Prof. Faust Renfield is an antagonist of Multiversal Legends, appearing as the secondary antagonist of Champions of the Multiverse's "The Chaos Reich" arc, a minor antagonist of the "Angel Heart" two parter, and shall possibly return in the upcoming unnamed Ben Diablo spin-off series. Renfield is the crippled human servant of Niklovich, a former Nazi occultist and scientist who seeks to become immortal. He joins Niklovich's Carnage Circle and acts as a minion to Niklovich and acts as a recurring member for the Carnage Circle. After World War II and the Nazis's victory, he keep himself alive via a serum he made and disguised himself as the respectable lead scientist of Orisis Labs under the name of "Percy Wilcox" in the main universe.

The Chaos Reich Arc[]
Renfield was a Nazi scientist and a member of the Thule Society during World War II, who only joined the Nazi Party to conduct experiments in his spare time. He was the man responsible for summoning a demon into his dimension, the demon he summoned was the vampiric Crawling Chaos, Niklovich, whom after summoning him had struck a deal with him that he'll serve him if he makes him immortal. Niklovich gave Renfield a serum that allowed him to stay young and not age, and used Renfield as a means to join the Nazi Party. Niklovich also had taught Renfield on how to raise the dead and try to find a means to resurrect their men and use them as undead soliders and converting their soldiers into vampires to weaponize.
The Nazi won the war due to being given magic weapons, powerful technology, and army of the undead that dominated the Allied soldiers and took over the world as a result. Niklovich became partners with its dimension's Hitler until he passed away and assumed leadership over the Reich. Renfield as appointed as the head of a Nazi Facility where they experiment on the supernatural in order to harness their abilities for the war. During the Arc, Renfield acts as the right hand in Niklovich's Reich who carries out the experiments to fund the Nazi army and helping Niklovich's plan in taking over the multiverse with this army.
However the Champions (Legend, Jack Spark, and Kron) entered this alternate universe to foil this plan, such as infiltrating the Nazi facility Renfield is in charged of. Renfield ordered that the creatures captured there should be executed so they won't escape, which failed when said supernaturals creatures soon escaped thanks to Jack Spark releasing them. The creatures destroyed the facility in return for imprisoning them and attempt to experiment on them. Renfield on the other hand was saved by one of the scientist whom he repaid him by shooting him to death with a Luger pistol. He escaped and wasn't seen since.

Years later, Niklovich decided to became a powerful and influential crime lord in the criminal underworld with Renfield himself acting as the voice for Niklovich should he want to interact with someone indirectly. With the help from Omega Corp, Renfield joins a corporation owned by Omega Corp called which he secretly uses to conduct experiments on the dead under Niklovich's orders.
Renfield (as Percy Wilcox) is first seen in the episode "Angel Heart", a news report where he is being interviewed about his work and any possible science project he is working on. However he told the man interviewing him that the information is classified and he isn't allowed to tell to the public or anyone else. In the next scene, he is seen discussing with a shadowy figure about a specimen they dubbed as "Angel Heart" and how it might be able to serve as a perfect weapon for them. They overlooked the project of Omega Corp militia being transformed into vampires. It is implied that most of the scientist at Osiris Labs aren't aware of what's going on, as only a select few (which includes Renfield) are ordered by a mysterious benefactor who founded the corporation while the rest do specific science experiments that helps them with their project. When the mysterious benefactor asked Renfield on what happens should the vampire soldiers failed, Renfield smugly replied that he'll just have his men pick up their corpses and use it for experimentation and resurrect as an undead soldier.
One scientist, Professor Carl Simpsons, saw both Renfield and the mysterious benefactor chatting and learn of their sinister plans. Simpson was shocked that his boss's true plans, but he kept quiet about it so he won't be caught. Simpson told a member of the Pandora Foundation, Kara Heart, before being seen in the hospital. Renfield with two of his bodyguards visited Simpson at the hospital, with Simpson seen beaten near to death and in a coma, Renfield insults Simpson before ordering his men to shut down the equipment that kept Simpson alive. When Wade Stevenson and Randolf Carter/Nosferatu came to Osiris Labs to investigate what is really going on there, Renfield personally lead them to a tour and informed them that nothing suspicious was going on as they were merely working on a serum that would help medical workers. Nosferatu invistigate and by pass the security, and encountered a door leading to the basement of Osiris Labs. He saw a underground facility with multiple scientist experimenting on angelic looking humanoid dubbed "Angel Heart".

Renfield is at first was a patient, polite, caring, charismatic scientist who speaks in a amused tone. However in reality, he is a cowardly, cold-hearted, and callous immortality seeker who is willing to resort to criminal activities to fulfill his desires for eternal life. He also has a traitorous side, as he betrayed the Nazis to the Allies to save his own skin, and has acted as a mole for the Carnage Circle. He is also sadistic, cruel, and doesn't show empathy towards the suffering of others. He isn't loyal to anyone, not even to Niklovich who simply follow him due to being intimidated by him, but does find sees him as a fascinating creature and wanted to study him and his abilities. However he does treat those under Angel Heart's Hospital with respect and pays them fairly, however due to his nature and how he later treats his employees after revealing his true nature, it's likely that he is just merely being pragmatic.
Although he is a (or was) Nazi, he stated that he wasn't in it because he believed in Hitler's regime but because it allowed him to conduct experiments to find some means to become immortal, which at least imply he wasn't a bigot (though this might not be out of moral standards). He is unscrupulous, and borderline sociopathic, but is deeply afraid of death due to a near death experience which occurred in a lab accident when allied soldiers stormed a Nazi facility in hopes of shutting down their research on the supernatural, which lead the building to be engulfed in flames which he almost died from had he not been saved from a American soldier. He also believes in human evolution, and thought vampirism is the next stage of human evolution (which he seeks to make himself into as he believes it's a key to eternal life).
Appearance[]
He appears as a young man, seemingly in his 20s, with blond hair and golden eyes. He dressed impeccably, wearing a expensive white suit with a black tie, and wears expensive glasses. He once wore a SS officer outfit during WW II, and during a satanic ritual he wore a black cloak resembling ones you see in cults. Without the usage of his serum, he reverts back to his proper age which is a elderly man with dark grey hair, wrinkles all over his body. He also has a mechanical device on his left leg which helps him walk, being crippled due to the fact that he was shot by a Allies soldier during WW II.
Trivia[]
- Renfield's appearance is inspired by The Major from Helsing, while his name is taken from the famous Faust (a man who made a deal with The Devil, or Mephistopheles) and Renfield from the Bram Stoker's Dracula novel.
- It was mention that he has met Josef Mengele himself, and was possibly his apprentice, though it is unknown if it is true or not.
