agriculture. Kronos sensed the power within her, and swallowed Demeter whole.

Kronos was presented with their fourth child, their son Poseidon, who would become the god of the sea. Kronos not only sensed his raw power, but also his unpredictable nature, like the sea he would rule. Kronos swallowed Poseidon whole.

Kronos was presented with their fifth child, their daughter Aphrodite, who would become the goddess of love. She was by far the most beautiful of all of their children, and she giggled lovingly at both of her parents. To Rhea’s pleasant surprise, Kronos hesitated for a moment, studying their daughter intently. However, once again Kronos’ selfishness overcame his love for his children and his wife. Sighing softly, Kronos swallowed Aphrodite too.

One day, a drunken Kronos took the form of a horse and had sex with Rhea, who kept the form of a human. Eventually, he was presented with their sixth child, their son Chiron, the first centaur who would become the god of heroes and the teacher of every great hero. While Kronos was fascinated with Chiron and thought that perhaps he could be a useful ally. At that moment, it clicked. Kronos would still swallow his children, but then he would release them at the proper moment. In a safe place where they would never escape his grasp, under his watchful eye at all times. Kronos then swallowed Chiron as well, developing his plan as his son fell into his stomach.

Kronos was presented with their seventh child, their daughter Hera, who would become the goddess of marriage. This time valuing her power instead of fearing it, and further formulating his plan for his children, Kronos swallowed her too.

At last, it was time for Kronos to be presented with their eight and final child, their son Zeus, who would become the god of the sky. After giving birth to Zeus in Crete, Rhea returned to the palace with the boy and handed him to his father, wrapped tightly in a blue blanket. Kronos, however, was increasingly suspicious of his wife, and held the bundle. He knew at once that Rhea was actually presenting him with a rock, but he proceeded to swallow the rock all the same. Kronos did so to make Rhea think he was tricked, but at the same time, he called upon an old friend of his. Kronos summoned Loki, the Norse god of mischief and half-brother of Odin, and instructed him to look for Zeus. In return, Kronos would supply Odin with 1,000,000 soldiers to give the Aesir the advantage over the Jotuns once Ragnarok came.

Immediately after Kronos swallowed the rock, Rhea collapsed in shock and went into labor. Kronos, confused and intrigued, held tightly onto his wife and tried his best to sooth her by massaging her shoulders. Kronos watched his wife give birth to four abominations. The first of them was their son, Nyarlathotep, who would become an Outer god of chaos. The second was their daughter Mavros, also known as the Darkness, who would become the Outer goddess of darkness. The third was their daughter Skjule, also known as the Nameless Mist, who would become the Outer goddess of trickery. The fourth and final was Cthulhu, who would become the Outer god of insanity. Kronos looked upon his monstrous children with curiosity and prepared to swallow them as well, but all of a sudden they vanished. Kronos, stunned, tasked another friend of his, Erzulie Ge-Rouge, the Voodoo goddess of revenge, with searching for his monstrous children.

Training the Great Old Ones[]

2 years after the birth of the Outer gods, Erzulie Ge-Rouge reported to Kronos and told him that she found the children on a distant planet called Vhoorl. Kronos told Rhea that he intended to travel there, and she would come with him. Eventually, they arrived at the ocean planet their other four children were lost on. They were accosted by the feral natives of the planet, but Kronos and Rhea killed all of them with ease. The Emperor and Empress descended towards the depths of the planet, into the sunken city of R’lyeh, an unholy broken city made from the bones of slaughtered sea-creatures and radiating with darkness. Mesmerized by the power of this city, Kronos strode into the hall, scythe in hand. He saw his infant children with fascination. Suddenly, Rhea and Kronos were both swung aside. A sea dragon emerged from the depths, roaring in anger. This was the guardian of the sunken city of R’lyeh, determined to keep the intruders out. Kronos attempted to use his time powers to rapidly age the beast, to no avail as it was too fast. Rhea tried to smother it with sand and strangle it with dark matter, but the beast was too durable. As the Emperor and Empress prepared to attack it again, the sea-dragon had a shocked look on its’ face. Its eyes widened, its pupils dilated, it’s sclera became bloodshot, and its mouth dropped open in terror. The sea-dragon frothed at the mouth as it was slowly driven mad, its eyes glazed over as it shrieked in terror. Rhea looked on with horror and pity, while Kronos grinned at the creature’s pain. He turned around, and to his amazement, he saw Cthulhu glaring hatefully at the sea-dragon, his blue eyes glowing with power, blue light poisoning and burning the sea-dragon’s very mind. At this moment, Kronos realized the potential that his monstrous children possessed. If the youngest of them, Cthulhu, possessed such raw power, his might combined with that of his three siblings would make Kronos’s Empire more powerful than ever before. At that moment, Kronos decided to go through with his plan. He instructed his soldiers the Telkhines to train Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Skjule, and Mavros. Eventually, Kronos would send Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Chiron, Aphrodite, Hera, and Zeus there too, but only once the training of his four favorite children was complete. Kronos bluntly told the Telkhines that if any harm came to his children, he would cause the extinction of their species. Terrified into submission, the Telkhines commenced with training the Outer gods. Kronos watched with glee as Cthulhu honed his powers by driving several of his teachers insane. Nyarlathotep would use his influence over chaos to bring death and destruction to Vhoorl, and laughed at the screams of his victims. Skjule would become a clever and manipulative Machevallian, who would do anything to outshine her siblings, and was delighted whenever they fell for her tricks. She would also warp the minds of the Vhoorlians, making once honest people into liars and destroying the bonds of loved ones for her amusement. Mavros relished in the fear of mortals, and jokingly remarked on how good it is to smother them in darkness, filling them with despair. Kronos grew immensely proud of the Outer gods and declared them worthy of taking his throne once the time came. Rhea, while still deeply loving her children unconditionally, was increasingly disturbed by how they closely identified with Kronos’s ideologies. She would show her children compassion and empathy, and while all four of them deeply loved their mother, their father’s influence over them was too powerful. Rhea promised herself then and there that if she couldn’t save these four, she could at least save Zeus and the children in Kronos’s stomach.

