Executor Vermillion, simply known as Executor, (additionally known as Sonic.exe) is the titular main antagonist of the Sonic.exe: Blood Scream series.
He appears as the titular main antagonist of Sonic.exe: Blood Scream (as well as its upcoming remake) and it's sequel Sonic.exe: Blood Tears and the main protagonist of its DLC Fall of the Angels.
He is an ancient demon who was imprisoned for millions of years inside a magical crimson ring after a great war he started between mobians, angels and demons. In present day, he was accidentally unleashed by Sonic and possessed him, using his body to complete his apocalyptic mission.
It is revealed that Executor was once a mortal who turned to demonic magic and vengeance in order to unleash his rage upon the world after his wife was murdered. He eventually redeemed himself after he started feeling empathy for his victims and rebelled against his former mentor, X. He is also Akrasiel's arch-nemesis.
Biography[]
Executor lived millions of years prior to the game as a mortal, happily married to his wife, Lira. However, at some point in time, Lira was murdered by known people, although it's implied she died in a war. Upon hearing of his wife's death, Executor snapped and began harboring dark thoughts of violence and bloodshed. Some time after Lira's death, Executor became the pupil of X, the lord of the demons, and used his demonic magic to turn Executor into a demon. After his training was complete, X was fatally wounded by an archangel who had drained him of his abilities, and asked Executor to kill him and steal his soul to make himself powerful and start the war with the angels and mobians. Executor thanked X for all he had done and killed him and took his soul.
Upon taking X's soul, Executor became the leader of the demons and engaged in a war against both angels and mobians so they could bring the apocalypse to the world, slaughtering millions without remorse, but a brave hero emerged to defeat the demon. It was Executor's brother, who fought against Executor, but Executor was too strong and didn't seem to be able to die, so the hero used a chaos technique to split Executor's soul from his body. Executor's body was destroyed and his soul was sealed inside a crimson ring as the hero dyed shortly afterwards. Without their leader, the demons began to fall back until the war was over. The ring with Executor was hidden away from civilization for millions of years.
In the present day, a stone detailing the events of the war and the ring's history was unearthed by one of Dr. Eggman's robots. Eggman searched through city ruins until he found a temple and stole the ring, bringing it to his rocket. After Eggman's defeat, the rocket crashed and the ring landed near Green Hill Zone. Sonic discovered the ring and picked it up, unknowingly breaking the seal and restoring Executor's lost memories before the demon possessed Sonic.
Endings (Blood Scream)[]
Good Ending[]
If all the Chaos Emeralds are collected, Executor will send Tails, Knuckles and Eggman into another dimension so he can work on his plans. While there, the three find the chaos emeralds and turn super, preparing to fight Executor. Executor arrives and deactivates their super forms with ease, but as soon as he does, Sonic shows up in his super form, no longer under Executor's control and battles him. Leading to Executor's defeat.
After his loss, Executor retreats and complains about how most of his power was drained, but plans on unleashing his true form upon the world. As he's about to begin, the spirit of the brave warrior he fought comes to talk to him, and makes it seem that Executor is causing chaos to bring someone back. But he denies it, and proclaims his superiority and new identity. The brave warrior then vanishes after realizing that redeeming Executor appears to be impossible.
Bad Ending[]
If the Chaos Emeralds are not collected, Executor will open a reality-destroying black hole which decimates the entire world, turning it into a hellish, blood-filled wasteland. Tails, now a corrupted minion of Executor, finds him declaring his victory. Executor speaks about his nothing will stand in his way because he is now essentially a god of the world.
Endings (Blood Tears)[]
After arriving at the festival in Emerald Hill, Tails is subdued by Eggman, who threatens to kill him. With Sonic enraged and his mind becoming vulnerable, Executor possesses him once again. Realizing the mistake he's made, Eggman attempts to kill Executor through his robots, but to no avail. After destroying all of Eggman's robots, Executor leaves to hunt for Amy, Cream and Sally, and to finish what he started; bring the apocalypse to Mobius.
