Exezar (also known as Sonic.exe) is the titular main antagonist of Sonic.exe: Dark Souls and it's sequel Sonic.exe: Darkest Soul created by LordKooner. He is a powerful demon that can control other entities by releasing their anger, and manages to possess over the body of Sonic the Hedgehog when he releases a powerful wave of dark energy. He was also Avares' former partner turned arch-enemy.

Origins[]

Exezar is a mysterious, demonic entity from Hell that can possess other people when they release their anger, allowing him to possess them. After Sonic takes down Dr. Eggman, his friend Tails is hurt upon colliding with a wall. Sonic is enraged and turns into Dark Sonic, but decides to fight his anger off, however by doing this he unwillingly allows Exezar to possess him. Exezar explains how he is able to control Sonic and goes on to start his plan.
Endings (Dark Souls (Original))[]
Best Ending[]
If Tails, Knuckles and Eggman survive their ordeal with Exezar they will find him at the Master Emerald and have Metal Sonic hold him in place to let Sonic battle him inside his mind. The two hedgehogs meet and turn super, however Sonic is able to take down Exezar and expel him from his body, sending Exezar back to Hell (or destroying him for good) and allowing Sonic to re-control his body once more.
Tails and Knuckles Duo Ending[]
If Tails and Knuckles survive Exezar's massacre they will head to the Hidden Palace and find Exezar. Exezar tries to go super but Knuckles stops him by using the emerald's power. Exezar can't handle the power of the Master Emerald and is destroyed by it, killing himself and Sonic in the process.
Eggman Solo Ending[]
If Eggman is the only survivor he will head to his other base and trap Exezar within the walls of it, an energy beam from above shoots Exezar and kills him as well as Sonic. Eggman then decides to give up on his plan to take over the world and seeks to become its hero instead.
Bad Ending[]
If no one survives Exezar's onslaught he will proceed to turn them all into his slaves and corrupt Mobius, turning it into his new home and new hell for his victims. This is the canon ending of the game.
Endings (Darkest Soul)[]
Best Ending[]
If Exezar is defeated during his boss battle, he will finally snap and open a portal to Hell, where he intends to send his last surviving victims. However, he is foiled by Tails, Knuckles and Eggman, who have broken out of their brainwashed states and push Exezar into the portal as it closes behind them, imprisoning Exezar in Hell once more as his three former minions sacrifice themselves by following suit.
Unfortunately, Exezar teleports out of Hell and brags about how no force on the planet is strong enough to stop him. Fortunately, he is interrupted by the Chaos Souls, seven sentient, mystical emeralds who returned to Mobius to stop Exezar after he started his reign of terror. The Chaos Souls flash a bright light as Exezar shouts "NO!" as he vanishes. It's likely that the Chaos Souls either imprisoned him in Hell permanently or destroyed him on the spot.
Bad Ending[]
If none of the characters survive Exezar's second massacre, he will resurrect them as his subordinates and complete his mission in fully dominating over Mobius.
Personality[]
Unlike his predecessors, Exezar rarely shows arrogance and is purely motivated by anarchy and chaos. A desire to kill anything standing in his path. He is cruel, sadistic, and brutish, showing a complete lack of empathy for his actions and a lust for destruction. Exezar is also a hypocrite, as when Sally calls him a liar, he refutes her claims, despite the fact that he has repeatedly lied to their girls in his Sonic persona.
On the Sonic.EXE wiki, however, it is confirmed that he deep down has monophobia, similarly to Sonic from the Sonic movies, so he might possibly be trying to take people with him for companionship so that he doesn't feel alone.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a demon, Exezar wields incredible dark magic. He has a slight control over people when they're angry, but unleashing a form of dark energy allows Exezar to take control of their bodies. Exezar can also mimic other people by shapeshifting into them. Exezar can also fly, teleport, corrupt people, shoot red energy projectiles, run at high speeds and even turn super when in the form of Sonic.

Trivia[]
- Some of Exezar's sprites in-game don't have blood under his eyes.
- In the original demo, Exezar was seemingly Dark Sonic, Sonic's evil consciousness, that managed to possess his body. It was later made clear that this was not the case.
- Exezar's line of "you can't kill who's already dead" indicates that Exezar didn't originate from Hell, but was sent there after he died.