The War of the Gods[]

10 years after the death of Ouranos, Kronos had a meeting with his brothers and sisters in his palace. He heard reports from Loki and Erzulie Ge-Rouge that the training of the Outer gods was complete. Very pleased by this news, Kronos informed his siblings that the next phase in his plan was for him to disgorge his seven other children and begin their training on Vhoorl as well, where the Outer gods would be their mentors. Before he could leave, Kronos was greeted by his niece Metis, the Titaness of Planning and the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys, kneeled before him, presenting him with a golden eagle with shining blue eyes. Metis told her uncle that the eagle was her tribute to him. However, Kronos easily saw through her deception, and with an amused chuckle, asked her if she honestly thought she could fool him. Kronos then turned on Rhea and asked her the very same question, shocking her by casually telling her that he knew all along that their final child was never swallowed by him, nor was he on Vhoorl. At that moment, the eagle changed shape, revealing itself to be Zeus, who flung himself at his father. Kronos laughed and easily overwhelmed Zeus, and held him towards his mouth, promising that he would join his siblings. Quicker than Kronos could react, Zeus threw a small plant down the Titan Emperor’s throat, which at first only amused Kronos, but then he felt his stomach lurch. One by one, Kronos vomited, releasing Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Aphrodite, Chiron, and Hera from his stomach at last. They stood by Zeus, Rhea, and Metis, all of whom glared at Kronos with hatred. Utterly infuriated by his plan being ruined and at allowing his son to trick him, Kronos sent his remaining brothers and sisters after them, with orders to capture them and send them to Vhoorl. Zeus declared war on Kronos, promising to destroy his father and take his place on the throne.

Shortly after escaping their father, Zeus and his siblings freed the Cyclopes and Hundred-Handed-Ones from Tartarus by killing their jailer, the monstrous Kampe, daughter of Tartarus. In gratitude, they provided each of Kronos and Rhea’s children with godly weapons to help them channel their phenomenal power. With these tools, the young gods were able to rival the Titans. While he was impressed by their fighting prowess and cunning, as well as grateful to them for freeing his brothers, Kronos had another trick up his sleeve. He then summoned Nyarlathotep, Mavros, Skjule, and Cthulhu to Earth, and commanded his four loyal children to cause as much death and destruction as possible. Out of all of the gods, Cthulhu brought the most outright suffering to Earth, gleefully driving thousands of humans insane before he killed them, and he and his siblings proved to be more than a match for the Olympians. Despite facing such terrible foes, the Olympians were not deterred, and kept zealously rebelling against their father.

Losing the Throne[]

Ten years later, Kronos summoned his brothers, sisters, and the Outer gods to the arena, as well as his army of demons. Rushing at them in a wave were the Olympians. Waves from Poseidon’s trident crashed into the shadow demons, and engaged Cthulhu in combat, who in turn summoned tsunamis to tear cities and trees asunder. Hades extended waves of terror towards his enemies thanks to his helm of darkness. Hades traveled through the shadows, killing demons by the score with his staff, and finally he challenged Mavros and Skjule. The dark gods engaged in a fierce duel, smothering each other in darkness. Skjule utilized her power of illusions and confusion in an attempt to overpower Hades, to no avail. The illusions only affected him for a short time. In seconds, Hades engaged the sisters again, more calm and ferocious than ever before. Hestia took on Nyarlathotep, remaining unfazed by the Crawling Chaos’s sadistic promise to feast upon the dead flesh of her and the rest of the Olympians. As Nyarlathotep attacked with Eldritch tendrils, Hestia casually retaliated with her fire, burning so hot that for once in his life, Nyarlathotep respected his foe. Hera pummeled Tethys with gusts of air, and Tethys attempted to engulf her with her water powers. Hera over came her aunt’s strength and defeated her. Demeter dueled with Krios and Koios, her golden scythe, sharp as her father’s, sliced easily against their swords, barely missing her uncles’ heads. Chiron dueled Atlas and Iapetus, gracefully dodging their spears and catching them off guard by using his bow and his sword simultaneously. Atlas was stronger than the centaur god, but slow. Iapetus was faster than either of them, but Chiron still proved to be a match for both Titans. Hyperion blasted fire at Aphrodite, expecting her to burn to ash. However, Aphrodite benefited from his underestimation of her. She used her agility and power over telekinesis to attack him. Finally, Zeus confronted Kronos, summoning his lightning bolts to his hands, attacking his father. Kronos grinned with excitement, and delightedly congratulated him for his strength. Father and son engaged in a brutal battle, Zeus hurling lightning bolts and Kronos deflecting it with fire and his scythe. Kronos used his unrivaled power over time to slow down Zeus and increase his own speed. Zeus blasted Kronos point blank in the chest and face, disorienting his father. Taking the chance, Zeus proceeded to punch the Titan Emperor in the face with all his might. However, Kronos chuckled, and even encouraged Zeus to hit him harder. For a moment, Zeus hesitated. Taking advantage of his son’s flicker of compassion, Kronos blasted him with fire. Kronos stood over Zeus and mocked him over his failure, how he was pathetic for falling for the lies of the Order gods. As Kronos raised his scythe to dismember Zeus, the God of the Sky summoned a wave of lightning as large as Mount Orthrys, and blasted his father. Kronos was flung into the air, and Zeus flew to meet him. Growling that he would pay the price for sowing the seeds of Chaos, Zeus slammed Kronos into the ground. Kronos rose up, bleeding and broken. Enraged and impressed by his son’s power, Kronos rushed at Zeus, scythe on fire, ready to strike. Unfortunately for him, Zeus was in better shape. He blasted the exhausted Titan Emperor again, grabbed his scythe from him and drove it into Kronos’s chest. Kronos’ eyes widened in shock, and then he looked at Zeus with hatred. Kronos spitefully declared that Zeus was no son of his, and Zeus regretfully stated he wished that were so. With that, Zeus threw Kronos into the sky, and watched as Kronos was dragged into a massive green portal, the fallen Titan Emperor hysterically cursing, promising to feast upon the flesh of Zeus, as well as his sons and daughters. After that, Zeus declared himself King of the Greek gods, and ordered Iapetus, Hyperion, Koios, Krios, Phoebe, Tethys, and Mnemosyne to be thrown in Tartarus. Atlas was forced to hold up the sky for all eternity on Mount Orthrys. Cthulhu was imprisoned in the deepest, darkest part of Earth’s sea by the Avatar of the Sea, Pontus. Skjule and Mavros were imprisoned in the void Ginnungagap by Odin at Zeus’ request, and Nyarlathotep was imprisoned in the Duat by Osiris and Isis, also at Zeus’ request.