Good Ending[]
The good ending of the game sees Executor gathering the chaos emeralds so he can wipe out South Island. However, the emerald rebel against him due to Sally using the crimson ring that was used to imprison Executor. Not wanting to be trapped again, Executor refuses to be imprisoned by the ring, however, he fails and is once again imprisoned due to Sonic managing to regain control of his body. Completely enraged and refusing to give up, Executor breaks out of the crimson ring, shattering it whilst in the form of Sonic. Now completely insane, Executor conjures a sphere and destroys the platform Sonic and his friends are on. Believing them to be dead, he continues with his plan.
Using the chaos emeralds, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream and Sally prepare to face off against Executor with their guns and see his plan in action. Executor explains that he is preparing to drop a giant sphere full of demonic energy on South Island so he can destroy it. Sally hatches a plan, and together with Cream and Amy, they fail to lure Executor to Sally, however, she manages to accumulate enough 7.62x39mm bullets in her AK-47 assault rifle she retrieved from the war and fires 22 times at Executor, paralyzing him, leaving him unable to move.
The team use all their guns to drop the demonic energy sphere on top of Executor, however, he manages to teleport away to his pocket dimension at the last second. While he plans to return to the world to finish his goals, Sonic and his team use all of their guns against Executor's demonic energy, overpowering him. Sonic tells Executor to go back to Hell and unleashes his team's energy, obliterating Executor and killing him once and for all.
Bad Ending[]
The canon ending features all of the characters dying, leaving Tails as the sole survivor. Attempting to flee, he is cornered by Executor in the form of Sonic, who tells Tails that he is not a victim, nor is he innocent, but is instead a dirty coward and a murderer, and that its his fault all of his friends died. Distracted by Executor's harsh words and on the brink of a mental collapse, Executor kills Tails and prepares to turn him into another one of his subordinates.
Blood Tears DLC: Fall of the Angels[]
Occurring after the canonical ending, Executor has the now enslaved Tails direct him to the temple where the crimson ring was first found by Eggman to search for an object known as the Pandora Crystal. Upon finding it, Executor is not able to take it until he remembers who he really is, but he takes it anyway. He finds Sally inside the temple, having killed Tails as he was trying to escape. After leaving the temple, Executor heads to Eggman's base and defeats his forces. Eggman escapes his base after fighting Executor with his Death Egg Robot, but Executor catches up to him and prepares to kill him. However, a voice interjects and teleports Eggman away, knocking Executor to the side.
After becoming un-demonized, Tails, Knuckles and the newly acquired Akrasiel head to a forest where Akrasiel knocks Executor unconscious. Akrasiel removes part of X's soul, which gives Executor his strength and powers. Tails decides to use his blaster to kill Executor and blasts his head off. As the trio leaves, Sally arrives, and is still under Executor's control. She uses her dark magic to regenerate Executor. Executor wanders through the forest before coming across Knuckles and another archangel, Suriel. Suriel pseudo-possesses Knuckles' body and fights Executor, but he kills them both after revealing that there is a spy among the group. Executor leaves Knuckles' body and heads off, however, he is cornered by a vengeful Amy Rose who is accompanied by another archangel, Ramiel. Sally arrives after the battle and begins ripping off Amy's limbs, however, something sparks inside of Executor as he begins to feel sympathy for Amy as she screams in pain. Nevertheless, he has Sally kill Amy and Ramiel.
After Executor begins to show empathy, something begins trying to take control over Sonic's body. Unfortunately for him, Executor begins fighting back against its control. Within his mind, Executor flashes back to a time where he was showing one of his associates, Dimme, the Pandora Crystal. Dimme begins to worry about Executor, as his personality is slowly becoming more and more similar to X's, leaving it possible that X is still alive and looking to take advantage of Executor. After he's done, Executor is interrupted by Metal Sonic, who he swiftly defeats. Executor arrives to confront Tails and Akrasiel and effortlessly defeats Tails. Akrasiel takes matters into his own hands and possesses Tails before severely wounding Executor and leaving him for dead.
