Dan, also known as the Family Vlog YouTuber, is the main antagonist of the Grant Wisler Skit Being The Child of a Family Vlog Channel.
Biography[]
He is the father of the Family Vlog Son, who's privacy was being disturbed by his father for content and being forced into a role he didn't ask for as he doesn't want views, which Dan didn't like hearing.
This goes on for a long time as Dan keeps invading his son's personal life to make content for his vlog channel, even things that shouldn't even be on YouTube in the first place, much to his son's growing dismay.
Some time earlier, Dan somehow heard his son was leaving for college so he decided to steal all his college funds and gambled it all away without asking for permission and lost it, causing his son to not afford college.
He reveals this once he finishes making a vlog on his son leaving for college, and while he thought it was just a lie to make the video more entertaining, Dan reveals that what he said was true and that he really did lose all the money, saying that his son is not going anywhere.
The son, now infuriated and having enough, demands to know why he can't leave and says that it's his life and he should make his own choices. However, Dan refuses to listen and retorts that his involvement in his vlogging channel is his life and it's gonna stay that way.
Now finally at his breaking point, the son argues that he doesn't want to be part of his channel and says that he has never been wanting this for the past 10 years, finishing that the channel is Dan's dream and that he should let him live his.
After he says this, Bill shows up and says that Dan's son is right about what he's saying and that he has to let his channel go because his son is growing too old for the shit that's been going on for years without end and that it's all over now, which the son agrees to.
Dan, angered, fakes agreeing that his son and Bill are right and that the former is too old and should do his own life before shooting Bill fatally.
Shocked, his son demands why he did that, and Dan sarcastically says that murdering Bill is good for a final video before the son yells out why he's doing this.
Having no sympathy, Dan mockingly says that his son wants to throw it all away and forces him to make a choice whether to stay or rot in jail, possibly caused by Dan lying that they both murdered Bill.
It's speculated that the son eventually agreed to staying, and that from a recent video, Dan gaslights that his son is highly addicted to methamphetamine.
Personality[]
Dan is a highly arrogant, controlling, condescending, and abusive person who wants to make views from any possible way, such as breaking into his son's room with no warning to entering uninvited to a restaurant while his son was having a date, which shows that he has no sense for privacy whatsoever.
He apparently sees his son as his views-magnet when he gambles all his funding for college away so he could forcefully keep him at his house to continue abusing and using him for his videos, not caring that his son is way too old to continue this and that he doesn't want to be part of his channel at all.