The Rebirth of Zalgo[]

Kronos was sent to the dimension of Hell, the prison for wicked gods of Chaos like him. Kronos noted that several of the caged gods were Surt, the king of the Fire Jotunns, Bakulu, the Haiti Voodoo Loa of vengeance, Baal, the Canaanite god of war and destruction, Dagon, the Mesopotamian god of fertility, and Chernabog, the Slavic god of darkness. Every Chaos god, with the exception of Loki, Erzulie Ge-Rouge, and Apophis, the Egyptian god of chaos, was trapped in the capital city of Hell, Nezperdia. Ruling over this dimension was Am Daeghar, the Avatar of Order and twin sister of Kronos. She ordered Kronos to enter a cage, but Kronos defiantly spat on the ground. He then proceeded to attack Am Daeghar with his fire power, and Am Daehgar in turn fought back with her water powers. They battled scythe against water sword ferociously, each sibling scoring blows on the other. Am Daeghar taunted Kronos by telling him that Odin allowed Mavros and Skjule to be imprisoned in Ginnungagap, Kronos was dumbfounded. At first he refused to believe that a man he trusted and loved like a brother would imprison his daughters. However, the more Kronos considered it, he begrudgingly realized that Am Daehgar was not lying. In a fit of rage, Kronos viciously swung his scythe at Am Daehgar, declaring that he would taste Odin’s flesh and blood, as well as hers.

She summoned her swords made of water, and sliced at Kronos, but Kronos generated a scythe made of fire, and proceeded to overwhelm his sister. Finally, Kronos flung his scythe across Am Daeghar’s waist, bisecting her. Kronos watched with a mixture of grief and glee as the life faded from his sister’s eyes and her soul left Nezperdia. Losing what was left of his sanity, Kronos consumed the flesh and blood of the Avatar. All of a sudden, Kronos began to change. By killing and devouring two Avatars, Kronos became one himself. He grew to colossal size, and his body became nigh-indestructible. However, Kronos realized that this “stronger” body was just a vessel. His true form was something beyond anyone’s comprehension. At this moment, Kronos remembered the name his mother wanted to give him at birth, before his father insisted they give him a new one. At that moment, Kronos renounced the name his father gave him, and declared himself to be Zalgo, the Avatar of Chaos. He then turned to the imprisoned Chaos gods and offered them a deal. Together, they would have vengeance upon the Order gods and purge the Macroverse of weakness. In return, Zalgo would be their Emperor, the unquestioned ruler of the Chaos gods. While Surt was visibly seethed at the idea of being subservient to a Greek entity, he begrudgingly agreed, as did the rest of the Chaos gods. With that, Zalgo took over the dimension of Hell and freed his fellow Chaos gods, telling them that their work would take eons to complete, but in the end the Macroverse would be stained with the blood of the Order gods.

However, Zalgo realized that while the rest of the Chaos gods could leave Hell he could not even leave his palace in Nezperdia. After a moment of confusion, Zalgo realized that it must have been a consequence for his murder of Am Daeghar. Despite this, Zalgo could send an avatar to interact with the rest of the Macroverse while his true body stayed trapped in the realm he now ruled with an iron fist. Zalgo used his magic to create the key to his freedom: a small, indestructible puzzle box, the Lamentation Configuration box. Whoever solved this box would be sent to Hell, where Zalgo would claim their souls. In return he would grant them great power, and they would work diligently to free their master. Projecting part of his essence onto Earth, Zalgo left the Lamentation Configuration box on his mother's planet. After that, Zalgo returned to Nezperdia, patiently waiting for the Box to be discovered, watching Earth closely.

Pulling the Strings in Hell[]

Centuries after he took over Hell, Zalgo watched Lucifer fall from Heaven, banished for trying to usurp his Father, God. Amused that one of his grandfather’s children actually had the nerve to challenge Him, Zalgo followed Lucifer as he fell into Hell. Speaking to the Morningstar from the shadows, Zalgo voiced his sympathy. He told Lucifer it was such a tragedy that a beautiful, godly being like him be treated so cruelly. Zalgo told Lucifer that he need not be jealous of God, for God was even more envious of him. Lucifer smugly replied that he should be, for he is the one perfect being. Lucifer added that he knew what Zalgo was trying to do, and he declared that he served no one. Zalgo smoothly corrected Lucifer that he was intending to be his mentor, not his master. Taking on a fatherly tone, Zalgo told Lucifer that if he chose to join the Chaos gods, he would experience power beyond his wildest dreams. Tempted by the prospect, Lucifer agreed. He then commenced with setting up his kingdom in Hell. He met the first demon, Lilith, and in time they had their children Ranco, Avara, Lasc, Droganto, Seducre, Mulra, and Famesiti, who would rule the Wrath, Greed, Sloth, Pride, Lust, Envy, and Gluttony rings of Hell. By the time the Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ, Lilith Morningstar gave birth to Damien Thorn, the son of Lucifer and the Anti-Christ, the most powerful child of the Devil. Zalgo smiled to himself as he watched Hell thrive, noting that his plan is in motion.

Personality and traits[]

Zalgo was once my closest friend. I loved him like a brother, and I could trust him like my own brother. He always had my back, and I had his. But as the centuries went on, the good Titan, the good man who was Kronos died. Zalgo is hatred personified. He hates Zeus for imprisoning him in Nezperdia and his siblings in Tartarus. He hates his father for causing his mother pain. He hates Osiris for locking his son in the Duat. I believe he hates me for locking his daughters in Ginunngagap. I regret everything I have done to hurt Zalgo, we all regret it, and I wish I could take it back. But Zalgo doesn’t forget, and he doesn’t forgive. Truth be told, I don’t think he ever has forgiven anybody. I don’t think he knows how. Even when we were young, I could tell how angry he was with his enemies. He relished in their suffering, and in the suffering of those who would hurt his family. He used to love his father deeply, but the minute he threw the Cyclopses and Hundred Handed Ones into Tartarus, Zalgo…butchered and ate his father as if he was an animal. Zalgo doesn’t know forgiveness, and he doesn’t know mercy. He only knows vengeance and hate.
~ Odin sadly describing Zalgo to the Virgin Mary.

Zalgo often presents himself as a smooth-talking, charming, and sophisticated entity. He is wise and cunning, and often comes across as a crime lord while discussing his plans or making deals with allies and enemies alike. However, at his core, Zalgo is a cruel, twisted, manipulative, deranged, angry entity full of hate and obsessed with revenge against the Order gods, especially Odin and Zeus. Zalgo has shown his vengeful side ever since he was a Titan, as he brutally killed and ate his own father out of both revenge and a hunger for power. Once he became Emperor, Zalgo declared that any creatures born in Tartarus, innocent or otherwise, will be tortured and killed "for sport", showing his hatred clouded his sense of mercy.

Zalgo also shows signs of hypocrisy. He hated his father for throwing his brothers the Cyclopes and Hundred Handed Ones into Tartarus, and yet he had no problem with swallowing seven of his children to keep them from taking his throne. He also mocked and hated Zeus for "betraying his father", ignoring the fact that Zalgo gladly murdered his own father and swallowed his children and put his other four children, the Outer gods, through training that was at times brutal and horrifying. This suggests that Zalgo is either narcissistic, hypocritical, is completely delusional, or all of the above.

