Fairies, also known as Pixies, are supporting characters from the "Disney Princesses but they're Villains" series of songs by British musical artist Lydia the Bard, serving as supporting characters in Tinkerbell's arc of the series and the overarching antagonists in Wendy Darling's song and animatic. They are magical, elemental beings that team up with Tinkerbell to subjugate humanity.
Biography[]
Fairies are born in the magical realm of Neverland, created from a baby on Earth's first laugh. Each fairy has a unique task, and often has the elemental or magical powers to complete it. There they lived in peace and harmony.
However, a fairy dies when the child that created it stops believing in fairies. As the belief of fairies began quickly fading, fairies began dying en masse. Most fairies ended up dying except for Tinkerbell, Rosetta, Iridessa, and Vidia, who were forced to watch all other fairies die around them.
One day, Tinkerbell comes up with a plan. She travels to Earth with Rosetta, Vidia, and Iridessa to find their respective children, intending to make them never lose faith. With Tinkerbell's guidance, they find their respective children and kidnap them away to Neverland, where the children become Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. The fairies are content with keeping the children there forever to ensure their lives continue.
However, one day Peter returns from Earth with a girl his age named Wendy. Tinkerbell immediately realizes that Peter is smitten with her, and fears that she and her stories of life on Earth may lure Peter and the Lost Boys back, where they might one day grow up and forget about her and her friends, leading to their deaths. Refusing to let this happen, Tinkerbell plans to have Wendy killed. After some failed attempts, she calls the aid of Rosetta, Vidia, and Iridessa. Together, they find Peter, Wendy, and the Lost Boys on Captain Hook's stolen pirate ship, using Pixie Dust to make it fly through the sky. Tinkerbell takes the Pixie Dust away, causing it and everyone on board to fall. As the others secure the Lost Boys, Wendy plummets to her death and the fairies take the boys back to Neverland.
However, Peter escapes and begins a one-man crusade against the fairies. Meanwhile, the fairies use Pixie Dust and technology to invade Earth, overgrowing the plants and subjugating the humans to force them to believe. The humans begin worshiping the fairies as gods, and with experiments on Pixie Dust, Tinkerbell is able to resurrect many fairies, who are seemingly thankful and willing to support Tinkerbell's extreme methods in order to stay alive.
Though Tinkerbell is later killed in a battle with Peter, her quest proves successful. With the belief of fairies resurrecting many of their kind, the same magic of belief begins extending to Neverland. As the belief in fairies is now rooted in fear and hate as opposed to hope and wonder, the magic is tainted. The magic makes its way to Wendy, who comes back to life, now with a twisted mental state