As Executor starts dying, what appears to be the other half of Executor (his Sonic.exe persona) plans to seize control and take over Sonic's body. But Executor stops him and admits that he only kept his soul for power, but was distraught after seeing what he had become as he calls Sonic.exe a monster. Sonic.exe calls Executor out on his hypocrisy and prepares to take action when Executor finally admits his wrongdoings, seeing Lira's death as a bad excuse to take his anger out on the world and knowing that this would not be was Lira wanted. Executor announces that he will fix everything that he's done and tells Sonic.exe that he is merely a front to make Executor forget who he is, and that Sonic.exe is not who he says he is. Executor states that he knows it's X as X reveals his true form. Executor plans to undo all the damage he has done and bids farewell to X.
Executor recovers from his injuries and uses the Pandora Crystal to turn himself into a fusion between his mortal, demon and Sonic forms. Executor confronts Akrasiel as he explains his plans before attempting to destroy the world. Fortunately, Executor transports them both to his pocket dimension before Akrasiel can grab the Trihex, resulting in both of them getting one half of it. Akrasiel proposes to Executor that he will make him the co-owner of the new world he plans to build if he hands over the remaining half piece of the Trihex, but Executor refuses and fights Akrasiel. Once he is at his weakest, Executor comments on how Akrasiel and X aren't too similar before killing him and using the Trihex to restore the world back to normal.
Executor finds Sonic and questions how he was able to remember all of the events that had transpired, but tells Executor that it was because he had remained in his body for so long. Although he despises Executor, he thanks him for restoring the world. Executor bids farewell to Sonic as he says that he has other things to fix. After leaving Sonic, Executor uses the Trihex to creates a new world resembling the time from which he came from where his previously murdered victims can leave out the rest of their lives at, including his wife, Lira, who he greets as he enters the dimension, finally at piece.
Personality[]
Motivated by power, vengeance, and complete domination over all life, Executor is an incredibly callous, cruel, sadistic, monstrous and self-centered psychopath driven by a lust to torture and kill everything in sight. He primarily shows no remorse for his actions and loves to taunt, mock, and murder people with sadistic glee. He is unrelentingly evil and vile, and attempts to exploit the weaknesses in his victims by using past memories from Sonic to mock his enemies. He is extremely jovial and cheerful when committing his evil acts and remorselessly hunts down his prey with a wicked smile of pure evil.
Executor's most prominent characteristic is how he is a definitive narcissist to the core. He brags every time he interacts with in one way or another and sees himself as a being above everyone else. He is selfish and arrogant with a massive ego, a pure megalomaniac who does anything for power, killing anyone in his way and insulting everyone he meets. He is very egotistical, arrogant and confident in his abilities to take down anyone. Executor is also quite manipulative, he successfully convinced Tails he was Sonic until revealing himself, and easily charmed Amy in his Sonic persona.
Deep down, Executor is a tortured soul, having his wife die took a large toll on his mental and emotional stability and drove him mad, wishing to see the world burn, as he showed genuine love, compassion and empathy towards her. It's likely Executor saw the world as unforgiving, uncaring and cruel and willing to turn a blind eye towards the deaths of those who weren't considered important, causing him to spiral into madness and insanity. Fortunately, Executor comes to his senses and rebels against X, becoming a brave, fearless fighter, as well as being sarcastic, sardonic, and satirical.
Powers and Abilities[]
Executor is able to possess other entities, fly for unlimited amounts of time, teleport anywhere in an instant, and can even perfectly mimic and shapeshift into his host. Executor also has incredible reflexes as well as all of Sonic's primary abilities, as well as being very durable, taking hits from many 12-gauge pellets shot at him by Eggman and attacks from Neo Metal Sonic. Executor is able to duplicate himself and give these clones certain amounts of his power, he can create a dark aura to shield himself with, and create dark projectiles.
Not only is Executor powerful, his soul is also immortal and cannot be killed by conventional means. The only way to destroy him is by using the chaos emeralds.
At full power Executor is able to create a reality-bending black hole which starts the apocalypse and corrupts everything.