He is extremely intelligent and patient. The minute Chiron was born, Zalgo realized that his children would be more useful as pawns and allies. However, Zalgo saw more potential in his monstrous children Nyarlathotep, Cthulhu, Skjule, and Mavros than the Olympians, which is why he had them trained on the planet Vhoorl. He’s also able to easily recognize his opponents strengths and weaknesses and use both of them to his advantage. Zalgo is also not easily fooled, as he knew right away that the rock he swallowed was not Zeus, but due to his tricky and manipulative nature, he pretended to be fooled to lure Rhea into a false sense of security.

A pathological liar and a Machevellian, Zalgo whispered into Lucifer’s ears, telling him that he had the potential to be far greater than his Father, that he deserved to rule in Heaven. Zalgo knew exactly how to appeal to his allies. He took advantage of Lucifer's thirst for power and envy of his Father, Erzulie Ge-Rouge and Bakulu's desire for revenge against the other pantheons for wronging them and their fellow Loa, Surt's hatred for the Aesir and Vanir, and Apophis' hate for life itself. Zalgo used his charisma to make the rest of the Chaos gods loyal to him, although not all of them are content with his rule. Surt in particular has always challenged him, but Zalgo amuses himself by providing an example of how much more powerful he is than the Fire Jotuun. Indeed, Zalgo is by far the most powerful Chaos god of all, and this has made him highly arrogant. He treats the rest of the Chaos gods with respect, but he makes it clear that he is the one in charge. The only one he truly treats as an equal is Lucifer, most likely because of their hatred for their respective fathers and the lengths they went to to obtain power.

One of Zalgo's most defining characteristics is that he is extremely sadistic to the point where he laughs while fighting and killing, and he outright stated that the screams of his victims are like "sweet, soothing music" to him. He enjoys eating his enemies alive, and he makes sure that they stay awake until they finally die, saying that their terror and pain makes his meal even better. Zalgo's sadism is so extreme that even the slightest wound he inflicts on his victims makes him grin with delight. He also enjoys his own pain, chuckling with delight as Zeus strikes him with lightning. Zalgo also enjoys taunting people over their shortcomings and inner turmoil, and he's amused and pleased when his enemies are angry to the point where they attack him. When Jeff the Killer furiously engaged Zalgo in combat, even impaling him with his sword and biting him in the throat, Zalgo smugly laughed at the hatred Jeff felt for him, and even encouraged Jeff to fight harder.

Zalgo has possessed his victims several times, either driving them insane, killing them, or leaving them with trauma. Zalgo reflects on his torture of countless people, innocent or otherwise, and proudly said he enjoyed every minute of it.

A socially Darwinistic person, one reason Zalgo has a seething hatred for the Order gods is because they try to protect the weak. To Zalgo, the weak are a "cancer slowly killing the Macroverse". He sees anyone who isn't mentally, physically, or magically strong as completely worthless and not deserving of life. Zalgo said that once he breaks free from Nezperdia, "strong shall be restored to their rightful place, and the weak shall die in the everlasting fires of chaos".

Despite this, Zalgo does have some redeemable traits. Zalgo is, for the most part, an extremely honorable entity. If he makes a deal with someone, he always holds up his end of the deal, even if it doesn't benefit him. Zalgo also treats his subjects in Nezperdia with respect, seeing them as truly exceptional and strong. Zalgo also honestly loves his mother Gaea, as she is the only being he unconditionally loves and would do anything for, even if it ends up causing more trouble for him. He loves his brothers and sisters, and was more than happy to give them control over portions of the world. Zalgo once deeply loved his father Ouranos, and even though he killed him out of revenge and a desire for power, it's subtly implied that Zalgo is very remorseful for killing his own father. When Cthulhu once asked him what happened to his grandfather, Zalgo sternly told him to be silent and sorrowfully stared at the sky.

Even though they are enemies now, Zalgo does not hate Odin, and the feeling is mutual. While definitely angry at Odin for "betraying him" and imprisoning Mavros and Skjule in Nezperdia, Zalgo knows that it was at Zeus' request, and that Odin took no pleasure in the act. Therefore, Zalgo directs all of his hatred towards Zeus, while still treating Odin with respect and even affection. Zalgo and Odin genuinely consider themselves to still be friends and care deeply for each other, and the two gods are trying to change the ways of the other. Zalgo is trying to corrupt Odin and make him embrace chaos, while Odin is trying to convince Zalgo to redeem himself and forgive Zeus.

Zalgo deeply loved his sister-wife Rhea, treating her with total respect and affection and never once losing his patience with her. Even after being locked in Nezperdia, Zalgo never stopped loving Rhea, referring to her as his "beloved empress" and still calls her "my wife". Zalgo also loves all of his children, and genuinely felt remorse for swallowing the the Olympians aside from Zeus. He grew particularly close to the Outer Gods, his favorites being Nyarlathotep and Mavros. Nyarlathotep, Mavros, Skjule and Cthulhu being imprisoned is the main reason Zalgo despises the Order gods, and he promised to free his children and inflict every single ounce of pain he suffered onto his enemies, especially Zeus and Am Daehgar.

Unlike HABIT who childishly plays with his victims before killing them and has a petulant attitude, Zalgo is very mature. He is usually quite calm and quiet, but when he is angry, he is a sight to behold. Highly intimidating, Zalgo has struck fear into even Set, who is perhaps the most feared of the Egyptian gods. All of the Cenobites and his Army of the Evil Dead are terrified of him, and most, if not all, of the Chaos gods fear him as well. The Order gods see him as their greatest enemy and are horrified by his cruel actions, and even Slender Man is slightly intimidated by him.

Zalgo, does, however, have a sarcastic, dark, very vulgar and sadistic sense of humor. He even occasionally uses slang or affectionate terms, such as calling some of his allies and enemies "kiddo". Ash mocks Zalgo for this, calling him a "creepy demonic grandpa". Zalgo is genuinely friendly and affable to the people around him and values good manners, much like his spy master, Hannibal Lecter.

Zalgo smokes marijuana on an hourly basis. His fondness for it is so great that even as a Titan, he decreed that cannabis was one of his sacred plants. His Cenobites still honor him by having a smoke while praying to him or committing crimes in his name.

