The RED Engineer is the titular main protagonist of the music video ENGINEERS ARE YOUR FRIENDS, a Team Fortress 2 fansong created by nerdcore artist group Random Encounters. and the fourth entry in their TF2 fansongs series.
Just like in canon, he is one of the mercenearies hired by Mann Co. to defeat the rival team with the exact same members, in this case BLU. Engineer, in his starring song, he is shown to be a affable, yet sadistic mercenary who kills the BLU Team members in specifically brutal ways, which causes his own teammates to be afraid of him.
He is portrayed by Kevin Clark.

The video opens with Engineer, Medic, Heavy, Scout and Pyro camping. Medic tries using the camp fire to smoke, and while Engie tries telling him that they're bad for his health, Medic ignores him. The team begins arguing as Scout reminds Medic of an unspecified incident (presumably the Spy backstabbing him while disguised as Scout), Engie tries calming them down, he asks Pyro to help him make smores, but Pyro completely burns his marshmellow, which Engie is somewhat annoyed by, but he ignores it as he begins singing his campfire song.
His first campfire song starts with him describing protecting a control point with his dispenser, but a BLU Soldier appears and launches a rocket at it, much to Engie's horror. Engie decides he should kill that Soldier, he does this by shooting him near the nutsack, with the Soldier apparently digesting without them. The team reacts in shock and fear as Engie retells this tale. Engineer describes how the Gorge would be the Soldier's grave and 2Fort his tomb, and how the BLU would be "too late" to duck him when he kills them, his song's visuals also show killing two BLU Scouts, the first by stepping on him, and the second by shooting him, which seemingly scares the BLU "Sniper". But he tries reassuring his own team that they're his "friends".
After he finishes his song, he asks his team if they're more relaxed, which (besides Pyro) they're not. Heavy demands a "happy song", and Engineer sings his second song: This song is about a Demoman who he was friends with, and how they would apparently go drink together and "blow the place up as kids do." However, their friendship would end as Engie would eventually realize he was actually a BLU Demo. This caused him to be rather angry, so much that he would use his wrench to behead the BLU Demo, which causes Medic and Heavy to be even more horrified (not Pyro and Scout, as they're fighting over marshmellows). He describes that his kills are so gory that "the blood runs like rivers" and he'll blow people to slivers, while "bashing and beating" the BLU Team until he defeats/"de-feets" them, with the visuals showing him stomping a Heavy (who is supposedly BLU but is incorrectly colored RED) to death.
He finishes his song, which Medic says isn't an improvement. Engineer calls his team "babies" and asks them what they want ot song to be about, Heavy requests "love", but Engineer says that isn't his strong suit, which confuses Scout, as he ask if he never had a girlfriend, Engineer actually remembers one: His third song is about his "girlfriend", Katrina, who is in reality another dispenser, whom he describes as "little and cute, but hot dog she could shoot." However, Katrina would eventually be destroyed/"die" thanks to a Spy's zapper, but Engie couldn't scrap her, so he decided to make her a "new twin", Katrina's "baby sister" would never miss a target. Engineer describes how he'd smile at such events and play his bloodstained guitar while no-scoping enemies, the visuals show him beheading a BLU Spy with wrench. He claims that he and his "friends" will brutally kill any enemies, but his teammates are still very scared of him.
Before finishing his song, he says his allies shouldn't be afraid to sit by his campfire and toast up weiners. However, he claims that if his teammates double-cross him, things will get "saucy" and he'll shoot them/"blow a big hole straight through them". He says that he wants to massacre Medics, skin every Scout and hang every Heavy while gouging their eyes out, but he'll only do that if they're wearing blue, but his teammates are still scared. As Engineer finishes his song, he says that they should get some sleep and tells his teammates to sleep well, however, all of his teammates (besides Pyro) are traumatized by his song.
Known Victims[]
All the victims we know about thanks to his songs, all are BLU.
- Soldier - Shoot him in the genitals. Though this one is debatable, since he is supposedly still missing them, even though he would have recovered fine.
- Two Scouts - The first he stepped on (at least, that's what the visuals show) and the second he shot.
- Demoman - Beheaded with his wrench.
- Heavy - Stomped on to death.
- All of Katrina and her "baby sister's" kills - He created them with the purpose of killing enemies, and states the latter "never missed no one again."
- Spy - Same as the Demo.
- Overall - At least 6, much more offscreen.

- For some reason, one of Engineer's kills is that of a RED Heavy (the one he "de-feet-ed" by stomping him to death), even though he's on the RED team. This was probably an animation error.
- While not appearing physically, Engie is referenced in Random Encounters' other TF2 songs, with the exception of MEDICS DON'T HEAL SCOUTS! and RED.
- In MEDIC! THE MUSICAL, the Medic mentions Engineer in a couple lyrics. Notably "The Engineer has electronics,".
- In YOU AND ME, when Medic and Heavy are planning to sneak up on the BLU, we see the BLU Engineer's turret shotting at the duo, with Heavy dismissing it and claiming he eats them for breakfast.
