Eryk of Davern is the main protagonist of the Call Me Kevin YouTube video, The King game where your choices actually matter (a revisit of Yes, Your Grace) and it's sequel, Ruining a king game by making bad choices. Although his original's personality was based off of the player's choice, this Eryk is a much more fleshed out character. Although not villainous, he still does quite a few crimes without caring for the affects of it. He is also Ivo's arch-nemesis.
When not being voiced by in-game dialogue, Eryk is voiced by Kevin O'Reilly, known by his alias, Call Me Kevin.
Personality[]
Eryk is very much a incompetent individual. Despite being king over Davern, he shows no knowledge of how to do so. In at least a week, he nearly plummeted the kingdom into debt and started a war. He is also a immature father to Lorsulia, Asalia, and Silly-Pickle, as he often rants about their incompetence and immaturity (ironically). He is also violent, as he killed a fleeing soldier without hesitation and agreeing to a swordfight with Asalia to punish her for spreading animal feces on her sister's pillow.
Despite this, Eryk is not a truly villainous individual. He does have Davern's best interests in heart and felt remorse for not being able to find a missing child. While he is rather passive-aggressive to his daughters, he still does care for them, as he was worried when Asalia went outside the castle and truly despises Lorsulia's husband, Ivor, after learning he was physically abusive towards her, openly calling him a little bastard and trying to resist throwing him off a wall. He also shows affability towards most of the people in Davern, even prisoners. He also values his associates, Audry, Stan the General, and the Witch.
It is hinted that he might have a musical interest, as one of the dialogue had a rythmetic sound to it and was in tune with the game's soundtrack.
Villainous Actions[]
- Killed a soldier trying to flee.
- Arragned Lorsulia's wedding with a thug (though he would regret this).
- Refused many offers from the peasants for help.
- Broke a promise to Lorsulia and forced her to marry Prince Ivor to get King Talys's army.
- Sword fought with Asalia to punish her for her prank (referred to it as "A slap on the wrist, but with a sword.")
- Picked the worst dress for Lorsulia's wedding because it was cheap (though, to be fair, he was in debt).
- Sabotaged a Merchant's business by forcing him to give him his gold.
- Planned to marry off Asalia to a kingdom.
- Agreed to help Etton to sell drugs so that he can forge an alliance.
- Sent Noaksey the Dragonslayer to the forest to gain the trust of Sir Friderick.
- Has Noaksey executed for killing Talys and to also gain Friderick's alliance.
- Starved his army for weeks (though, this is justified as he didn't have much funds).
- Planned on killing Ivor (justified given his cruel nature and abuse towards Lorsulia, as well as implications to the death of Talys).
Trivia[]
- He is similar to Kevin's famous character, Jim Pickens.