He is a nihilistic entity. As a child, Zalgo learned to value life from his mother, but as he grew older and became angrier with the rules of the Order gods, Zalgo became apathetic to the lives of mortals and even his fellow gods, having little to no care if his soldiers or the other Chaos gods were to perish. Zalgo doesn't even value his own life, nor does he fear death. Even before becoming an Avatar, Kronos had no fear of death, as his only emotions when Zeus stabbed him were only shock and anger at being defeated. Zalgo eagerly engages gods just as powerful as him in combat, well aware that they could hurt or even kill him. In addition to his indifference and apathy towards life, Zalgo is amused by the concept of law or rules. He even said that he was a fool for wanting to rule the Macroverse when he was young, questioning what the point in subjecting all of existence to his will. Zalgo stated the idea of ruling all universes was "a completely pointless and boring waste of time", suggesting Zalgo is more interested in conquering and destroying rather than ruling. He is, technically, the true ruler of Nezperdia, but he has his Cenobite Lords like Pinhead to lead his armies or rule his dimension, as Zalgo prefers to operate in the shadows and be worshipped as a god by the people of Nezperdia. Zalgo is the leader of the Chaos gods, but he only leads them during times of war. He expresses dominance to them through a mixture of brute strength and cunning, defeating and humiliating any of his challengers with ease.

Zalgo is, surprisingly, a lover of art. He enjoys collecting exquisite sculptures, paintings and drawings from the Renaissance period and Ancient Greece, listens to music, and he watches plays and even movies and television in his spare time. Zalgo also enjoys reading novels and poetry, with his favorite book being The Art of War by Sun Tzu.

Zalgo couldn't care less who dies because of his desire for revenge, and actually relishes the fact that every time he kills a god, he throws the Macroverse further into chaos, taking time to admire the carnage he's caused before continuing his bloodthirsty rampage. This shows that despite his honorable and even sympathetic qualities, Zalgo is ultimately a destructive madman who is likely incapable of redemption, and completely refuses to let go of his hate.

Quotes[]

""My name is Zalgo. I am the Emperor of the Nezperdian Empire. For eons, I have ruled over this entire galaxy. What was once a prison for wicked gods is now a haven for them. I sit on my obsidian throne, and my children, Nyarlathotep, The Darkness and the Mist, sit at my side, groomed to succeed me. Nezperdia is a reflection of my own mind. All of my greatest ambitions become take shape, and all of my irratations briefly come to life, only to fade, screaming, back into the sweet embrace of death. Ohh, death...that is the ultimate pleasure. I shall deliver death unto all of my enemies. The Order gods have tyrannized me ever since I was a child. I struck back when I was young, and I killed my father Ouranos. The blustering, pompous reprobate had the nerve to throw my brothers the Cyclopes and Hundred Handed Ones into Tartarus, causing my beloved mother Gaea so much pain. After my body was destroyed, my worthless son Zeus corrupted my children, and convinced the All-Father to imprison my brothers and sisters in Ginnungagap. All for the sake of keeping their precious peace. Well, enjoy it while you can, Odin. I am coming. I bring all the might of the Chaos gods with me. I shall free my brothers and sisters from their hellish confinements, and I shall bring them home. I shall take you with me, Odin. The Nezperdian galaxy is the most cursed realm of them all, you say? I'm delighted to tell you, all of the stories about it are true. The seas on my planets are made of my very blood. The stars contain the fire in my soul, illuminating the black void of space. This is a galaxy where pain and pleasure are one and the same. I have known this since birth, as do my people, the Nezperdians. My gift was given to them first, but it is strong in all of my followers. They fear nothing except for my wrath. They are warriors, conquerors, the perfect specimen of mortal. Millions have died at their hands, and I have rewarded them for each victory. My empire, in short, is this. We are explorers in the furthest regions of experience. Demons to some, angels to others. But above all, we are Chaos. We are confusion and anarchy. We are everywhere, hiding in plain sight. I am the one behind the wall, and they shall break me free. Since humanity crawled out of the muck, I have been there, whispering in your ear. Only the strongest of you listened to me. Join me, and you shall be rewarded. Anything you want in life shall be yours. Wealth, intimacy, power, joy, adulation, cunning, all of these things shall be yours. But in return you must give me your soul. I shall only set you free and grant you your wish once our deal is complete. Rest assured, your reward is inevitable. This bargain has been proposed to gods and mortals, and only a few brave souls have agreed. My Cenobites, my Army of the Evil Dead, so many more. Their wildest dreams are fulfilled, and in return for my generosity, they diligently work to free me from this prison that I am confined to. The Order gods have become complacent. The mortals are unaware. And there is nothing that the guardians can do to stop me. I am coming, and I bring the tools to build a new Macroverse. The key to my revenge. I have gained strength from the chaos that flows through the Macroverse. The wars, the atrocities, the plagues, all of them were my doing. I fed upon the anarchy, and I have weakened the Wall. It is only a matter of time before the Wall is obliterated. It is only a time until I have my revenge. I have dreamed of nothing else for years. I have many names. Zalgo. Kronos. Satan. Baphomet. Leviathan. Isfet. Esu. Z'algototh. Amatsu-Mikaboshi.Vritra. Juracan. Ragnarok. Sobo. Xolotl. Azathoth. I claim them all, for they are me. Only I had the cunning and strength to invade every pantheon of gods and plant the seeds of chaos and war in their lands. My name is the most cursed of all, and the most feared. Immortals and mortals alike are blessed with power. But I AM power. Power creates, and it destroys. There is power in life, and power in death. Power is eternal."

-Zalgo.

"Come, my friend. Take my hand. It doesn't matter which one, there's four to choose from. You'll give me your soul, and I'll give you what you want--no. I'll give you what you need. Trust me. Oh, come on...don't be shy. Everything's gonna be just fine. All you need to do is put your faith in me. Do as I wish, and your wildest dreams will become realities. And once your work is done, your soul will be yours again, and yours alone. Do we have a deal?"

-Zalgo offering a deal to someone.

"Attaboy/Attagirl. "

-Zalgo pleased when someone accepts his deal.

"My Cenobites will tear your soul apart. And I'll feast upon what's left of it."

-Zalgo threatening a terrified victim.

"Pleasure and pain are one and the same. I've known that since I was a babe. Perhaps you'd like to see things from my perspective? Hehhehhehhehheh...."

-Zalgo sadistically initiating a new Cenobite.

"Zalgo: How does it make you feel, Grandfather? To know that I was more of a father to Lucifer than you ever were?

DEED: You fooled Lucifer, Zalgo. I was always honest with him, I loved him. You only saw him as a tool for your vengeance!

Zalgo: Aww, that's where you're wrong, Grandfather. I only enlightened the Morningstar. "he bursts into a fit of psychotic laughter and then just as quickly regains his composure" I opened his eyes. He shouldn't have to deal with the dogma of the Order gods. You've done nothing but poison the Macroverse. I could count off of one hand and that STILL wouldn't number the weaklings that plague us.

DEED: 'Weaklings that plague us?' Those are innocent people you're talking about, Zalgo. Innocent men, women, and children. They have value, do you not understand that?

Zalgo: They have as much value as a flea. The mutants and the sorcerers have worth. They are truly powerful, truly exceptional. The rest of them, well...I guess you could say they had a good run. But it's over."

-Zalgo antagonizing his grandfather DEED, also known as God.

"Smoke weed every day? Why not every hour?"

-Zalgo joking as he is smoking from his marijuana pipe.

"Oh, dear. I do hope your family is fine with a closed casket."

-Zalgo as he disembowels Kvasir.

"Logan: In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, leave! The power of Christ compels you!

Zalgo: Son, I admire your bravery, but that won't work.

Logan: What's wrong, Zalgo? Fear of God?

Zalgo: No. I've met Grandfather, he's impressive, I'll grant you. Worthy of respect. But it is adorable that anybody would be afraid of him. DEED has always been too forgiving. Well, aside from damning sinners to Hell, but a father has to punish their children, right?

Logan: Yeah, you son of a bitch. I had a feeling you'd approve of that.

Zalgo: Oh, please. Are you really referring to what I did to my children? For the record, I was going to release them! And really, the Olympians are the only ones who complained. I raised the Great Old Ones myself, and they turned out great. Perhaps I could have treated the Olympians a tad better, however.

Logan: Get out of my fucking city, Zalgo. Leave my home and go back to the pit you crawled out of!

Zalgo: This is a lovely city, Logan. Why wouldn't I want to stay awhile longer? And truth be told, this is nothing personal. All I'm doing is continuing my work.

Logan: Nothing personal? I've done my research on you, Zalgo.

Zalgo: I'm flattered.

Logan: I know all of this is personal. All those wars, all that death, it was just because you're so fucking pissed off at your son Zeus, isn't it--

"Zalgo furiously grows larger in size, his body wreathed in flame. A horrific roar comes from all nine mouths, and Logan stands tall, even as Zalgo burns down the building around him"

Zalgo: HE IS NOT MY SON!"

-Zalgo furiously disowning Zeus out of hatred, and attacking Logan Ehrmantraut.

"Zalgo: This is no time to be complacent, kiddo. Or to garner unwanted attention. Those followers of yours stuck out like a sore thumb.

Cthulhu: I am not responsible for my cult's folly, Father.

Zalgo: Oh? But you're the one who gives them their orders. They commune with you and receive guidance, do they not? Tell the truth, Son.

Cthulhu: You are right, Father.

Zalgo: 'sighs in frustration' Your sister would have done a better job at keeping a low profile. Tell me, who saw you?

Cthulhu: Sailors and scholars. Their names were Gustaf Johannsen, Briden, Henry Anthony Wilcox, John Legrasse, William Webb, and Francis Wayland Thurston.

Zalgo: What then?

Cthulhu: I killed them all, except for Thurston. But he knew too much. So I tasked my cultists. I told them to sacrifice him on my alter. They succeeded.

Zalgo: 'grins sadistically' Did he suffer?

Cthulhu: I am the lord of suffering, Father. The moment he looked upon me, it was already agony. Thurston would have died within minutes, but I knew just how to prolong it. I made sure he stayed aware of it all. Every ounce of suffering. He felt his mind turn to ash, and insanity took him for the remainder of his life. He had the same fate as all the others.

Zalgo: Well done. "

-Zalgo conversing with Cthulhu.

"How egotistical they are. The vast majority of them are so convinced that they are all that exists in one universe. I'm not sure if the ignorance is amusing or pathetic. What an interesting species. A good portion of them is worthless, no better than your average Svartalf or Shebti. However, there are some that are so admirable. Those mutants have power unlike any other mortal. Such a wide array of power. Young Carrie is already an example of humanity's potential. A potential that can only be reached by mutants. Anyone lesser than that...has no purpose."

-Zalgo showing his Darwinistic and nihilistic viewpoint while contemplating the worth of humanity.

"Oh, Carrie, my child. It was never Jesus watching you from the wall. It was me."

-Zalgo as he turns Carrie into a Cenobite.

"Use your hatred, Jason. Take your revenge. Remember what they did to your mother. What they did to you. No, don't show mercy. Mercy is a privilege, one that the weak do not deserve. So...get to it. Take your vengeance. You've been a weakling your whole life, Jason. Make yourself strong."

-Zalgo goading Jason into continuing his killing spree in Camp Crystal Lake.

"Child....this won't last forever. My freedom is inevitable. I have the power to reshape the Macroverse. It will be pure. But you won't be here to see it."

-Zalgo taunting Buddha.

"You were right, Francis. They rightfully cower before your might, but what they owe you is awe. You are a god, and all of these normal people are insects. Toys. To do with as you wish. You are The Red Dragon, and you shall ascend to full glory. But in order to do that, you must give me your soul. Allow me to tear your soul apart, so I can repair it and perfect it."

-Zalgo corrupting Francis Dolarhyde, better known as The Red Dragon.

"Only the strong can survive. You see, there's a very specific food-chain. A totem pole, if you will. At the top, there's me. Then there are the rest of the gods, then the demigods, then the mutants and sorcerers, then angels and demons, then the spirits and cryptids, and then at the very bottom there are the ordinary. The unexceptional and worthless. They are the weak, preventing the strong from reaching their full potential, holding us back. The only only rung on the ladder that doesn't work quite right, the weakest link in an otherwise strong chain. But then again, perhaps it doesn't matter what's in your blood. When faced with the inevitablity of death or, Fates forbid, Ragnarok, all that matters is who's left after the fall. That alone determines who is strong and who is weak. Oh, I get it. You want to prevent Ragnarok by any means? Yeah. I hate to break it to you, but you should never try to prevent prophecies. They always come true one way or another. 'Twas foretold that my piece of shit son would damn my soul and steal my throne, and here we are. It was foretold that Jesus Christ would be tortured and killed for the good of humanity, he would die a martyr and ascend to Heaven. Lo and behold, it happened. I was there, and watched my dear friend Lucifer get to work, laying the foundation for his brother's grim fate. I watched as the Messiah was crucified, bleeding and broken. A shame, he was a pleasant and wise young man. But still, there was no escaping it. Just as there's no escaping Ragnarok. Try as you might, it's always the same in the end. These prophecies were written the moment DEED and his fellow Avatars created the Macroverse. They are set in stone. Enjoy your peace while it lasts. Just know that I am coming. No matter how long it takes. I'm patient. Time is always on my side, because I am Time. And no matter what, I make fools of you all. The Wall weakens, and eventually it will break. In time, the Wall will burn. In time, everything....will burn."

-Zalgo swearing that his victory is inevitable.

"Zalgo: You know what you have to do.

Evan: Who the fuck are you? How am I still alive?

Zalgo: I saved your life. You're welcome. Your friend Vinny, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky.

Evan: Vinny...he tried to kill me! It all started because of HABIT. That fucking sick piece of shit, the things he did! The things he...made me do.

Zalgo: I've heard what Mankind's Bad HABIT did. Flagg was right, the brutality was remarkable. But tell me, kiddo, what exactly did that tumor do to you? I've only heard bits and pieces, you see.

Evan: We summoned the fucker because we wanted answers about Slender Man.

Zalgo: Ah. Doesn't everyone?

Evan: He killed my friend Jeff. He fucking tortured him to death and set him on fire. He used Shaun as bait for Slender Man. He made me and Vinny fight, he possessed me and....Stephanie...oh, God, Stephanie...my baby...."Evan breaks down sobbing, covering his face in his hands" I didn't mean to! It wasn't me, he used my body! But I still remember my baby's bones against my teeth, my hands around Stephanie's throat! I can't get it out of my fucking head! I can't take it anymore!

Zalgo: There is a way to end this pain, Evan. Trust me. Submit to me.

Evan: Oh, you...you pieces of shit are all the same. Slender Man, HABIT. Who are you, anyway? And why should I trust you?

Zalgo: I have so many names. Satan. Azathoth. He Who Waits Behind the Wall. But my true name is Zalgo. I am the most powerful being in the Macroverse, and I'm always happy to lend a helping hand. If need be. I sympathize, son, I do. I know what it's like to have someone you love ripped away from you. To be at the mercy of someone stronger than you.

Evan: You do? What did you do?

Zalgo: I abandoned my weakness. I kill anyone who stands in my way. I embrace my hatred, and I feed it. Hate, in simple terms, is good. Hate keeps you strong. Love must be cherished, of course. Who wouldn't cherish something so precious? Something that makes you strong and wise. But when faced with your enemies, the key to victory and survival is focusing on your hate. Turning it into your strength. Mercy will not help you, child, it will only make you vulnerable. So, tell me. Do you want to forgive HABIT for what he did, or do you want to take action?

Evan: I would sooner hand myself over to Slender Man before I forgave that son of a bitch. HABIT is a fucking monster.

Zalgo: Yeah, he is. But compared to me he's about as dangerous as a gerbil. Evan, I give you my word. HABIT will die screaming, and you shall be reunited with your wife and child. You'll never know suffering ever again. If you want, I can hand HABIT over to you. Make him your toy, to do with as you wish. He can never die, but that just makes it better, right? Inflict every pain, every humiliation, every violation possible upon HABIT until he begs for death. But refuse to grant his wish. I have the key to your revenge, Evan. You can have it, but in return you must give your soul to me. I will be your master for all time, but in exchange for your loyalty, you'll be rewarded. Stephanie will be alive. Your daughter will be alive. And HABIT's pain will never end.

Evan: I...will join you. "kneels as the Lamentation Configuration Box materializes" My lord.

Zalgo: Attaboy."

=Zalgo manipulating and collecting the soul of Evan Jennings.

"I beheld an unholy behemoth. An abomination that is neither god nor Titan. A being that radiates evil, a being that delights in destruction. His skeleton is blackened from hellfire and ash. His skin is made from blood of fallen gods and goddesses. His eyes are empty, soulless sockets of black flame, dripping black blood. His two left arms hold a Candle Whose Light is Shadow His two right legs drip venom and snatch screaming children from their beds. His two right arms are stained with the blood of Am Daehgar His two left legs hold a dead star. His eight mouths speak in different tongues, And the ninth shall sing the song that ends the Macroverse. Zalgo. He Comes."

-A passage about Zalgo in the Necronomicon.

"No. I'm sorry, old friend, but it's not possible. That kid I used to be? He's dead. You follow me? I am the man I was always meant to be. I cherish our time together, Odin, and I admire your faith, but nothing can stop me. I must walk this path. What kind of father would I be if I didn't?"

-Zalgo sadly refusing to accept Odin's offer of redemption and making peace.

"Zeus: Stay back!

Zalgo: *snarls and has a look of utter hate in his eyes* You. *he glares at Zeus, who glares back and readies his lightning bolts while Zalgo chuckles angrily* I've waited such a long time for this moment, boy. I spent thousands of years waiting for this moment, to see the terror in your eyes. You wanted to take my place on the throne? You think that you could have run this world so much better than your dear old dad? Think you can compare to the All-Father or Mother Earth herself?*chuckles* I always knew you were arrogant, Zeus, but I never took you to be a fucking idiot.

Zeus: The centuries have made you bitter, Father, and they have made YOU arrogant. You're speaking to me through a puppet. You're still trapped behind the Wall, and you always will be! You've caused far too much chaos while imprisoned as it is.

Zalgo: *laughs heartily* Typhon gave you quite a beating, huh? Of course, he failed me in the end, but I guess that's what I get for sending a monster to do a god's job. Credit where it's due, he...humiliated you. He defeated you. He scared you, didn't he, boy? Yeah. He did. So hard when you don't have Mommy to hide behind, huh, boy?

Zeus: *strikes Zalgo in the chest with lightning, which only makes Zalgo stumble backward and grin before swinging his fiery scythes at Zeus* Shut up! You're one to talk about being scared. You're a coward who swallowed his own children so they wouldn't take his power and kill him!

Zalgo: Such a fool I was to want to hold on to my throne. As are you. Ruling is for the weak. Conquering is a DEMONSTRATION OF STRENGTH! *Zalgo blasts Zeus with fire, lightning, and darkness, father and son striking blows. Suddenly, a lightning bolt goes through Zalgo's abdomen. He falls to the ground, bleeding ichor, and laughing." I will be free, Zeus. It's only a matter of time. Kill me as many times as you like, Son, it won't mean shit in the end. The Wall will burn, and as you lie bleeding at my feet, I will make sure you see as I take EVERYTHING from you. As I throw your sons and daughters into hellish prisons, destroy your kingdom, and drive you mad. Your time draws near."

-Zalgo and Zeus having their rematch after 3,000 years.

"Jeff: No more riddles, asshole. Tell me what you want.

Zalgo: Isn't it obvious, Jeff? I want the same thing as you. Actually...no. You and me, we both NEED the same thing. Revenge. Taking my throne from me was just an inconvenience, you see. My power only grew after I arrived to Hell. No, the true punishment is what happened to my children. Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Aphrodite, Chiron, and Hera turned against me because of my piece of shit father's petty little curse. Cthulhu is imprisoned in the deepest, darkest depths of the sea. Nyarlathotep has been a...a plaything for Set in the Duat, Mavros has wallowed alone in Ginnungagap, and my dear Skjule has been held on a leash as if she were an animal by those filthy angels. I haven't embraced my mother, seen my brothers and sisters, or lay with my beloved empress Rhea in eons, because to top it all off, I'm imprisoned in my own fucking dimension. I've found ways to kill leagues of gods, but this cage still keeps me from getting the ones I REALLY want to reduce to gore. Ymir, Ra, Osiris, Isis, Am Daehgar, and especially that little mistake Zeus. You know, it's funny, Jeff. I can feel the hate emanating from you. All of it just...so delicious. So, so much hate. But it doesn't compare to the hate I feel for the Order gods. For my father, for Ymir, for that wrinkled old ballsack Ra, for that disgusting little festering blob of infectious disease and excrement I'm forced to call a son. The hate I feel for them simply can't be measured. The hate I feel for them is as endless as the Macroverse itself. Hate is the blood that flows through my veins, and it is the air I breathe. For all of those who have wronged me, I only have an endless, bottomless, merciless reservoir of all consuming hate. I may be consumed by hate and compelled by madmess, yeah. But that is the only thing that's made my imprisonment tolerable. And soon, it'll be over. At last, I'll have what I need. Freedom. Chaos. Revenge."

-Zalgo explaining his motivation to Jeff, and his most famous quote.

As Kronos, he was a tall Titan, 9 feet tall with red skin, gold eyes, and black hair styled into dreadlocks. He also had a long black beard with no mustache. Kronos usually wore a black robe with gold accents, as well as a gold jeweled crown and rhinestone rings.

As Zalgo, he looks more or less the same, but has more pronounced animalistic and monstrous traits. Zalgo has the teeth of a great white shark, eyes and mane of a lion, the horns of a dragon, a forked snake tongue, raven’s wings, and a wolf’s tail. He has eight grinning mouths on his back, all of which have spider fangs. Zalgo wears an elegant black robe and cloak adorned with a gold breastplate with a ruby in the middle, and a black war helmet trimmed with gold. He has a massive scar over his left eye, and another reaching from his temple to his jaw, as well as a massive scar in his chest. Zalgo’s main weapons are his scythe and his black candle. He usually has a sadistic grin on his face. Obsidian chains are wrapped around Zalgo’s arms, legs, waist, and chest, symbolizing his imprisonment in Hell.

Trivia[]

*According to Cash Lannister, Zalgo's theme song would be The Monster’s Loose by Meat Loaf, the theme for Jaws, and The End Begins frome God of War.

*His and Rhea’s theme song would be A Little Piece of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold and You’re No Good by Linda Ronstandt.

*Every war and act of random chaos, from the Civil War to the Holocaust to 9/11, made Zalgo grow stronger, and escalated his inevitable escape from The Wall.

*He watched Jesus Christ get tortured and enjoyed Jesus’ pain, despite Zalgo’s deep respect for him.

*Zalgo was the master of various murderers such as Jeffrey Dahmer, Aileen Wournos, Ted Bundy, Albert Fish, Ed Gein, Charles Manson, Jack the Ripper, Jim Jones, Elizabeth Bathory, Manuel Noriega, Genghis Khan and many others.

*It is implied that Zalgo drove H.P. Lovecraft insane and caused his early death.

*Genghis Khan and Atilla the Hun made daily sacrifices to Zalgo.

*He is the master of the demon Pazuzu, and did nothing to stop him from possessing Regan Macneil, despite being disgusted with the manner Pazuzu tortured her.

*Zalgo is asexual. However, given the fact that he deeply loves his wife Rhea, it’s most likely Zalgo is asexual-heteroromantic.

*Zalgo represents all of the Seven Deadly Sins.

*Wrath: Zalgo despises the Order gods for imprisoning his brothers and sisters after he lost the First War of Gods, and is outraged at the injustices committed against his fellow Chaos gods. Zalgo also hated his father Ouranos for throwing his brothers the Cyclopes and Hundred-Handed Ones into Tartarus, to the point where he killed him with sadistic glee. Zalgo also relishes destruction and chaos and thrives off of war. The very concept of peace enrages Zalgo, and he reacts violently when his minions suggest he make peace with Zeus. Zalgo is, above all, in love with the very concept of hatred, and encourages people to give into it, thinking hatred makes people strong.

*Pride: As one of the most powerful beings in the Macroverse, Zalgo is extremely arrogant, seeing only his mother Gaea, his grandfather DEED, his sister Am Daehgar, and Odin as his equals. While Zalgo respects his enemies, he still believes that he is better than them in every way. Zalgo also laughs at those he considers to be weak, and tends to have his armies kill them for his amusement. He also doesn’t care how many men, women, or children he needs to kill to take his revenge on the Order gods, showing that Zalgo is ultimately an incredibly selfish man.

*Gluttony: Zalgo is a proud cannibal. He’s infamous for swallowing seven of his children, and before that he consumed his father’s corpse. Zalgo enjoys eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the gods that he killed. Sometimes Zalgo will make sure they stay awake while he is eating them.

*Lust: Zalgo deeply loves Rhea and would do almost anything to make her happy. While Rhea no longer loves him, Zalgo still misses her and yearns to embrace her. When he was Kronos, Rhea was the only being who made him feel like his life had meaning. Furthermore, Zalgo is sexually aroused when Rhea strangles, hits, or bites him when they had sex.

*Envy: Zalgo resents Odin to an extent because he is happily married to his wife Frigg, who loves him dearly. This inspires a great deal of jealousy in Zalgo, as it reminds him of his failed marriage with Rhea. However, he’s too arrogant to admit he was an awful husband and decides to resent Odin.

*Greed: Zalgo has been hungry for power since he was a child and is willing to do anything and everything to become even more powerful than he already is. After becoming an Avatar like his parents and becoming arguably the third most powerful being in existence, Zalgo still isn’t satisfied.

*Sloth: Despite lusting for magical power, Zalgo has little to no interest in ruling the Macroverse, stating that he’s content ruling the Nezperdian Dimmension. Zalgo also barely directly reveals himself to his enemies, preferring to let his minions do his dirty work while he watches and waits in the shadows. This can also be applied if one interprets Sloth as patience, which is something Zalgo has in abundance.

*CashLannister has stated that his headcanon voice actor for Zalgo in this series would be James Earl Jones.

*Zalgo doesn't have a consistent true form. He appears as something different to everyone. Some of his forms include a tornado of fire, a black hole, a shadow, a hurricane, a colossal monster made of fire, and a lighting storm. The only conistent thing about Zalgo's forms is their color scheme: red, gold, and black.

*Zalgo’s monologue about his plans for revenge was inspired by the infamous hate monologue by AM from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. As a reference, Zalgo says he read the short story and thought it was “hilarious”.
